My 10 year old baby boy called Lätkä was recently diagnosed with diabetes. After the initial shock, it was time for me to learn how to check his blood sugar levels and inject him with insulin. "Lucky" for me, both my dad and little brother have diabetes, so I have learned everything about it and how to treat it when I was a kid. I also got all the equipment, including insulin, free from my dad. Otherwise I wouldn't have been able to afford it all. I still need a pet glucose meter for accurate readings (the humans ones show wrong :c) but it costs like $200 here, so I can't afford it. I did find a cheaper one from Amazon but they don't ship to Finland, so boooo.
After the struggle at the start, I am now able to check his blood sugar levels with no trouble, and he doesn't even notice the insulin!
