[General Information]

Name: Evelyn Falk

Nicknames: Ev, Hellcat, Rookie (only called that by George)

Titles:

Age: 27

Birthday: October 28th

Star sign: Scorpio

Gender: Female

Race: Human

Alliance: Villain

Personality: Evelyn is a woman of contradictions. She's laid-back, yet lively. Intense, yet aloof. Impulsive, yet calculating. She is many things to many people, and it all depends on the situation and how she feels at the time.

Overall, though, she's a fun-loving person who hates feeling like she's standing still in life, seeking out thrills and adventure and able to adapt to whatever life throws at her in a snap. She will do what it takes to survive, even if it takes her down an unsavory path, like this one, leaving her cold and angry and bitter, with a deep grudge to boot.

She does have certain moral standards, though, which cannot be shaken. For example, she will not hurt children or put them in danger. Sinestro himself could order her to hurt a child, and she would still refuse.

[Personal Information]

Height: 5'5"

Weight: ~145 lbs

Occupation: Former Navy SEAL

Sexuality: Pansexual. Gender don't matter, honey.

Likes: Alcohol, fluffy or soft objects, music, candles, bath products, nightclubs, her guitar and keyboard, video games, certain cartoons and anime, scaring the crap out of people

Dreams: Used to be that Evelyn wanted to be as good a soldier as her father, and after that, perhaps a musician. However, now... she wishes to create a world where no one will have to experience what she went through.

Dislikes: People who leave others behind, broken guitar strings, overcooked food, lag

Fears: Being abandoned or left behind again. She avoids this by not letting anyone get close enough to do this to her. She's also afraid of being captured by the enemy.

Darkest Secret: She's got a nasty, jagged scar across her stomach, and she tells everyone she got it from a bar fight after defending her at-the-time girlfriend from some creep. It is not from a bar fight. It's from that one time she fell out of a tree while escaping through her girlfriend's bedroom window, and gashed her stomach on a broken branch. Her girlfriend's father had to take her to the hospital.... and he did so while giving her a talk on safe sex and how she could have just used the front door. Needless to say, Evelyn was mortified, and prefers not to talk about it.

Favourite Food: Swedish meatballs.... or maybe venison stroganoff. Possibly beef stew, or chicken pot pie.... If it has meat and gravy, she's pretty happy.

Favourite Drink: Cherry apple cider from Door County, and various wines and cocktails.

Least Favourite Food: Any kind of plain, steamed vegetable. Why the hell do people not add spices to their veggies?!

Least Favourite Drink: Koolaid and other fruity powder drink packets.

Loyalties: Herself, the Sinestro Corps

Intelligence Level: Evelyn's IQ is about 135, making her gifted. On her mother's insistence, she went to college before she enlisted with the Navy.

Dominant Hand: Right-handed.

Strengths: The ability to think quickly and improvise, precision, cooking, music

Weaknesses: Trust issues, doesn't always think things through, can sometimes be blinded by her own emotions, refuses to admit that she needs help sometimes, can't draw for s**t

Cherished Items:
Unit Photo: A group picture of her and the rest of her unit, including George. It reminds her of one of the happiest times of her life, though it now also brings feelings of anguish. She's considered blacking out George's face numerous times, but something always makes her hesitate.

Philosophical/social viewpoint: People need to stop relying on each other so much. They'll only get hurt and let down that way.

Religious viewpoint: Evelyn doesn't know whether there's a higher power or not, and quite frankly, she couldn't care less either way. After all, they didn't help her when she needed them.

Romantic viewpoint: After being abandoned by her unit, she isn't fond of the idea of letting anyone else get close enough to hurt her like that again. She won't turn down the occasional one night stand, though, and she will admit that she feels a bit lonely at times. When or if she does open up and allow herself to love, it will be deeply and intensely, and she will pour her whole soul into it.

Biography
Evelyn was born and raised in Door County, Wisconsin, growing up on her father's tales of being in the Navy. She'd always been enthralled by all his stories of traveling the world on the ships, testing the guns, and all the shenanigans the crew would get up to. She wanted to go on adventures like her father did. So with her father's help, she trained herself into peak condition, and after graduating from college, she went to the nearest recruitment station to enlist, at the age of 21. After going through boot camp and serving on a salvage vessel for about 2 years, she was approached by recruiters and asked if she would like to become a SEAL, on account of her spectacular scores in her regular physical tests. Of course, she accepted.

After 2.5 years of training, she was finally assigned to a unit, led by one George Wattson. His insistence at calling her "Rookie" was annoying at first, but she greatly respected his skills as a soldier and a leader, and he respected her just as much for her quick thinking and her ability to strike fear into their enemies, and they soon became fast friends. They watched comedy movies together every week. She would model poses for his comic books, and he would listen to her play guitar. They even drank together a few times, just staying up late and talking for hours over a bottle of whiskey. They were so close that the other unit members would often tease them about whether they were dating or not. They weren't, of course, though Evelyn would've been lying if she said she hadn't thought about it and dropped a few flirty lines here and there. And she could almost swear that he actually flirted back once or twice. But for the most part, they were just best friends, and that was more than enough for them.

However, it wouldn't last forever. It was a simple mission: get in, kick a**, and get out. But the moment she stepped foot in that building, something felt off. Something was very, very wrong here, though she couldn't put her finger on exactly what it was. She told George that they needed to be careful, that it could be a trap, but he didn't listen, just telling her to continue with the mission so they could get out of here as quickly as possible. And sure enough, she was right. The building was rigged to collapse on them, and when the bombs went off, Evelyn was trapped in the rubble. She's not entirely sure what happened next, she remembers being in a lot of pain and yelling for George, for the rest of the unit, and she remembers him telling her that they were going to get her out, that they wouldn't leave her behind, and the sound of rubble being moved.

But then there was the sound of approaching gunfire, and George was apologizing to her, and she was panicking and screaming and begging him not to leave her here, because she was as good as dead if she got left behind. But she could faintly hear him telling the rest of the unit to move out, and giving her one last apology before his voice faded away. He'd left her to die, either by suffocation, or at the hands of the enemy if they dug her out. Terrified and alone, she waited for death.

When the enemy found her still alive, she tried to fight, but with a dislocated shoulder and a broken leg, it didn't do her much good, and she was taken back to their base as a prisoner. Once there, she was tortured for information. For how long, she didn't know. After a while, the days all seemed to just bleed together in a haze of pain. She didn't tell them anything, though. Part of her training was how to resist torture. She kept hoping her team would find her and get her out of here, but after a while, she gave up. No one was coming for her.

Not long after that, she started severely dissociating as soon as the interrogator entered the room. Seemingly disconnected from her body, she watched as if through someone else's eyes as they hurt her, the pain not registering until they left and she started coming back to herself again. It was agony, but it could have been worse. She did get a bit of satisfaction from listening to the whispers of her guards, though. From the bits and pieces of their language that she understood, she could tell that they were afraid of her, because she didn't react anymore when they tortured her. A demon, they called her, with her golden eyes and face like stone.

She didn't know how much more time passed, but she knew she was getting close to death. She could feel the feverish heat of infection setting into her wounds, feel the agony of hunger and dehydration. She wasn't afraid, though. Death could be no worse than this. But it never came. That night, a bright yellow light slipped into her cell and hovered in front of her, revealing itself to be a ring.

Evelyn Falk, you have shown the ability to overcome and instill great fear. Welcome to the Sinestro Corps.

Without much thought, she accepted the ring, thinking that if it was anything like one of the green rings she'd heard about, she'd at least be able to bring retribution to her captors before she died. But instead, she was whisked away to Qward to be trained. They nearly tossed her back out when they saw how bad a shape she was in, but for whatever reason, Sinestro himself stepped in, and after hearing her tale, ordered that she be nursed back to health. Once she was in top shape again, her training began.

The training was hell, and honestly, she wasn't sure this is what she wanted. But there was no turning back. If she didn't throw herself into it wholeheartedly, she'd have been killed, so she pushed herself to excel, adopting the mindset that since the Sinestro Corps helped her when she needed help (unlike her former friend and her team), she'd be loyal to them instead and offer them her best, letting them twist and mold her the way they wanted. Besides, it still wasn't as bad as the torture she'd faced before this.

When it was time to get into the little pod to face her fears and spark her ring, she found herself facing the conclusion of that dreadful mission again. But instead of allowing herself to be captured, she killed the enemy soldiers, and then hunted her former unit down, killing George and nearly killing the rest as revenge for leaving her behind. With that, the pod opened, marking her a fully fledged Yellow Lantern.

Not long after, she was sent back to Earth with vague instructions: investigate and assess these new heroes.

Relationship explanation

Enemies:
George Wattson | Good | Former friend and unit commander
Though they were once the best of friends, possibly on the way to romance, his perceived betrayal/abandonment and the influence of her yellow power ring has turned her against him. She's not yet aware that he's become a Green Lantern, but when she finds out.... the fight will not be pretty.

Family:
Alice and Thomas Falk | Supporters of Good | Parents
Evelyn is very close to her parents, but hasn't spoken a word to them since she joined the Sinestro Corps. It would raise too many questions and it might put them in danger. So as much as it pains her, she has no choice but to continue to let them think she's dead.

[Weapon information]

Yellow Lantern Ring: Considered by some to be one of the most powerful weapons in the known universe, yellow power rings have the ability to affect and use fundamental forces of the known universe, including electromagnetic energies such as gravity, radiation, heat, light, and powerful blasts of concussive force. It is also theorized that the ring also has a basis in other dimensional energies commonly called magic by users of such energies. The ring can also create fields of force formed from an unknown energy that was bound by the users' will. The limitations of such use are the skill, knowledge and imagination of the user. Yellow Lantern rings harness the power of fear.

Yellow Lantern Power Battery: The Yellow Power Battery is the source of energy for a Sinestro Corpsman's ring, and as such is a vital possession for a Corps member. A Sinestro Corpsman must recharge their Power Ring periodically.

[Other item information]

Item name: Any item that is neither a cherished item nor a weapon would go here. For example armour, med kits etc. Please include an explanation for each item.

[Ability information]

Yellow Energy Conduit: The rings use yellow energy, supplied by a Power Battery, which in most cases takes the form of yellow light. Yellow Power rings, considered by some to be one of the most powerful weapons in the known universe, has the ability to affect and use fundamental forces of the known universe, including electromagnetic energies such as gravity, radiation, heat, light, and powerful blasts of concussive force. It is also theorized that the ring also has a basis in other dimensional energies commonly called magic by users of such energies. The ring can also create fields of force formed from an unknown energy that was bound by the users' will. The limitations of such use are the skill, knowledge and imagination of the user.

Energy Blasts: The ring can be used to fire blasts of yellow energy or create weapons such as projectiles of them. The ring can project beams of force powered by the will of the user. The weapons power is more an indication of the will of the user.

Force-Field Generation: The ring can create various forcefields of various sizes and shapes to protect the wearer and others around him. With the cosmic scope of a Sinestro corpsman's duties, it is only natural that the power ring is designed for operation in space. The ring creates a force-field around the wearer, protecting him/her/it from the hazards of the void including filtration of stellar radiation and microscopic particulate matter which would ordinarily be fatal should the space debris strike the ring wielder at high speeds. An atmosphere appropriate to the ring wielder's biology is created inside the force-field, body temperature is maintained and waste products are removed. Gravitational stresses which could cause injury are stabilized for the ring wielder. Theoretically, a ring wielder could use the ring as his/her/its sole source of life support. The force-field seems to be created instantaneously, whether this is due to programming or an instinctive reaction from intensive training has not been established. It could be considered as a subroutine of the ring's automatic defensive system, but as of yet, this theory has not been proven.

Energy Constructs: The ring can form constructs of yellow energy. The primary function of the Power Ring is to provide a weapon capable of transforming the wearer's thoughts into physical constructs through the wearer's mastery of Fear. A Sinestro Corpsman can create any particular items or construct that they can imagine as long as they have the mastery of fear necessary to will it into existence. The constructs are made out of yellow energy, which is a tangible form of pure fear, and they exist only as long as a Sinestro Corpsman is fueling it with their mastery of fear. Items created by the rings are not indestructible and are only as powerful as the inspired fear of the Sinestro Corpsman creating them. The types of constructs usually reflects the ring wearer's personality.

Instill Fear: the Power Ring is unique in that its base of power, fear, can be manipulated by the ring user. An opponent's fears can be laid bare by delving into their minds. The power only works on the direct emotion of fear. This allows them to create the energy constructs of a opponent's worst nightmare. Also, once that fear is exposed, the ring's ability allows the wielder to amplify the fear to the point of irrationality and true horror on the part of victim and conversely empowering the ring wielder.

Phasing: The Power Ring allows the wearer to pass through certain solid objects, such as walls. Which objects that are not penetrable are not known, but it may depend upon the strength of the wearer's mastery of fear and the density of the object's molecular structure.

Kryptonian Charging: Similar to how the light of a Green Power Ring can be used to create artificial Kryptonite energy to harm a Kryptonian, the yellow energy from a Yellow Power Ring can charge the powers of a Kryptonian or Daxamite.

Environmental Playback: Upon request, the power ring can recreate a holographic environment based on data in its memory banks. The ring wielder can observe events in a ghostlike state, but the ring wielder cannot alter the outcome of the playback. All objects in the playback will appear in the full spectrum of colors, regardless of the wielder's level of expertise creating simulacrum's. The power ring will automatically end the playback if outside interference warrants the ring wielder's undivided attention.

Invisibility & Light Refraction: A ring wielder can render him/her/itself invisible by willing the ring to bend light waves around his/her/its form, as well as that of the power ring. Presumably, a similar action allows an experienced ring wielder to create objects of colors other than green. As Hal Jordan's experience grew, he was able to create power ring illusions of people and objects. It can be assumed the ring wielder would not risk the extra time and effort to create other colors in a combat situation.

Energy Twin: The power ring allows the wearer to create an "energy twin" of his/her/itself that can travel at far greater speeds than that of the ring wielder's physical form. While the energy twin is active the ring wielder remains motionless, his/her/its life force is needed to guide the energy twin. The energy twin can not alter its surroundings, and may only be perceived by another ring wielder as a yellow, ghostlike image. Any knowledge gained by the energy twin is transferred back to the ring wielder's physical form upon recontact with the body.

Energy Absorption: The ring can absorb and store most other energies. Unlike the Green Lantern power rings, a yellow power ring can replenish the normal store of energy the ring has. A ring that needs recharging, but contained a store of electricity could only discharge that electricity, for example.

Flight: By the manipulation of anti-gravitons and directed molecular movement, the ring allows the user to fly at incredible speeds. In atmosphere, a Sinestro Corpsmen has been known to fly as fast as Mach 10 in atmosphere by creating an aerodynamic envelope around his body. Towing others, usually within a bubble, his speed is limited to the twice the speed of sound or 1440 mph. In space, Sinestro Corpsman's speed can be significantly greater and has been known to approach 80% of lightspeed in normal space. Flight is possible at velocities exceeding light speed. In atmospheres, air friction is not a hindrance, since heat is either absorbed or reflected by the ring's field.

Wormholes & Spacial Warps: The power ring grants its wearer access to wormholes in space, enabling the ring wielder to rapidly cut time and distance needed for transport. Black holes can be navigated by experienced ring wielders.

Limited Cellular Regeneration: This ring has a limited ability to heal physical injuries and this seems to be a feature held over from the previous incarnations of the ring. Sinestro Corpsman can use the ring to repair minor injuries in himself or others.

Electromagnetic Scanning: The ring has a wide range of detection abilities based on the imagination of the user. If one can conceive of it, he can probably detect it. Magical effects like clairvoyance, seem to be beyond the scope of the ring. Most normal electromagnetic phenomena are within the range of the ring, including radio, television, infrared, ultraviolet, and high frequency band communications.

Universal Translator: Keeping in mind the myriad of worlds, life forms, and cultures throughout the cosmos, it is understandable why Sinestro added a translation system to the power ring. The power ring can translate virtually any language in the universe, facilitating diplomatic encounters rather than violent confrontations.

Material Alteration: The Sinestro Corpsman's uniform is not made out of fabric. It is created by the Power Ring whenever the wearer wills to wear it. It automatically appears over the wearer's normal clothing, and vanishes when the wearer wills to return to their civilian attire. Most Sinestro Corpsmen wear similar uniforms that are programmed into the ring by default. However, each Sinestro Corpsman is able to adjust their uniform to fit their own needs, personalities and whims. The yellow parts of the wearer's uniform are usually very warm or hot to those who touch it, while the black parts are very cold.

Ring Duplication: Most Power Rings are capable of automatically duplicating themselves. Each duplicate typically shares the qualities and capabilities of the original ring. While the thought of an unauthorized person getting a hold of a power ring and making duplicates for nefarious purposes, their ability to inflict damage is limited because each duplicate still requires to be recharged by a personal power battery.

Emergency Beacon: A Sinestro Corpsman in distress can use his/her/its power ring as an emergency beacon. The alert can be directed to a Sinestro Soldier's neighboring sector, or it can be a Corps-wide alert.

Homing Beacon: A homing beacon in the power ring can lead one Sinestro Corpsman to another. The power ring can be ordered to disguise itself to elude power ring wielding trackers. Most often ring wielders will allow the beacon to signal their location to others.

Mind Alteration: As the power ring relies on thought and will to operate, mind tampering is not impossible, the real difficulty lies in properly applying the power. There lies a risk of catastrophic damage to the mind should mistakes be made. A ring wielder can use the power ring to erase portions of an individual's memories. Sinestro Corpsmen have used mind techniques as part of training. New recruits may be subjected to mind scans by other Sinestro Corpsmen. They are taught to build mental defenses to protect themselves from psionic attack. The power ring can also be used to beam information from the ring wielder to another being. Sinestro Corpsmen have used this technique to share information regarding their enemies during combat situations.

Security Protocol: The rings can be programmed. They can be coded to the wearer so as to make them unusable if stolen.

Preset Conditions: Commands can be stored in the ring to be executed at a later date, even if the bearer is not wearing the ring.

Advanced Hand-to-Hand Combat: Thanks to her time as a Navy SEAL, Evelyn is excellent at MMA-style fighting.

Advanced Weapons Training: Part of her SEAL training involved her having to learn how to use almost any weapon, be it a knife, gun, baton, whatever, including enemy weapons and improvised weapons.

Expert Marksmanship: After years of training with the military, her accuracy is remarkable.

Bilingual: Evelyn knows English and American Sign Language.

[Weakness information]

Recharge Protocol: Formerly, the rings needed to be charged after a period of 24 hours, regardless of how often it was used. Currently the rings retain a charge until they run out of power. This variability ensures that the wearer takes greater effort to keep it charged. Sinestro's ring was originally charged by attacking Green Lanterns, presumably to tap into the yellow light of fear provided by Parallax who was trapped in the Green Lantern's Central Battery for eons. With the construction of the Sinestro Corps' Central Power Battery, a Yellow Power Ring has the same power limitations as a Green Lantern Ring.

Hope Weakness: The transmission and power of one of Sinestro's rings can be greatly disrupted by the presence of a Blue Lantern Ring.

Stubbornness: Evelyn hates to admit that she's wrong, and hates even more to admit that she might ever need help, so she tries her best to avoid situations like this. Even so, she can sometimes get in over her head, and it will be difficult for her to admit that, which may result in severe injury or even death. She also works best as part of a team, but won't admit that, either.

Lack of Foresight: Evelyn sometimes doesn't think things through very well, or a least, in terms of the big picture. For example, she wants to create a world where no one will have to suffer like she did. Problem is, she has no idea how to go about doing that. But is that gonna stop her from trying? No, not really. Best she can do is follow orders and take opportunities on her own as they come. She can usually plan little things just fine, though.

After talking things over with Grogan regarding the details of the failed mission, I realized editing that part of the bio was needed to make things work out better. Also added to her Fears.

Edited things are bolded.
