Kaz's mother.

---Don't hurt him! It's not his fault!

---Slowly, quietly, the broken fragments of whispers still weaving their tangled webs inside his head as he awoke.

---Capricorn - If you're forging your own path be prepared to light your own pyre.

---Aries - Stranger things have happened. Like you. You are happening all the time and should probably stop.

---Grah'n. C'ai c'gof'nn ah fhtagn. Lw'nafh ngkadishtu c'ilyaa.

---Lost one. We call our children to sleep. Dream and know we await.

---The monster is gentle. He is kind and caring. It was him that found the first flower pot, continuously offering it to Kaz until Kaz got annoyed and brought him a packet of seeds. That was the beginning. They are surrounded by flowers but it keeps the monster happy. Kaz sends him out to patrol the perimeter because he's large and imposing. People take things at face value. Humans stay away because he's terrifying, he's unknown. He looks like he would kill you.

It is when things begin to go south, when the humans fight harder, when monsters refuse to go down, that they will understand. It is assumed that Kaz is what is keeping the monster from hurting anyone.

It is the monster that keeps Kaz under control.

The monster is hurt, is making pain and distress chirps and beeps, singing out it's suffering. And Kaz turns, bones cracking with sickening sounds. He turns into the horror that people thinks the monster is and he destroys whatever is in his reach.

When all that is left is blood and bits of gore, the Kaz that is slightly off from human remains, looming over his monster, caring for him. They were children of old gods, born together into this fever dream of a slumbering giant.

--Skotia poisons his victims.

---Astus's senses are a little ********. To him, humans smells damp like the earth after it rains. The smell of rotting leaves is primary. On top of that, there is either a sickly sweet smell or the smell of something more floral. Sweet is for those that are 'safe'. Those that haven't been completely turned over to the idea of killing monsters on sight have the sweet overtones. Those that would kill you the moment they knew what you are, have the floral notes.

Monsters smell of different variety of things to him. Link is like rust, blood. Kaz smells like ash, the stinging sort of smell of something burning. Skotia smells sweet, like a human. Belle smells like the earth, not rotting but just, earthy and warm. Roka smells like cold, like that sharp burning deep in your lungs when you take a deep breath in the dead of winter. Rio smells so strongly of flowers that it's creeps Astus out. He doesn't think he's a danger to monsters alone.

---If Kaz ever leaves his home, he'll discover that most humans will not see him. He passes like mist, a gift from his mother to keep him safe if he was to wander beyond his realm.

--- The Other calls Skotia, Hlirgh. It means heretic.

---Link/Kaz baby is a boy and is named Nacht. He's three-quarters monster.

---Rio has two children. They currently stay with his sister ('Chelle [Michelle] until he can find a suitable place to stay for all three of them. His partner was a monster. Was. Kids are 10 (Madi [Madison] - red hair/green eyes) and 6 (Dani [Daniel] - black hair/pale gold eyes) - partner has been dead for 5 years.

---His person hurt some of those that hunted them down before being offed - they booked it when Rio ripped one guy's throat out with his teeth. At least half of them are still remaining and he's determined to hunt them down.

---He moved around with his kids a lot after the attack, never stayed in one place for much longer than a month out of pure paranoia.
