[General Information]

Name: Liand'r
Nicknames: Li, Andy
Titles: None
Age: 21
Birthday: September 12 (In Earth Time)
Star sign: Virgo
Gender: Male
Race: Alien; Tameranean
Alliance: Hero
Personality: Liand'r is generally a happy and outgoing person, being a Tameranean he is used to openly expressing himself. Though he has learned to reign it in from time to time. He is hyper emotional, switching between emotions with very little provocation, particularly anger. This is due to experimentation on his mind and body that gives him very little control over his emotions. He still tries, but it is difficult for him. Under normal circumstances, he is a light and sunny person to be around, preferring to read comic books, play games and generally goof around with friends. At heart he's a hopeless romantic and longs for companionship, but is constantly afraid that his difficulty with his emotions will prevent that for him.

[Personal Information]

Height: 5'4"
Weight: 150lbs
Occupation:
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Likes: Comics, Video Games, Sweets, Anime, Mythology, Movies, Romance
Dreams: His biggest dream is that one day he'll be able to control his anger and be normal again, aside from having a successful relationship.
Dislikes: Being angry, overly proud people, scientists (being an experiment), rejection
Fears: Completely losing control of his anger, not finding a lasting relationship, being experimented on again.
Darkest Secret: The fact that he was experimented
Favourite Food: Cake
Favourite Drink: Chocolate Shakes
Least Favourite Food: Mostly anything with cheese
Least Favourite Drink: Anything Alcoholic
Loyalties: Himself for now
Intelligence Level: While he may not appear very intelligent with his constant chipper or savagely angry demeanor, Liand'r was constantly bombarded with knowledge when he was the subject of numerous experiments. He has cursory knowledge of several worlds and has what earthlings would consider a 150 IQ.
Dominant Hand: Right
Strengths: Indomitable will, quick learner, strategic
Weaknesses: Difficulty controlling his emotions is his biggest weakness, other than that his naivety about the actual workings of the world due to being locked away in isolation. He can be very gullible.

Cherished Items:
Pirate Ring: A ring he was given as a gift from a member of the “pirate” crew that took him in after his escape from the Reach research vessel. It was used as a placebo that would help him to calm down when he felt himself getting angry. Even though he knows it has no special properties to help him relax, psychologically it does its job of reminding him of a happier time to calm him. He is slightly emotionally dependent on it and will do anything to get it back if it's taken from him

Philosophical/social viewpoint: Liand'r believes in freedom firstly, due to being a captive for a large portion of his life. Though he may not agree with everything others say or believe, he believes it is their right to have them. Just, don't impose them on others.

Religious viewpoint: He believes in one God, noticing a vast amount of similarities in different world's religions. He feels that they all must have stemmed from the same source and therefore believes in that Source.

Romantic viewpoint: He is a hopeless romantic and hopes that his unchecked emotions don't prove to be an undoing in any relationship he has. He desires to develop a lasting relationship with someone who is willing to look past his, emotional faults.

Biography
Liand'r was a Tameranean noble who was a distant relative to Tameranean royal family. He was born with a rare defect among Tamaraneans, the inability to fly. Due to his defect he was considered inferior to other Tameraneans, but constantly remained optimistic that he could prove himself. Throughout childhood he was continually overlooked because of his disability and constantly had to push himself harder than others to be noticed in training and school. He trained under their fighters to become a bodyguard, being something he knew he could do with or without flight. In spite of his disability, he became a more than competent guard and was trusted by his fellow soldiers and the royal family. In the fall out of the royal family being sold out to the Psions, he attempted to aid them only to be captured as well.

While under Psion captivity, his natural ability to absorb energy was amplified and made to be channeled into different ways, such as through powerful blasts, called Starbolts, or through his body into super strength and durability. While he was constantly bombarded with solar energy, to the point of overload, he was intended to be used less as a ballistic bomb and more as a tactical strike. Because of his intended use, the Psions adapted his body to be able to take in energy from a multitude of star types, though his natural limitations could not be overcome and certain star types are more difficult to metabolize. He remained under experimentation on the Psion ship for years undergoing solar energy experiments and mental rehabilitation. Constantly being prodded to break, but frustratingly retaining his optimism.

After 3 years of experimentation by the Psions, the group conducting the experiments came across a Reach research vessel. He was traded between Psions and The Reach between that time to further enhance his abilities. With their weapon ready for testing after roughly six years total of experimentation Liand'r was fitted with an implant device in his neck created by The Reach. Sold as a weapon of war, he was used to raze cities and end wars with massive displays of power. The device was developed to maintain his emotional state, putting him in insane fits of rage when needed and decreasing his emotional state to being more docile when he was put back. Seeing nothing more they could do without putting him in critical condition or killing him, The Reach research team decided it was time to test the effectiveness of their combined project.

For over a year, Liand'r was used as a weapon, loaned out by The Reach research team to potential buyers in order to see the effects of their experiments on both his physiology and the implant devices' effectiveness. Despite not being in control of his own actions during this time, Liand'r still retained all of the memory of the atrocities he committed while under the devices control. His own personal anger grew at being used in such a despicable way and his already harbored hatred towards his captors only grew more intense. Unfortunately for the hopeful Tameranean that only served the ends of the experimenters as the angrier he became the more powerful he grew, but the implant device and mental conditioning only allowed him to express it on those who he was directed to attack. An endless cycle, his rage grew only to serve the ends of his captors.

While on transport to the next buyer, the research vessel was attacked by a group of refugees turned pirates who were victims of previous Reach activity. In the ensuing scuffle, Liand'r's restraints became weakened. Seeing his opportunity, Liand'r managed to break free from the restraints and tore out the regulator in his escape, earning himself a nasty scar on the back of his neck. During his attempted escape, Liand'r was found by the pirates, who captured him believing him to be on the side of the Reach initially. Once on the ship, they noticed his injuries and came to the conclusion that he was another victim. Deciding to take him in, the pirates helped to acclimate Liand'r to life outside of captivity, the credit for all he knows about the outside world being credited to them. With the crew he gained his love of leisurely activities such as movies, comics, games and the like. It was also during this time where he learned better how to control his powers.

It was here that despite the events of his past he regained his cheerful attitude, but also began to realize that he couldn't fully control his emotions in spite of his efforts. The crew offered to help, teaching him methods to try and, not overcome anger, but not become angry at all. One of the crew members who had become a close friend of Liand'r gifted him with one of her rings. Noticing that his lack of life experience had made him easily manipulated, she told him that the ring was special and would help him calm down if he focused on it. For a while it seemed to work, but over time he began to realize it worked less and less. The results were overall a failure and so the crew opted to simply remove him from situations which would cause him to become angry if they saw the situation deteriorating.

During an event in which the pirate ship was attacked by a rival group, an actual band of space pirates instead of refugees. During the encounter Liand'r began to lose control while trying to defend his new friends. Realizing that he wouldn't be able to prevent himself from becoming angry, Liand'r opted instead to protect his friends over endangering both parties. Fighting his way through the pirate invaders, he made it to the opposing ship and managed destroyed it's controls, barely surviving as the ship was shifted off course. With no crew left to correct it, the veering ship headed towards and crashed on Earth.

[Relationship information]

Friends:
None as of now

Enemies:
Because of his experiences, Liand'r has come to hate any and all members of the Psions as well as The Reach and all of their associates (to include the Beetles)

Family:
None in this timeline

Romantic Relationships:
None in this timeline

[Weapon information]

Weapon name: Starbolts; Blasts of concussive energy from his hands, eyes, or feet. He can shape them at will t perform certain tasks, but they are always the same in type of damage, concussive. Starbolts do generate heat, but only on the far extreme of his output. Considerable effort would be needed for them to melt metal or vaporize water due to heat.

[Other item information]

Item name: Any item that is neither a cherished item nor a weapon would go here. For example armour, med kits etc. Please include an explanation for each item.

[Ability information]

Rage and Aggression Enhancement: Liand'r was experimented on by separate alien forces, beginning with the Psions, who aimed to turn him into a living weapon by modifying his natural ability to absorb and metabolize solar energy. In an attempt to create the ultimate weapon, they boosted and modified his solar absorption, coupled with the Tameranean emotional connection to their natural abilities. The experiments drastically reduced Liand'r's ability to control his emotions, particularly when it come to his anger. As his anger increases, so does his physical strength and the amount of energy he expends in his Starbolts. If his anger goes completely unchecked, he becomes a machine of aggression. At a certain point, his mind becomes directed on a single objective, such as defeating a certain enemy or destroying a certain object. When in this state, while targeting a specific entity, he will remove anything that stands in his way of achieving that goal.

Super Human Strength: Due to experimentation, Liand'r has gained enhanced physical strength. His physical strength was enhanced beyond that of a normal Tameranean. His physical output is tied directly to his anger, and as such increases the angrier he becomes. At base level his strength is in the 90 tons range, above that of a normal Tameranean. When sufficiently enraged his strength increases to the 130 ton range.

Superhuman Endurance and Stamina: He is capable of withstanding the same amount of power he can put out. He possesses superhuman stamina, able to maintain his peak performance for prolonged periods of time.

Starbolts: He can fire beams of focused energy from his hands feet and eyes or in a spherical outward blast from his body due to experimentation. The solar absorption experiments performed on him by the alien Psions granted him the power and ability to channel and project that same energy into destructive blasts called "starbolts". Starbolts are highly concentrated solar energy that possess incredible power.

Starfield Generation: The Starfield is a passive force field around his body that is generated by the same energy as his Starbolts. Another ability he gained due to increased experimentation, the field increases his durability, making his skin resistant to puncturing and more resilient against blunt force and concussive damage. The power of the field fluctuates, though it consistently remains at a level where his skin is bullet proof and capable of withstanding considerable impact above what an average Tameranean could without it. It also extends to objects or people to protect them from the external forces exerted by gravity and physics and what not.

Sunlight Absorption: He passively absorbs and metabolizes sunlight radiation to fuel his powers, but he can also use this actively to increase the amount of energy. When absorbing ambient energy this looks little more than a haze around him as he pulls in light from the area around him. However he can also channel this ability and take solar energy from other beings that feed on solar energy such as plants or even other alien life like Kryptonians or other Tameraneans. The ability to do this requires active, sustained contact and is not instant, requiring time to draw out larger amounts of energy depending on resistance.

[Weakness information]

Emotional Control: He has very little control over his emotions, as previously stated. As his powers are directly tied to his emotions, this could mean that, if saddened or distracted, his power would drastically decrease. Also, while in the preliminary stages of his anger, he is wild and nearly uncontrolled, attacking with reckless abandon. His emotions can change quickly and drastically, which causes his power to fluctuate drastically depending on the situation.

Metallic Chromium: Many Tamaraneans are allergic to Metallic Chromium. When Liand'r is near Metallic Chromium he becomes devastatingly ill and his power is drastically reduced, regardless of his state of anger.

Susceptibility to Mind Control or manipulation: Because of the lingering effects of the device, Liand'r has weakened mental defenses, making him more easily influenced by those with mental powers. Not only that, but he spent a large part of his life cut off from actual sapient interaction outside of experimentation, so he has little to no knowledge on many typical things. As such he is very gullible and can be taken advantage of by people who are convincing enough. Mostly if they make him believe he's helping.

Ok you need your second approval, but I'ma hold this train up for a bit till I can get to the mail you sent me, didn't reply at first cus I got confused but now I see the profile. Gonna need to talk to other mods before we can accept this

Ok this is a warning, do not PM mods concerning profiles. It is all to be done here, if you need a mods notice quote us.

Firstly why has your application changed so drastically since the first acceptance? You do not get to completely rework a profile after acceptance, this is unacceptable.

Secondly I suggest removing all trace of the ring from this profile, namely because this character sounds extremely close to Starfire, in this situation I'd recommend making him the Starfire (or even her brother darkfire) legacy. If you chose this route you'd need to fill out the second section of the legacy format and fill it out.

Thirdly Powers.
No you cannot casually destroy mountains with just fists, nor can you blow up moons with beams, that's treading Kryptonian territory and even they struggle there. Experimentation or not that is too much power for a Tamaranean. You can be stronger than the average but not that far. Also remove all references to the hulk, also you can't control yourself in a rage. Even the hulk doesn't have full control in a rage, he can recognize good from bad at times but even then he can attack his team still. With the amount your character seems be based on rage it's more than likely he'd attract a red lantern ring, he sounds more like a villain than a hero with these attributes.

Finally that is not enough for weakness I feel? It may be able to slide but certainly not with the load out you have now

Sorry, didn't mean to over step. I was just trying to clarify what I was going for, I won't do it again. Secondly, I will work on the issues you had with the profile. I didn't go in and change anything after approval. I edited it after I emailed you but not after Josh Starwind approved it. I was waiting for a response before I changed anything.

I'm not trying to be disrespectful, just trying to defend clarify. I will make adjustments based on your critiques, sorry again for overstepping.

I redid the profile and hopefully made all of the necessary changes. I added a bit to his background to give him more of his own feel going on. Nothing is different, just expanded a little. I added a couple of weaknesses and toned down the power (which, yeah it was quite a bit much going in depth and really looking through what equal characters in DC canon can do). I hope everything is up to code. I even managed to draw up a new picture (Yay!)

Alrighty last few tidbits.

First up just remove the PTSD weakness that is far too hindering for you. The metallic chromium addition is more than enough.

Secondly: Powers.
Rage and Aggression Enhancement: The focused rage would not quite work like that, you can be conditioned to and even sometimes even just direct anger at something yes. However your character becomes "focused" at uncontrollable anger, which would be the reverse. You're going to want to say he can direct his anger as necessary until it's unchecked, at that point he is most likely to attack anything that gets in his way. His main target yes would be the thing that enraged him, however anything that is able to distract attention would then become the main target until it's out the way.
Super Human Strength: I would say make his base strength 90 tonnes, enraged strength 130. This however has room to grow with training. At this range you are stronger than most tamaraneans, Starfire has gone above this but this was due to numerous factors. So for now 130 but can grow with time/training.
Superhuman Endurance and Stamina: Focused rage would not decrease how much stamina he expends. Stamina levels are based simply on how much you do, if he were to go into a rage and do more he would expend faster. As with a "controlled rage" he would still expend more than average due to well, going in for attacks more constantly. Simply leave it at he has superhuman stamina and wear his stamina down in roleplay according to what he does. No need to add how his rage effects it.
Starbolts: Starbolts are essentially just expelled solar energy, this is also something anger wouldn't effect directly. You would be more wasteful and throw larger blasts or even blast more frequently. The output cap would however remain the same. You'd just deplete your supplies quicker due to excessive use in an angered state, there would be no change in actual power potential.

Finally if you want to keep the bio this way I'm going to have to ask you to choose to be either the starfire legacy or darkfire legacy as you're essentially following their paths with this story. Alongside this you're going to need to take the second part of the legacy application and fill that out too

Those are all my issues with powers and such, as with last time hopefully you'll be willing to co-operate.

Gaia username: Destrukktokonn
Wanted legacy/villain: Starfire Hero Legacy
RP sample:
The sound of blaring alarm sirens awakened Liand'r from his stupor. It seemed as though in their panic the scientists in charge of keeping him sedated had neglected to put him completely under. Still weak from the sedation, however, there was little that he could do in his state to break free of his restraints. His eyes darted around the flashing red room, witnessing the Reach vessels designated guardian Beetle march through the room in a rage. The situation must have been severe if they were sending out their Beetle. Liand'r had only seen him a handful of times and most were in stress tests of his ability or when he was taking too long to return when he was sent out on his tasks. The Bronze bruiser exited through the other end of the holding cell, giving Liand'r a crucial piece of information. Normally he was under when they let him out, so he was never aware of the direction of the exit. Wherever their Bronze Beetle was headed was outside of the ship, which meant the exit was through the door to his left.
The ship rocked with another blast from the the aggressors' ship, tossing Liand'r forward, only his bindings keeping him from falling to the ground. Another shot jostled him forward and he could feel something off. The binding on his left arm had loosened. Seeing this as his only opportunity, he decided to take advantage of it. Arcing his back against the wall behind him, he forced his arms forward as hard as he could. He had held out hope for a long time that this opportunity would present itself, he couldn't let the moment slip by. Gritting his teeth, Liand'r struggled and pushed, adamant that if he were to remain a captive, it wouldn't be because he didn't try hard enough. For what seemed like endless minutes he struggled, hearing the raging sound of battle outside of his confines until he finally heard it. The telltale sound of yielding bolts. The left restraint loosened enough for Liand'r to pull his arm free.
Wasting no time, the now freed Tamaranean used the gift given to him by his captives to his advantage, blasting the restraints on his feet and hands, toppling unceremoniously to the ground. Liand'r struggled to his feet, another blast to the ship sending it rocking. His movements were wobbly at best, but he pressed forward towards the left exit, stumbling through the maze of hallways. The attacking force didn't seem that large. At least not if the body count undoubtedly left by Bronze Beetle was any indication. Still, the fact that the attack hadn't ceased was a good indication that the crew was struggling to defeat the unknown assailants. Lost in thought, he barely noticed the sounds of heavy marching feet accompanied by the lighter steps of what he could only assume was a scientist.
“The scanners are reading that there's another group of these pirates in the supply bay. It must be what they were after.” The voice of a woman, though Liand'r could make out few not being fluent in The Reach's language. He was only taught enough to understand commands.
“I told you that the ship needed weapons.” Came the rough, burly voice of one the other party. One he recognized well. Bronze Beetle.
“It's a research vessel, we shouldn't need them. And that's why you were assigned to us.” The lady scientist argued to which the larger armored man just growled. The two of them rounded the corner to stand face to face with their escaped project.
“Maybe if we had weapons, the rest of you could deal with the intruders while I put your toy back in his box.” Bronze Beetle mocked.
“I'll get to the control room and...” The scientist began, turning to run down the hall, but was interrupted by a bolt to the back from Liand'r.
The scientist dropped. Bronze Beetle turned from his unconscious, possibly dead, co-worker to the culprit, his hand still smoldering and his face contorted in a mix a rage and confusion at what he had just done. Liand'r had never used his powers outside of the Reach control, he was unsure how to limit his abilities. Despite his desire to incapacitate the scientist, the amount of power he put into the blast was more than intended. But now wasn't the time to dwell on that fact as Bronze Beetle raised his blaster to the confused Tamaranean. As quickly as he could, Liand'r shoved his hand into the wall of the ship and pulled out a sheet, forming a wall between him and the blast. The force pushed him back, but he braced himself against the sheet wall, shoving the wall back against the Beetle's attack. The force relented and Liand'r stepped back before Beetle's arm blades sheered the thin metal. He advanced on the honestly still confused escapee and swung both blades down. Liand'r grabbed both forearms and pushed back against his aggressor.
“Be a good little whelp. Walk yourself back into your box and we won't have to do this the hard way.” Bronze Beetle taunted. Liand'r glared at him, not fully understanding what he said, but making out the insult and the demeaning tone. His eyes smoldered with energy as he gritted his teeth fighting back against the Beetle. Bronze Beetle was launched into the ship's ceiling while Liand'r was thrown back into the floor from the sudden blast from his eyes.
The blast dented the ceiling with Bronze Beetle's body. The Beetle turned to assess the damage and glared at the sight. A prolonged battle in the ship would surely endanger everyone involved. Especially considering their toy didn't know what he was doing. While Liand'r was still recoiling from his eye blast, Bronze Beetle connected his scarab to the research lab control panel.
“Time to shut you down, whelp.” Bronze sneered. Activating the implant in his neck, Bronze began adjusting the device to forcing Liand'r to drop to his knees, gripping the device.
“No...” Liand'r growled. “Not again, I won't let you...” He snarled through gritted teeth as he labored to pull the device from his neck. Bronze turned his back to the struggling Tameranean, setting his sight to correcting the damage to the ship before finishing off the intruders. A bright green flash caught his attention during the repairs. Bronze turned to the the kneeling experiment to see the Tamaranean subject staggered and bleeding profusely from the back of his neck.
“You're more trouble than you're worth.” The Bronze armored guard huffed, converting his arm into the cannon. As he leveled the blaster at the wounded captive, Liand'r threw his arms forward. Blinding green light filled the room. Bronze Beetle narrowed his gaze at the attack, knowing there was nothing he could do in time. The attack launched the Beetle through the hall before Liand'r collapsed on the deck on the ship.
Bleeding out, his energy expended, Liand'r lost himself to thought as his vision began to fade. He knew that wouldn't be enough to stop Bronze Beetle, but hoped the damage would be enough to distract him. He could feel himself slipping from the blood loss. As morbid as it was, he desperately hoped this was the end. At least that way he'd go out on his own terms. Free from control and having put up a fight.
Are you a fan of the series, are you familiar with this character? Yes
Do you promise to be as active as possible if we grant you this privilege? Yes

Here's hoping I did this well.
