We've got a lot of changes coming soon! We would like to know what changes you'd like to see in the magazine.
Please post any suggestions/improvements/changes you would like to see happen or that you think would make the magazine more successful. smile

I'd like a gaming corner and i'd like to write for it
I think it'd be interesting to review new and upcoming video games. a lot of ppl on gaia are gamers.

I'd be interested in some more research-based or "guide" articles.
For example, the GCD discussion threads are often kind of written surveys, where most posters respond to a few spoons at the bottom of the OP. It'd be interesting to use some of those threads and pool together some statistics from there, like "x% of responders found that they did this and that in regards to Y topic."
Or guide articles for how to deal with common issues on Gaia. You could cover a different topic every issue: Hacking (or how you keep your account safe), Scams, Harassments, Trolling, etc. A lot of people just lack general knowledge about how to properly report things or when to block harassers/trolls.
(I'd actually be interested in writing these types of articles myself)
Some other topics to cover:
- NuGen, The Committee, Galexa, MotoIQ, etc. (there are a few fanthreads in the GCD with tons of info)
- Recent highlights from AtS sessions (AtS Archive is helpful)

Maybe we could feature creative writing and art? I'm sure that would attract a lot of people. Maybe illustrations for creative pieces. Would be cool to have a serialization going on.

Seconded! I would also love to make art for those kind of articles!! (games are life)
moreso though I would like to work on art with a writer instead of just random clipart that I think we /might/ need in the magazine.

moreso though I would like to work on art with a writer instead of just random clipart that I think we /might/ need in the magazine.
Id be happy to do that with you if youd like. I love this stuff and i honestl think that corner would draw in a lot of gaians to talk about their video games as well as have aome sort of a resourceful space for them to gather information about new games from a gaian pov. smile

I honestly love all of these ideas so far. I think for the articles I was so focused on what the original creator of the magazine wanted that I got lost in that. I think guides and research articles would be great and I love the idea of a video games corner.
As far as artists working with specific writers, I like that as well and have no objection to this.
the goal is to get the writers at least a few months ahead for article submissions so that while they're working on articles for the next issue, the artists can be working on art for the current issue, etc.

I would like to suggest a page regarding Fashion. Since I belong to the promotions section, I would like to hold an avi contest like that of the Gaia Runway and the winning avi would be included in a page of the magazine (like an avi art awarded to the winner) . This may boost our chance of attracting people and raising our funds as well since I am planning to include an entry fee for those who would like to join the runway. Well of course if this suggestion is okay with our artists.
