Prompt: One doe, detached, reticent, and barely capable of more than a few croaked syllables to a stranger before shying away from contact. The other, an unflappable beauty with excellent physical and social prowess. Both are incredibly driven, with long memories and the ability to carry on incredibly detailed plans between them. Whenever one of these lovely does has something she wants for, they work together to gain it. Whether that be food, familiars, a choice plot of land to lord over or a cute beau or two, when they put their heads together, their force of personality and incredible forethought make them nigh-unstoppable. Cause is the mind of the operation, taking in the situation from a detached vantage, listening and learning, until such a point that she can lay out a plan to accomplish just about anything the two could want. Effect is the one to physically act out her sister's plans, acting as her eyes, her voice and her legs where her sister cannot keep up.
Of course, this leads to certain problems. For all that they both play their roles, the work they do is very inequal– Effect feels that Cause is given the easier job by getting to sit back when she's accidentally set her sister up to fail. Cause, on the other hand, would be completely lost without her sister to embody her plans, and due to the unique nature of their communication, she'd be hard-pressed to find someone who can actually understand her, let alone act as an effective proxy. Whenever things go sour or awry, the two of them tend to be at each others' throats, comparing apples to oranges and each individually valuing her own skill and the unique effort she puts in to make things work over her sister's.
At the end of the day, though, their lifestyle of drifting and grifting tends to leave a wake of less-than-friendly kin, and both know that the one person who can truly understand herself is her sister. If they have to share with anyone, why not the one they rely on most of all? If they have to trust anyone to watch their backs, who other than the one they grew up with, and the one who's seen them through the best and worst of times?

Prompt: Lost One and Found One are half sisters, coming from the same father yet lacking a familiar mother between the two of them. Their father introduced the two at a young age after Found One's mother gave her up, and upon locking eyes the two does instantly felt a connection. Something foreign and powerful. Their father saw this and instantly played on it. Lost One was born from the kin he loved truly but deceased shortly after, and Found One was born from a kin he didn't love. Wanting to ensure Lost One was always safe, he began to feed lies to Found One that it was her duty to protect Lost One from the world. Found One agreed earnestly, the two sisters made the other promise to always love and cherish the other. As children that was a pure and honest promise between the two of them. However, age warped their feelings as resentment and jealously slowly accumulated between them whenever one of them met another kin or held adoration for someone else. This manifested at first into simple arguments which ended with reassurance that their bond was eternal, and over time it began to slowly inch towards something else.
The tipping points started with two events:
For Found One, it was when she met another kin she began to befriend. Fueled already by a feeling she didn't matter as much in the family after she discovered who Lost One's mother was, she sough this friendship out with honest intentions to have someone close in her life. Lost One, however, watched the scene as the days passed, a deep fear lurking within her stomach that she'd be replaced. For the first time, she didn't ask Found One for reassurance, instead starting to make up lies that she saw Found One's friend with another kin and spoke ill of her. Lies after lies accumulated, and Found One ended that friendship feeling worse than she had before. Lost One, pleased she had her sister back, did not confess at the time of her wrongdoing.
For Lost One, it started when she found a buck she wanted to spend her life with. Found One, struck with a jealous fury, watched as Lost One began to show a side to the buck that typically was reserved for Found One. That wasn't acceptable, and if the tables had been turned Lost One would have felt the same. Their attachment to one another had grown to an ultimate unhealthy peak, and as Found One watched Lost One fall into a unrestrained love for the buck she knew she had to do something about it. So, she intercepted the buck and promised if he ever came to visit Lost One again that Found One would find those he held close and ruin their lives. Horrified, the buck fled, and Lost One fell into a brief depression as Found One comforted her sister, who believed the buck had simply abandoned her.
Lost One eventually discovered the truth when she bumped into the buck months later, and with a fury she had never felt before she turned on Found One and demanded to know what her issue was. The two fought bitterly and cruelly, and eventually, out of anger, Lost One admitted her own cruel action from months ago, eventually ending in both deciding to never speak to one another again. That didn't last long, as both liked to linger around the other, pretending they were simply nearby out of pure chance. Each time one sister found happiness, the other would carefully ruin it and return to comfort their sister, bonding over the encounter for a few months before something would tear them apart. Rinse. Repeat.
The two are obsessed with one another and trying to ensure only they can give the other true joy. Neither try anymore to justify their actions and understand them, they just feel a deep seated need to ensure only they are in the others life. Only time will tell how much worse this can get, or will an event suddenly stop the cycle?

Prompt: No matter who they meet, or where they roam, there's always the complicated difference in thought and behavior between sisters; these two take it to another level. Arguments usually ensue as to poor decisions, or the lack of sense of fun in life. Excess of either can be painful, and at the end of the day, each tries to understand the other. However, the chances of seeing that side are slim to none as even Thornless has only glimpsed it a handful of times herself. Beauty often feels jealous of her sisters easy way with others, how quickly she's able to connect with other kin and make friends, and how much they seem to adore her. On the other hand, though she hates to admit it, Grace is also sometimes extremely jealous of her sister's beauty and the admiring glances she receives, and the ease with which she seems to glide through life without a care in the world.
Past strifes have left a bitterness toward the other that runs dark and deep in both of them, and even threatens their relationship as sisters at times. However, on the few occasions they do see eye to eye there's been no one strong enough to break their combined will.
Still, they have a lot of work to do if they want to overcome their past and work together to move on to a better future. If only what remains of their love together can prevail!

It was because Pride's family -- movers of dirt and earth, caretakers of the Swamp and its creatures as staunch allies of the Vale -- were moral, practical and generally complete opposites of Stillness's. Stillness's family were collectors of bones, of sinew and tendon, harvesting the things kin left behind after death without much regard for what it looked like or what they left behind [or, presumably, whose feelings they hurt]. As they get older, the pressures of their families are making both sisters reconsider their pact of love. Heartstrings might be strong, but they can only stretch so far before they break...

They were the only two to survive their clutch, and one of them didn't even get to grow up healthily. Still, at first that meant they were inseparable: they'd come so far together, and back then, they loved each other unconditionally. They went everywhere together and accomplished goals together, and they told each other everything. What changed? It wasn't any single thing - it was just that it was hard. Waiting to Bloom wanted to do more things, and she felt more and more that she shouldn't have to look after her sister's well-being. Even though that's what a good, dutiful sister would do, and that's what she is. At the end of the day she was still doing it, right? Even though she didn't bother hiding her resentment. Flowers Eaten tried to ignore her sister's open resentment at first; surely Waiting to Bloom, of all kin, could not have grown weary of her. Her ability to ignore this perceived slight against her very existence grew thin though and she too grew to resent her sister. For a kin whose self-worth was built so tenuously on believing that other kin benefited from being around her, having her own sister openly challenge that belief was more than Flowers Eaten's limited goodwill could bear.
Unfortunately, that kind of stuff builds. Flowers Eaten is just as unfortunately dependent on her sister for physical care as she's ever been - especially given that neither of them have ever been content to sit around in someone else's tribe - and Waiting to Bloom has always been too stubborn and committed to think about letting go. As it stands, Waiting to Bloom is very obviously resentful of her sister, who, especially recently, has become more and more cruel even though Waiting to Bloom (she thinks) asks for nothing in return for her labor. And there's nothing really keeping Waiting to Bloom hanging around. Except, well, she's put so much of herself into helping her sister that she's not really sure who she is without it, and that walking away at this point would feel like giving up. Waiting to Bloom doesn't do giving up. And Flowers Eaten is her sister, whose vitality she must have sapped somehow when they laid next to each other in their sacs, to have turned out this way. That has to have meaning, over anything, doesn't it?
As for Flowers Eaten, the issue is more a flaw in her own character but that is something that she only chooses to perceive in fits and spurts; after all, perfection needs no self reflection, right? This thinking leads to the conclusion that, in fact, the problem must lie entirely with Waiting to Bloom - magnifying Waiting to Bloom's impossible ask of Flowers Eaten (to be healthy, to keep up, to stop needing help, to be less dead weight in the grand scheme of Waiting to Bloom's goals, never Flowers Eaten's goals because when had anything they had ever accomplished actually been something that Flowers Eaten had suggested?) to the level of personal attack. She can't conceive of herself as a burden, at least not one that no one would want to carry; someone has to, Waiting to Bloom has to (if not Flowers Eaten, and she tries not to think about this too often or at all, could very possibly end up dead on an unlucky day). And obviously, she can't help being so sickly.
It's clear that there's too much history between them now for their relationship to be idyllic. But at least they have each other, right? Well - maybe. At this point both of them are still working on convincing even themselves that they love each other. Good kin love their siblings, and if nothing else, the sisters are each desperately convicted that they're good kin. For Waiting to Bloom specifically, leaving Flowers Eaten on her own probably means leaving her sister to eventually die, and she definitely doesn't want that. So there's that, right? That has to be love, somehow. But with all the things she's said and done (and regretted, and felt vindicated about), she's not sure how much of the lingering affection she feels toward her sister is really love, and how much is some strange combination of guilt and stubbornness. For Flowers Eaten, she tries to delude herself into thinking that she still loves her sister even though any other kin would look at the mixture of resentment and even hatred she feels and announce there could be no love. To her, it seems, cruelty is a fair response - why should she be expected to be kind to someone who openly resented her? If she were more capable of seeing herself as she really was, she would probably see that all that is left of her once boundless affection of Waiting to Bloom is the stubborn desire to not openly reveal a flaw in her character that even she could recognize, the stubborn desire to see that she is good where Waiting to Bloom has, in her eyes, failed.
For now, all this has to be enough.

Prompt: Soft Blight doesn't truly see her sister in terms of love or hate. She is there, and she is family, and therefore she is part of Soft Blight's life. She is nothing more than a potential experiment.
Harsh Tincture doesn't despise her sister - there is a layer of love that is irreplacable - but her stubborn desire to get answers doesn't bode well with the dark kin. She is savable, hopefully.

Pale Sister Personality: Opposite her sibling she's ruthless and cold, like a harsh and bitter winter. Once upon a time she may of had a different outcome but she has her reasons for being as cruel as she is. While she may have a harsh exterior once you break through the barriers there is a very loyal and caring soul that will stop at nothing to ensure her family is provided for. However, the chances of seeing that side are slim to none as even Thornless has only glimpsed it a handful of times herself. Bitter Memories feels as though she should be the soul ruler to the lands they control together, mainly because she is more of a forward thinker and willing to do what is necessary to get the job done. She feels as though her sisters kindness and gentle ways will only give way to those around them thinking they can walk all over her. So she strikes fear into those she thinks mean them ill-will.

Dark Sister Personality: While her sister is cold and harsh like the winter, Thornless is soft and warm like the Spring. Boasting a calm and level head, she tends to try and think things through before acting. She believes every problem has a peaceful solution. While this is a noble trait, it tends to make her seem naive, weak and under qualified for the task of ruling. While Bitter Wings has the support of the nobles and those in power, Thornless has the support and love of the people. Without either sister, their herd would fall into disarray and while she acknowledges this she still believes it is she who should lead solely.
