64 PEOPLE FIGHTING TO THE DEATH TILL ONE SURVIVES

Let me introduce you to my tournament I've created utilizing the Three Kingdoms. What I'm doing is taking 64 people from the Three Kingdoms period of Ancient China made famous by the novel Romance of The Three Kingdoms and in the west via the video game series Dynasty Warriors. For those who are familiar with it, this is a treat for you to read. For those who are not familiar with the Three Kingdoms this will be an interesting read regardless.

How this works is that I have matched up the 64 people randomly in a 32 fight bracket tournament. For each fight I will update the poll to reflect the current two fighters. Using the poll voting system you the reader will vote whom you WANT to win not who you think will win. Each fight will be up for one week. Every Sunday I will post the Fight and then the Intro to the next Fight. At that time I will also update the poll to reflect the new participants.

For each fight I will also update The brackets to reflect the winners and the losers in the following post. So if everyone is interested in the tournament I will go ahead and post the first fight now as a sample of what is to come.

Also this fight is being hosted on a couple of locations so the voting from all areas are tallied together.

Feel free to comment in this thread about my writing about the fight about the characters about your vote etc... If this thread is in the wrong subforum I apologize and feel free to move it. I am writing these fights for the fun of it and for the writing aspect of it. There are no prizes to be handed out, this is purely a vote and read the fight and enjoy the outcomes

Matchup 1:
Gao Lan:

VS. Chen Dao



Part 1:
Zuo Ci and Guan Lu stood in a giant collosium before a crowd of a massive amount. Guan Lu spoke first and as he spoke his voice boomed across populace and into the sky. "Welcome one and all to a tournament for the ages to know. A tournament that will settle once and for all, who is truly the best warrior beyond even merit." Zuo Ci then followed suit, "This is a simple fight between two people and the winner will live to fight another day. No tricks involved except for those made by the warriors."

"I feel that we shall not stall anymore. So without further ado we shall introduce to everyone in the crowd the first 2 of 64 warriors that will beocme only one warrior before you know it," Zuo Ci stated.

Guan Lu continued where Zuo Ci left off"The first warrior hailing from the forces of Yuan Shao and defected to the forces of Cao Cao. He is a man of certain skill. He is the one Gao Lan." A gate on one side opened up and Gao Lan stepped out. He was clad in white and bore a spear that stood as tall as he with a head that gleamed in the sunlight. He stood poised ready for action.

"And his opponent to open the first fight of this thing comes from the Kingdom of Shu. He is reputed to be a warrior of great notoriety. He is the only Chen Dao," Zuo Ci said introducing the latter warrior. Chen Dao stepped out of the other gate bearing a sword that looked ready for killing and nothing else. "Let the fight begin" No sooner had Zuo Ci finished speaking that him and Guan Lu both disappeared.

Chen Dao and Gao Lan stood each other down from across the arena. Only one thing was on their mind and that was to kill the other at all costs. They both charged toward each other with a ferocity and tenacity that gripped the audience watching from above.

Part 2:
After coming within mere feet from each other, Gao Lan lowered his speared in hopes of an easy victory via skewing Chen Dao. That was not meant to be as Dao parried the strike with his sword and sliced upward towards Lan's face. The blow made the slightest of cuts on Lan's left cheek as Lan himself dodged to the right. Pulling his spear back and letting his hands slide toward the upper shaft of the spear, Lan used the butt of it to trip Dao. Dao went flying face first into the ground losing grip of his sword in the process.

Quickly readjusting his position, Lan turned toward Dao and went to shish kabob Dao while he was on the ground. Dao was quicker than Lan however and as the spear came at him, Dao grabbed the shaft of the spear. With all the might he could muster, he thrusted the spear back at Lan. The effect was instantaneous as the butt of the spear slammed right in the center of the gut of Lan. The wind escaped Lan as did his strength with it. Chen Dao saw this and without hesitation yanked the spear out of Gao Lan's grip.

Without taking the time to turn the weapon about Chen Dao used the butt of the spear once again upon Gao Lan. It had connected into the face of Lan as the snap of cartilage from the nose emitted and the give of teeth from the gums ensued with the pouring of blood from the mouth. As Dao went to yet again smash the spear into the face of Lan in hopes of finishing it off, Lan ducked at the last second to avoid the blow, having regained what little wind and strength he could.

As the spear went above Lan's head and Dao started to follow the momentum of the spear, Lan went to give a swift shoulder into the gut of Dao. Dao, still having more composure than the weakened Lan, simply brought his knee up into the already bloodied face of Lan. The hit was enough to bring Lan down face first into the ground. Dao took the head of the spear and drove directly into the back of Gao Lan's head as he laid upon the gorund, piercing helmet, skull and finally brain.

The crowd cheered at the spectacle that just took place. Chen Dao looked around the arena and dropped the spear on the ground. Dao walked over to his sword and picked it up. One of the arena doors opened and Guan Lu accompanied by Zuo Ci ventured out.

"We seem to have a winner of this bout and a warrior who shall advance to the next round, " Zuo Ci said to all. Chen Dao bowed in respect to the two sages and exited the arena as the victor. Workers came out with a wagon and carted off the body of Gao Lan. Guan Lu began to speak, "There is still so much more fighting to take place so let us continue on with the show"

Matchup 2:
Zhang He:

VS. Cao Cao



Part 1:
"Our first warrior in this bout is known throughout the land as a pretty boy. His skill are however nothing to be joked about. His accuracy is as deadly as his agility. Here is the only Zhange He" As Guan Lu finished his words Zhang He entered through the arena doors. The screams of girls could be heard deafening everywhere.

After the screams died down Zuo Ci spoke out. "The opponent for Zhang He is none other than his long served lord, the man whom is known everywhere as the Hero of Chaos. Cao Cao!" The arena doors on the other end opened and Cao Cao entered dressed in his royal armor. His sword glistened in the sunlight reflecting its sharp edge.

Guan Lu and Zuo Ci exited the arena again to give room for the next two fighters and the bloodbath that was to ensue. As Zhang He and Cao Cao stared each other down, the gong rang through clear and without fault behind its deadly meaning.

Part 2:
The sound of the gong had not yet died and the two famous men were already clashing with their deadly dance of the swords. As each took a swing the other blocked it, parried it or sidestepped to make a strike of their own. Each swing was as ferocious as the last. Eventually Cao Cao took a swing towrds the face of Zhang He. Zhang He easily rose his sword up to block the strike. Cao Cao stepped in close using his strength to press down upon the sword in hopes to use Zhang He's own sword to cut him across his face. Zhang He, who matched him for strength, tried to do the same. The two blades stood there inbetween the two warriors vying for position.

After a few moments standing there in a test of strength against each other, the two finally parted and stepped back staring at each other and circling the while. The sound of steel rang through the air as the two engaged each other yet again. Each swipe was met with another parry. Each thereafter parry was met with another swipe. The two looked as if they were dancing a serenade of death with the swords ringing out through the arena. Not a single drop of blood was found on either blade as the two seemed to match each at a constant.

A sudden thud resonated as Zhang He dropped his sword midswing and dove under Cao Cao's blocking strike. with great speed, He took out a dagger and plunged it into the abdomen of Cao Cao. The great ruler fell down on the ground dropping his sword. He looked up at He with a blank expression before he ceased to see at all. The only blow that connected in the fight was the one fatal blow.

Guan Lu and Zuo Ci came out yet one more time at the end. "Such great back and forth action that would leave choreographers amazed I would have to say. Well one more is down and one more is going on, which means that Chen Dao will be facing Zhang He in the next round" Zuo Ci added, "however we will have a lot more fights before that one"

Zhang Liao:

VS. Dong Xi



Part 1:
"We have two notable warriors from the kingdoms of Wei and Wu in our following bout," Zuo Ci said. "First from the kingdom of Wei, he is an honorable veteran of the field of battle. He served under the most feared warrior in the land and then served under a feared warlord fo the land. He is the one, Zhang Liao"

Zhang Liao entered through the one side standing with a stern expression on his face. His halbred shined in the sunlight. He slowly made his way toward the center.

Guan Lu spoke up, "The other warrior from Wu began his service under Sun Ce and distinguished himself as a capable naval warrior and leader. He is known for his great height and imposing presence. He is the mighty Dong Xi"

Dong Xi entered the other side. He held his own halbred and his face showed that he knew this was no joking matter and was pure business. He strode toward the center like Zhang Liao did. His halbred stood larger than he.

"Let the fight commence!" A puff of smoke soon covered the two sages and when it cleared they were gone. Niether warrior moved and instead locked each other in what appeared a mental struggle for domination.

Zhang Liao stepped close to the presence of the taller man. Both looked at their opponent as if the other wasn't even worth their time. Dong Xi expression suddenly changed into one of rage and determination. He had gone from calm to chaotic in no time flat as he took his large poleaxe and brought it down upon Zhang Liao. Liao, who in instinct knowing he couldn’t block a swing with such force, dove to the side of the larger man. Liao stayed much calmer than his foe.

Xi slowly drew his weapon back to him while looking at Liao, the rage that was behind the swing, now dissipated from his face. Both warriors now stood up facing each other again. Their previous expressions of ignorance toward the other was now gone. They both knew each other capable of the names they carried.

The giant halberd that Xi held came swinging midway at Liao ready to slice him out in two. Liao brought his halberd up vertically and lunged toward the opposing weapon. The strength behind the counter was just enough to slow down Xi’s swing. Xi lunged inward toward Liao and connected with a massive head butt to the side of his head. Xi walked to the fallen warrior and with his own halberd, and started to drive the tip of it toward Liao’s throat.

Liao quickly, and with great ferocity, raised both his feet and kicked the knees of Xi. Xi immediately faltered slightly from the pain and damage inflicted. Liao took his halberd and swung it at Xi’s now injured knee’s taking him out. Before Xi knew what happened he was swept off his feet and went down hard. Liao got and now was about to plunge his own halberd into the throat of Xi, ready to pierce it through. Xi was quick to act as well in response to the threat. Ignoring the pain in his knees, Xi let go of his halberd and grabbed the head of Liao’s halberd and swung it, with Liao still holding it, to his left. Liao was able to steady himself as he was flung to the side. He yanked his halberd back to him tearing the hands of Xi. Xi hollered in pain.

Using what strength he could muster and bearing through the pain in his knees, Dong Xi dove towards Zhang Liao, catching him off guard and tackling him to the ground. Xi gave Liao another head butt, except this time the head butt was directly to the face of Liao. Xi repeated the process many times over. Eventually there was no resistance from Liao as he layed there dead in a pool in his own blood.

Guan Lu and Zuo Ci soon flowed out from the sidelines and declared the victor. "It seems now is a good time to say that after each fight, the victor of each bout will be healed of all injuries sustained during the fight." Guan Lu proclaimed after realizing that Dong Xi was quite injured. Dong Xi was carried out of the arena after the corpse of Zhang Liao was carted off as well.

"Another fight sees its own end. Another person meets their demise at the hands of their foe." The voice of Zuo Ci was heard loud and clear.

Guan Yu:

VS Sun Jian:




Part 1:
“The fight that is about to take place involves to greats from the three kingdoms. Two of the most well known figures and both have been extremely influential in the course of their lives.” As Zuo Ci finished, Guan Lu began. “On one side of this deadly form of entertainment is the man that resides in many a heart feared. His name is synonymous with war itself. He is also one of extreme loyalty. I give you, Guan Yu.” As Guan Lu finished, a rather tall man comparable to that of the previous fighter, Guan Yu stepped out. He carried with him his iconic guandao, Green Dragon Crescent Blade, at his side. Guan Yu walked with a purpose to the center of the arena.

When Guan Yu reached the center of the arena Guan Lu began again. “His opponent is a man responsible for a chain reaction of immense proportions throughout the southland. He was one of the most charismatic leaders of the realm. He is the one and only Sun Jian.” Sun Jian entered donning his red armor with tiger stripes. He walked toward the center with a cheerful smile. His sword hung loosely at his side.

The two icons met in the center of the arena just waiting for the go ahead. There expressions contradicted each other but not their desire. Their desire to beat the other in this duel weighed heavily on both minds. Each placed their hands on their weapons ready to draw, ready to maim, ready to defend, and ready to win. When the crowd died down to a silence Zuo Ci spoke up. “Begin”

No sooner had the word entered the air around the ears of the combatants then the two brought out their instruments of death and swung to start of the bout. Guan Lu and Zuo Ci left as the fight got under way. The ground was going to be clean no more.
