HISTORY
Birthplace: Amestris, East Area, East City
Birth Date: 13 July
Family: Jean-Pierre (Father), Emma (mother)
Armand was born to a stable and respectable merchant family in the East City of Amestris. They received goods from across the eastern desert and transported them to the various cities around Amestris. Around 8 years old, Armand began to travel often with his merchant father. His eyes grew large at all the world had to offer. On his journeys he heard stories about the State Alchemists and the wonders they could perform. His father warned Armand against the alchemical arts but this didn't dissuade Armand. He learned what he could on his own, eventually a misstep in his home learning caused an accident that almost cost him his right eye. Armand would then always make sure everything was perfect and correct before attempting further alchemy.
Upon reaching the legal age, he left his family behind and joined the Amestris Military Academy where his near perfected alchemical abilities were discovered and his formal training began.
Alchemy came easily to Armand. He surpassed his peers in all areas of basic alchemy. His only downfall was that he had no specialization. Where others chose certain elemental techniques, or focused on crafting weapons and othreas, Armand had nothing to, call his own. For this reason many of his commanding officers were less than forthcoming with their blessing to have him try for State Alchemist. However after witnessing his skill at alchemy, Armand easily persuaded the most jaded of his superiors to eagerly give their consent.
