Appearance: 4'11", quite pale skin, long straight dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, a naturally petite build that life as a rider has made wiry. Generally considered really quite pretty.

+ Driven and passionate, she gives her all to things she believes in and will work as hard as she needs to to achieve her goals.
+ Compassionate. She is naturally given to kindness over cruelty and comforts others sooner than seeking it herself.
+ Courageous. No matter how bad the odds she never gives in.
- Short-tempered. She doesn't like it when things go wrong, or things are taking too long, and she especially doesn't like it when people patronize her. Everybody knows all about it when she doesn't like things, she has a sharp tongue and she doesn't pull her (verbal) punches.
- Arrogant. She tends to think she knows best, she is slow to take advice if it goes against her own ideas.
- Stubborn. Once her mind is made up it tends to stay made up, and never quitting isn't always a good character trait. Sometimes you have to know when to call it a day and try a different approach.

History:
154 - Delana is born the second child and first daughter of Delona and Ionimir, holders of Crescent Bay Hold. The hold was an important trade port connecting the north to the south. Delana was raised expecting to marry well, a fate she accepted so long as her eventual husband accepted that she would be running the show; she was a bright, ambitious girl who wasn't used to taking no for an answer. Four turns after her birth Delana gained a younger brother named Dellion, and two turns after that a sister named Ionina.
172 - Dellion is searched to Ista Weyr. As a younger son with nothing to inherit he is allowed to choose whether or not to accept the Search; he does so eagerly.
175 - Delana (21) and her family visited Igen Weyr to watch her younger brother Dellion stand for the second time, this time from a clutch between Junior Gold Sunloth and Bronze Mikaith. Dellion was chosen by blue Asoth early in the hatching, a cause for celebration. Towards the end of the hatching a small bronze made his way up into the Stands, causing a few injuries in his haste to reach Delana. This was distinctly not what her parents had planned for her but once a dragon has chosen there is no changing it; the siblings became Weyrlings together, much to Del'on's disgust.
177 - The plague begins.
179 Month 2 - D'lana (24) becomes Weyrleader having spent the turns since her Impressing making many allies for herself among the smaller dragons of the Weyr. So close to a Pass blues stand little chance of winning a flight but they can certainly still take wing and should they accidentally get in the way of the favourites of the flight, thus allowing a fairly small bronze to get past and win the day... well these things happen in the heat of the moment don't they?
179 Month 5 - Asoth dies, Dellion returns home to Crescent Bay unable to stand the sight of dragons.
179 Month 12 - Senior Gold Sunloth dies of the plague.
180 Month 6 - As Sunloth's final clutch reaches adulthood D'lana rallies her remaining riders and brings them to Fort, where she attempts to establish control.
