Since the early morning, Xavren's Dining Halls have been transformed to suit the festivities that adorn the night; The Hatching Feast. Tables line up around the room as they are piled with delicacies ranging from sweets, mashed tubers, bubbly pies and, of course, roasted wherry.
Countless tables have been established where expected guests, riders and newly bonded Weyrlings and their dracligns will congregate to feast, converse and endeavor within the nights festivities. This, above all nights, will commence the future of the new Weyrlings and dragonets as they begin their training to become full fledged dragon riders of Xavren Weyr.
On the door is a note:
Congratulations newly Impressed Weyrlings! The adventures are yet to come and we wish you the best of luck! Best Wishes, C'llen, Weyrleader of Xavren Weyr

A tired, yet pleased D'lan stumbled through the door, a bronze blur following him. Can we meet a big dragon? A bronze like me? Or maybe a gold, and a brown and a blue and a green? Can we? Please? The bronze was almost bouncing of the floor, he was so excited. Ooooh, what's that red thing over there? Can I try one of those? Where will we sit?
"Yes, yes, yes, a fruit and sure." He glanced around. "Let me get my food and then we can decide where to sit, okay?" He said, positivly beaming. The dracling was hyper and, shall we say, bouncy, but a small sorce of pride for the boy. True, he would have prefered a brown, but Reith was his, and that was all that mattred. Not hide color, not rank, not anything.
He walked over to the food tables, piling a plate with meat, tubers, and a few sweets. He could get a pie later. On second thought, he took a pie, thinking, I don't want them to run out. It's-
The bronze interjected. When will the others get here? I want to meet my- What was the word?- Cluchsiblings and say Hi. Maybe some will be my friends, do you think?
"I'm sure, Reidear."

T'suki walked into the large hall. She had somewhat settled into her new weyr and had taken the opportunity to change clothes. Given how much she hated gowns, it was only reasonable that her attire that evening would be unique if not elegant. She wore a black tunic over similarly tinted slacks. An inky leather belt embroidered with silver thread accentuated her figure. Silver buckled slate-grey wherhide boots and a black coat made of the lightest fabric whose trim and sleeves were embroidered with impossible patterns using silver thread completed her look.
She made for a very imposing presence. Her white gold jewelry and platinum ribbons in her hair made a stark contrast with the overall darkness of her clothing.
It makes you look like a mesmerizing wraith, Jareth complimented.
T'suki raised an eyebrow. "Ok, I give, what's a wraith?"
The dragon chuckled. You really should have paid more attention to the Harper. A wraith is an old world term meaning a mirage, or an illusion. Usually attributed to a person that's not there.
"You spend entirely too much of your time gathering useless information," she mumbled.
The hall was not much different to the one in Fort. Jareth peeked in curiously, but there weren't enough guests in there to make the effort rewarding.
Are you going to strain Xavren's wine supply tonight.
"Is the human a jerk?" she muttered before taking a plate of food from a nearby table.
So that is an indisputable "yes", replied the blue in an unamused drawl as he pondered what it would be like to rip Zane's flesh from his bones.
Is there a reason why I shouldn't drink tonight that I am not aware of?
Jareth pulled away from his dark thought and let a hint of a smile curl his lip. Not at all. You're quite the Harper when intoxicated. Well behaved but very insighful if not a bit chatty.
At this T'suki bit back a laugh. You listen in on me?!
I am not one to freely forgo a bit of entertainment. Especially one so freely given.
You know, I think I'll go sober tonight just to spite you.
Ah, my plan worked!
The bluerider gave a small frown wondering if there was any possible way Jareth could make her even more paranoid.

"Um, hello." D'lan said to the girl who had just entered. "Can I sit with you?" He smiled, flashing white teeth.
Who is she? The inquisative(sp?) bronze asked. Is she nice? Can I meet her?
I don't know, I hope she's nice. The bronzerider had discovered how to mind-speak with his dragon, now as natural as breathing air.
Well, okay. Introduce me! The little bronze was practically bouncing.
"This is Reith. I'm D'lan, if you wanted to know." He said smiling again.

"Sure go ahead," T'suki smiled at the boy and reached down to scratch the little bronze's eyeridges, "My name's T'suki, nice to meet you both. I ride the blue Jareth."
If only all bronzes could stay that small and civil, Jareth sighed wistfully as he tilted his head and crooned at the hatchling from beyond the doorway.
"He's going to be a handful," she told D'lan with a chuckle, "I've never seen such a playful bronze before."

Ty, who had dragged Lyr out of the Hatching grounds and up to her weyr and into somthing respectible and yet still pretty, was just finishing putting on a dress of her own. It was sleveless, went to her midcalfs, and had a collor that encircled her neck. It was a dark blue with details donein black thread, with a slit that went up a little farther than her knee on her left leg, reveling her shaply legs and that her skin was naturly dark. Her auburn hair was held back from her face with two clips with vine desins on them. She smiled as she walked to Lyr's room. Meeting the goldrider outside the door, she dragged her down to the food.
Ty walked through the door of the Dinning Hall and imidiatly dropped Lyr's hand. She was pretty sure that Lyr would be able to get to the food on her own, now that she was here. Ty turned to the younger rider and smiled. "Come on. I'm hungry. I don't know where you are going to sit, but you're welcome to join me!!" Ty smiled and nodded her head, wves of hair bouncing. She headed off towards the food and piled her plat haig with mashed tubers, rosted wherry and a very large mug of fine Bendon.
Lyr watched as Ty got food and a larg mug of wine and went to go sit down. She looked around and didn't see C'llen. She decided she would wait untill he showed up and then ask where she should sit, untill then she would take Ty up on her offer. After going though the food, she sat down at the tabel with Ty, only with a mug of klah not wine.

D'lan sighed. "He already is. But that's what this is all about, right?" He slid onto the bench, glancing at his food. "Um, is it alright for him to have fruit?"
Of corse it is! And what's fruit? Is it good? The bronze emitted a dragon-like purr as T'suki scratched his eyeridges. Hello, I'm Bronze Reith! He said to the blue. It's nice to meet another dragon! Or is it? I'm sure it is. Are you nice?

The little gren was at to entrence to the Dinning Hall. She saw another dragonet and his bonded. She rushe dover to him, eyes wide.
Heyhey!! I'm Granith!! Who are you??
Faris ran forward, following Granith. When she got to the doorway she stopped dead, as if she had run into a wall. S-s0 m-m-manny p-pe-people!! I-I'm sorry! I-i'm sorry! I'd-din't mean too/ I won't do i-it again!! Faris put her hands up to her head, trying to block out the sounds of her former masters, trying to shield herself from the people. Tears poured from her eyes.
MINE!! Granith looked at his chosen, unsure about what to do.

Granith? He said, rolling to word around in his head, as if to see if he liked it. Yes. I'm Reith. Do you want to be my friend? The bronze delicately leaned over and sniffed the green on the muzzle.
"Hey!" D'lan yelled, not unkindly. "Are you okay?" Striding over to the girl by the door, presumably rider of- what was it?- Granith. Looking at the girl almost confusedly, he patted her on the back. "I know it's overwelming, I came here from a small hold, too." He said, trying to geuss at what might make her cry.

((lol rofl Lets see...Up to this moment, Faris has seen seven people in her lifetime. This is more than a lot of people to her. *snorts* She was a slave and her masters told her that if she was ever to escape, everyone whould know she was a slave and the horrible things that she had done and hate her. Therefore she is really afraid of people. I'm gonna wait untill Opaaru has a chance to post, before I have Faris respond, but I sugest someone black the people from her view.))

T'suki frowned slightly. The girl looked a bit battered and certainly didn't look like she was weyrborn.
Jareth closed his eyes and sighed, Her mind feels frightened. People hurt her.
The bluerider frowned even more. There were several places that had the practice of keeping slaves. It was something her father had never allowed within his Hold, but that didn't mean all the other Lords had the same scruples. She grabbed a napkin and walked towards the two weyrlings.
Jareth can you snap her out of it?
I could... the blue sounded uncomfortable with the idea. Despite his familiarity with members of his own specie, Jareth strictly refrained from speaking with other humans, much less tampering with their emotions.
It was one of those things that T'suki wished she could change about him. He was so good at making her feel better and stopping her bouts depression, it was a shame he didn't share his skills with others.
At least keep the little ones busy, they're not going to understand some of this, T'suki said and then lightly placed a hand on the girl's shoulder.
"It's okay," she whispered so only Faris could hear her, "they can't get you here. You're safe."
Jareth warbled a call towards the draclings swishing his blue tail playfully. Let T'suki fix her, he told the little hatchlings, I'm Jareth, who are you?

I'm Reith! Are you a big dragon? I think you are! Wow, will I get to be that big? The little blue shifted his attention from the crying girl to the large blue.
"Hurt her? What-" D'lan began. Relizing what had happened, he stopped, knowing that it would be rude and maybe even make her even more afraid. "She's right, don't worry. You're a greenrider! No one can get you or hurt you or anything else!" He smiled weakly, knowing that she would be panicing.

Hello Reith, Jareth grinned at the dracling's innocence, I'm big enough. But if you listen to your rider you will probably be much larger than me.
He lowered his head so it lay between his forelegs and breathed a wispy thread of smoke towards the two hatchlings.

The little bronze snorted, blowing the smoke away from his eyes. Cool! How do you do that? Will you teach me? The easy-to-please bronze pawed at the haze, watching it dissapate.
Look what he did, Dmine! It's smoke! Reith sent the thought to his rider, watching with glee.
You'll be able to do that, too, someday. The boy sent back, thinking, Wow, a bronze! I still can't belive it. I'm so lucky. Or maybe not luck. He looked with wonder at the tiny dragon, watching the bronze play.

Jareth smiled inwardly. The dracling was so full of life and awe. He could only hope the boy didn't corrupt the little bronze.
Humans, he thought to himself, can be very cruel and fickle creatures.
Am I included in that tally? quipped T'suki as she awaited the girl's reaction.
Of course not, Jareth snorted as if his rider had claimed to be a runner, that's why I chose you.
He then lifted a massive azure claw and reached towards the little bronze. Then with a mischevious glitter in his eye he tapped a barrel nearby. The wooden top broke and the claw was dipped into the dark viscous liquid within.
You will learn a lot of things if you listen carefully, little Reith,, the blue told him softly as he traced a pattern on the ground with his wet claw.
You will be stronger than me most likely, but I will be faster...and you will never catch me, he chuckled and then blew a soft flame onto his masterpiece. The pattern caught fire and crackled wildly. He then extended his other foreleg and beckoned the draglings to climb atop his back.
The view is much better from up here.
