OOC Rules

• Follow Gaia ToS
• Characters must be approved before playing
• We have no roleplay requirement, but if you have a character take on a position of responsibility we expect you to be active in maintaining that role. If you are having trouble keeping up with these responsibilities, either temporarily or permanently, please contact the staff so that we can work something out.

• Dragons coloured green, blue, brown and bronze are free to be created at any time.
• Whers, firelizards, and white dragons must be owned before creation, either through contest win or bought in the marks shop.
• When making an adult dragon please refer to the clutch masterlist to see when they can have been shelled and who your clutch siblings might be!

IC Rules

• Please do not create characters that are so flawed or so perfect that they are unpleasant to play/ play with.
• Follow the laws of nature by keeping your characters’ eye, skin and hair colour natural. Dyeing is possible, but the process isn't perfect and dyes are difficult to obtain and expensive.
• Pernese naming please. While we’re at it, try to avoid naming your character after people, gods and other characters.
• We aren’t going to tell you what traumas your characters can and can’t have gone through (Presuming it’s realistic and fits the setting). We do ask however that you be mindful of other players. You can have a dark history, but don’t go overboard with the details.
• Don't use mental or physical difficulties as a way to 'spice up' your character. If you want to play someone with a real condition that's fine, but it must be mindful and realistic, and you must have done some research about living with this condition. Unless you want an essay from staff about how you're being insensitive to people with actual difficulties.
• Consistency is the key. Characters need to have consistent histories and personalities. Your character can’t have been raised in a basement, yet running around making friends with everyone as a social butterfly the second they get out.
• Don’t metagame. You can’t tell people how to react to your character, that’s for them to decide.
• If you want your character to be related to a named NPC please contact staff before applying. While staff are happy to have characters related to most NPCs, not every NPC is going to be available for every kind of situation.
• Regarding bonded creatures, dragons and whers impress to humans twelve turns and over. Firelizards impress from age ten. Candidacy for dragons ends at 25, with most candidates giving up after 22, whers and firelizards have no upper limit. If you want to make a case that your character should bond older or younger than these PM staff and state your case. There is a marks shop item for allowing dragon impression up to age 30.
• Listen to the staff. Criticism is not a personal attack and is given you make your character fit the setting.
