 Farin figured it was a good idea to head to the forest to record some data. He wanted to see how different creatures reacted in their native environment and how that would be different from when they weren't there. He loved seeing how different creatures reacted to different stimuli and it was very curious to see it all. He smiled as he got a backpack ready wth all the things he would need. Once that was done he went out to the forest and sat down tacking out his notebook and recording what he noticed.

 Jieun was out for a brisk walk, or hike, or forced march as her fellow understudies often stated. But she found a walk through the forest helped clear her mind out of the day-to-day hassles of others, and allowed her to truly focus on that which she loved, her work. Specifically mapping the day-to-day activities of plants and animals in their native habitats, un-disturbed by normal common sense, irrational boundaries, and these silly thoughts about romance. Animals procreated to carry their line and genes down. This was nature and science. She huffed her way along until she got to a clearing that seemed appropriate for todays' studies. "Yes yes..." she nodded and mumbled to herself as she emerged from the foliage to properly take in her surroundings and look for a place to settle herself for the next few hours.

Farin flicked his ears as he heard something and the animals seemed to be disturbed by a new presence. He got up and walked silently without disturbing anything. The animals had already accepted him as part of the forest since he had been coming here so often. He walked in the directection the disturbance had come from till he spotted a flash of purple. He moved so he could see whatever it was clearly curious as to what stimulus had illicitted the response form the animals. He smirked when he saw it was a pretty lady. He picked up a flower that had fallen from the tree. It was a very pretty flower and walked over to her. "Hello there. I know this flower pales in comparison to your beauty but I hope you will accept it as a token none the les." He smiled sweetly at her as he presented the flower. He liked to document how different people reacted to compliments and the like.

Jieun grabbed a notepad and pen from her backpack and began peering around at the clearing for a place to sit. She settled upon a rock nearby and as she was about to move was startled by a noise. "Ah!" She jumped, almost as if out of her skin, and turned around suddenly. "What are you trying to do, kill me?" She glared at the intruder who had jolted her out of silence. I didn't even hear him approach. She scolded herself mentally, she was supposed to be in tune with the forest in order to document it better, but she just stood out like a sore thumb. "What are you even doing here?" Changing her tactic she accused him, pointing her pen at him viciously, her only weapon against potential harm.

Farin noted how she seemed unable to detect his approach. Interesting. He also noted the way she reacted to being startled. Subject becomes scared and then reacts with violence. Useless violence but violence never the less. He made those notes in his head and smiled at her. "No. I would not sniff out such a lovely flower as yourself and if I were to want to end someone I would not start off with hello." He watched the pen and debated about showing her the pen was useless but thought it better to allow her the small comfort of fake safety. He smiled as he thought about her question. "Well I was looking around and noticed the animals seemed to be disturbed by something so I went to go find that something. I spotted you and had to come over and give you some tokens to say thank you for allowing me to see such beauty. I know my offering is nothing compared with your beauty but it is what I have" he held out the flower to her again and made no threatening movements.

She stared at him confused by his seemingly 'non-threatening' words. Why would someone sneak up on me if not to attack or kill me? Hrm. She found herself forming a quick distrust for this... She took a moment to take him all in. Dragon...? The likes of him was extremely uncommon and unusual to say the least. She dropped her guard a bit and peered closer at him, taking in all his striking details. She began making mental notes in her head. Deep purple hue, iridescent green scales, fur tufts along spine line that fade off midway down an extensively long tail... She wondered about the practical purposes a tail like that would hold. And whiskers too! My goodness. Her fingers twitched with the urge to take notes. To sketch out the details as she didn't trust him mind to hold and portray them true. The mind was weak at remembering things as they were, hence her collections of journals.
Her head finally snapped back into the moment as she finally focused in on what he was saying. "The animals...?" She murmured back in response, quoting him, finding she had forgotten where she was already. She tsked at herself again. Of course she was in the forest to do research and boy did she find one of the best subjects she had ever seen to research! He was smiling at her... Was this malicious, curiosity, hunger, peace...? Other sentient beings with higher forms of thinking, like herself, were so hard to interpret. Her brows knit together in indecision. Think, think, think useless brain. What is my next move? She slowly began lowering her pen and realized how tense she was, as she began to slacken out a bit. It's a gamble but if he didn't take advantage of the art of surprise I doubt he's trying to eat me. She coughed lightly, smoothing out her clothes nervously.

He merely looked at her and waited for her response. Seemed she was a little slow on responses. Well it must be hard to have to deal with such things. He just waits for her to do or say something. He saw the way she looked him over. He wasn't sure he liked that. It was clinical but also there was a strange gleam and he didn't know how he should feel about it. She probably just wasn't used to dragons since most hadn't seen his kind. He flicked the tip of his tail as he waited for her to say something. He noted how her fingers twitched. That could mean a lot of things. He didn't know if she was just so lost in a dragon being a new thing or if she was a little slow. He set the flower down near her and went back to watching and waiting. She had to say something and she was still clutching that pen, which was adorable.
He nodded at her words when she finally apoke. "Yes animals." Okay maybe she was eitherin awe or slow since that was just her parroting him. Or maybe his lineleft her speachless. Probably not. It wasn't anything all that special. He sighed and shrugged as she did and said no more. Alright this was a boring subject. He would have to go back to where he had come from and go back to his own study since this subject was revealing nothing to a reaction. "Well I'll leave you to whatever you are doing in the forest. Just try to be more careful to not scare all the animals away." He waved as he turned away from her. "Bye little flower." He'd heard that cough and seen the smoothing out of the clothes. "There's a stream not too far away if you need water for a parched threat. It's safe to drink."

Ah he began to walk away from her her stupor fell and she reached out her hand holding the pen and to grab him. "Wait!" She hesitated catching herself, a light blush rising to her cheeks. What the hell am I doing? She coughed again before asking. "What are you?"

His ear flicked as he listened to the music of the forest. He spun around as he heard her move very tense and ready for an attack. He looked at her hand coming at him with the pen. Her and that dang crazy pen. She had to be insane. He stopped when she said wait and crossed his arms waiting for what else she would say. He tilted his head and took note of the flush to her cheeks. Curious. He smirked at her question. "Well here I was thinking it was obvious to anyone with eyes what I am."

She looked away, a bit ashamed at his accusation. This was so dumb, why was she not already familiar with his species? But she decided to hold her own and try to cover her bluff, turning back towards him. "Well you're obviously a fine example of your species with a radiant scale pattern." If she had glasses she would push them up, instead she began walking around him in a circle, observing and writing down as she went. "Long six pronged antler style horns, purpose unknown. Purple fur along ridgeline that stops midway down tail, purpose unknown. Long whiskers ending in a tail fur softer than the one that runs along the spine, but mirrored in the tail; proposed purpose of seeing in the dark or helping compensate for blindness." She waved her paw in front of his face. "Can you see this?"

He frowned he hadn't meant to upset her with his words. He had only been teasing but it seemed this one was very literal and couldn't read subtext. well that was interesting and could lead to very strange miss communications. Was she even aware of the fact she couldn't read subtext? He chuckled and shrugged. "Not sure I'd say fine. Could be arrange or normal. I'm not really exceptional for my species." He chuckled as he listened to her listing off all those things. He smirked and forced himself not to tease her about if he could see it. "Why yes I can. I can also see each individual petal of that flower in your hair. The pattern of your clothes and the individual leaves on that tree 100 yards away or so."

She blinked at him. "Not... exceptional." She jotted this down. As he mentioned seeing the distance to the tree she turned her head and looked. She squinted a bit, she probably should have glasses for how often to spent staring at her notes. "Can see up to 100 yards clearly." She added this note too. "What exactly is your coloration for?" She asked bluntly.

He bit his lip forcing himself not to laugh as she took his word on that and just wrote it down. He he watched her squint at it and looked her over and shrugged. He stretched a bit and kept on watching her. He bit his lip as she squinted at it. He bit his lip more as she wrore that down and tilted his head more very curious about how she took everything literally. He looked at her. "Well it's genetic. I got it from my mom and my dad. Why are you the color you are? What purpose does your coloration serve?"

She stopped writing for a moment and brought the pen up to her chin thinking on that. "Well my skin tone is light from lack of sunlight. Like yours, it is also genetic and has drawbacks such as burning easily. Hence why I sit in the shade and not the sun. I was often told growing up that pale skin was sought after by a mate, but I always thought that was bologna and an excuse for my mother avoiding a sunburn." She smirked at this memory of her mother walking around with an umbrella. "My dark hair also comes from my mother, of Asian heritage I'm told, but my eyes are from my father. This shade of blue-green is unusual from an Asian heritage line." She stared down at her nails, the only frivolous part of her and odd hobby that stuck with her from her mother, she chose to paint her nails. She hesitated but didn't mention them. "I tie my hair up so that it stays out of my face while I work and my headband was a gift from my father when I graduated school." She pulled at her clothes. "Traditional wear in an easy to move fashion for maximum comfort and workability," she concluded.

He nodded his head as he listened to her explanations. "Pale skin is also for climates that get less sun. It helps those adaptive more of the vitamins and nutrients they need from it." He nodded his head as he listened to it all. It was rather curious how she analyzed even those simple things she had been born with and her actions. He chuckled and nodded. "Very thorough and detailed." He smiled and nodded her. "Also very practical. Can I ask you, do you ever do anything that isn't practical? Or without finding some way to make it practical? I'm not trying to be rude merely curious about your motives."
