Personality:
❖ In short, Arlin is described as mysterious and not easy to get to know. He has a hard time trusting people, but he is fiercely loyal to the friends he does make; even if it doesn't seem like it at times. Arlin is the kind of guy that pays attention to detail, regardless of it being his surroundings or another person, and he is a good judge of character.
History:
❖ Arlin was created by an alchemist named Mull, who attempted to create the ultimate Mana in order to give rebirth to the world. It isn't quite clear why Arlin, and his many deceased brethren, were created. Arlin and his brothers were incomplete, and Mull tossed them out like garbage. Being the only survivor, Arlin swore revenge on his creator. He proceeded to search for a way to defeat Mull and Amalgam, the Mana Mull was trying to create. There were no paths that didn't result in Arlin's death, but he accepted that. One attempt to fight Mull resulted in Arlin saving the life of the Mana of Time, Luplus, who accompanied Arlin afterward in hopes of returning the favor. They became friends, but because of Arlin's resolve to die trying to defeat Mull, Arlin wasn't exactly willing to admit his friendship with the Mana. But, he always appreciated Luplus' presence regardless.
❖ Eventually, Arlin met the grandson of one of Mull's old friends, Daphne, and joined him and his other companions. Arlin admired Klein's determination to defeat Mull and save their friend, Lita, who was also an artificial humanoid created by the last great alchemist, Iris. Lita's power is due to an item called the Ruby Prism, which was stolen by Mull so he could complete his creation. When Arlin realized Lita's origins, he departed from the group; her Ruby Prism, should Klein succeed in creating another one for her, would only destroy him, or so he thought. He proceeded his lonesome quest, and came across Mull in Iris' Resting Place. He attempted to destroy his creator once and for all using the ultimate move. Arlin failed, and his body, which contained limited mana due to being artificial, began to turn to stone. Klein and his friends arrived in time to take in Arlin's final request: Defeat Mull and make sure no one else suffers. With that, Arlin's body became completely stone.
❖ However, that wasn't the end of him. Arlin was saved by Luplus, who used his control over time to restore him to his previous state. This happened after Mull's and Amalgam's defeat. With nothing else to live for, Arlin wanted to simply die again. However, he was convinced by Luplus to live and appreciate life as he should have before. Accepting his friendship with Luplus, Arlin decided he would live in the world Klein and his other friends saved. He has yet to come across any of the others, though.
