On the outskirts of Hellview city, there is what seems to be an abandoned two story house. the lights were all off and the windows were all boarded up. There were stories of it being haunted by malicious spirits. People have said that moaning and wailing could be heard on some nights. The house seemed suspended in darkness even in the day time.
David stammers up the two broken steps, just barely standing. He had walked all the way from the prison which was about a five-mile travel. Normally that would have been a simple thing but too much energy was used in that conflict with Trent.
He placed a shoulder against the doorframe, using it as a kind of crutch to support his weakening body. David produces a key from his pocket and places it in the door. He peered around cautiously for a moment before proceeding inside. Despite the external appearance of the house, the inside was immaculate. As special kind of black paint covered all of the walls and windows to keep all outside light out and keep all light generated from inside in. There were wards and seals on the ceilings and floors that matched the ones on his body. The seals were made to hide his energy and the wards were used to keep grim angels away.
David plopped down on the large white couch that sat in the middle of the living room.
"Mother told me that there was a cost to teaching people our secrets. I didn't expect this though."
By breaking the limiters on the seals on his body, David gains considerable abilities... but the trade off is a loss of overall bodily function over time. As he sat in the room, the markings began to fade away. smoke started to rise from them before disappearing completely. Almost immediately, energy returned to his body but still, he sat with a sad look.
He didn't deserve to be free of that burden. this was all his fault. Someone had to be punished for what happened a year ago. David placed his face in his hands, that is when he heard it.
punish the wicked...exterminate the oppressors
David looked around for the voice but he knew exactly what it was. He peered up the steps, took a deep breath and made his way up. The further he got the louder the voice became. At the end of the narrow hallway was a room. The door was closed all that could be seen was a striking yellow light that pulsed ominously.Turning the knob, The door swung open slowly to reveal a single nightstand against the far wall. On it was a sword, wrapped tightly with impossibly strong binding magic. He had almost forgotten about this weapon, it had been silent for so long.
Despite everything, David did not want to kill his old friend which is why he left this sword here. But with Lloyd showing up again and Trent going down the path that he is on, there was no point in holding back any longer. This was a weapon given to him by Alison long ago, a sword that could kill a grim angel. The sword recognized their immense power and has called out for action. Lloyd is a friend... for now but Trent must be cut down.
David closes the door and proceeds back down the stairs where he pours himself a glass of bourbon and sips it while staring off into on of the four pitch black walls that surround him.
