Background: Born to one of her island nation's founding families (and the daughter of two bounty hunters), Mirra Evergreen is next in line to become queen and lead the council. However, she refuses to do so until she has made a name for herself as the best hunter in the world to prove her worth. She travels as simply Mirra, not wanting to use her family name for anything until she is known by her own name. Mirra refuses to hunt just anyone as she has a conscience that tells her just because someone is a pirate it doesn't make them bad and if they are a marine it doesn't make them good (this lesson learn when her much older brother quickly rose through the ranks of marines and he has tried to kill her and thus was banished from their islands). She thinks people are defined by their individual actions. Secretly, she has turned in bounties on bad marines to the revolutionaries. Depending on where she is on her timeline she has met many strong people who are well known and may/may not be friends/have a vendetta against them. Bad marines usually mean a deep hate, same with world nobles.
Other: I ship her with Usopp, Ace, and Law for various reasons. Naming schemes on Emerald Isles typically have girl children taking the mother's name and boy children taking the father's name. As such the respective parent normally grants the first name as well. Mirra was named in hopes of her being a reflection of all the good things of the world. They say her brother was named because her father hoped to integrate into the island's culture and for his son to be a proper lad of that culture.
