I wanted to take a break from chopping trees so I typed this up.
If you come back maybe I'd have added some cute little illustrations
and drawings :3.
The Sycamores:
- Hits up to 600HP
- Commonly inflicts poison
- Comes in two delicious flavours; Phantom and Regular.
I hear Phantom has a bit of nutty spiciness to it. Kind of like
black bread with a chilli type sauce spread over it.
Pumperilla:
+ Cheaper heal (15 magic)
+ More available magic points
+ Inflicts poison.
- Intense antidote guzzler (Poison does kill)
- Bad runs are very slow (+3-4 turns)
- Faster bad runs involve more hp pots.
- Heal is the last option in skill list. ( D:< )
Sandman Rose:
+ Great status cleansing heal (Kin reset!)
+ Inflicts sleep status.
+ Slightly higher health points.
- Cannot sustain long battles.
- Magic refresh guzzler for insanely terrible runs.
My Playstyle:
- A good run: 3-5 turns, minimal animation time. Sleep and poison statuses.
- A bad run: more than 5 turns, misses, no status effects, maximum animation.
- Ensure sure kill, (always above 500hp and if not heal.)
- HP pots are expensive in bulk so I try not to use them.
- I refuse to farm Zen gardens for pots. Don't wanna.
- Impatient.
The Verdict:
They're both great kin. I use Sandman Rose for regular Sycamores and Pumperilla against Phantom Sycamores.
Pumperilla has a much better sustain fight than Sandman Rose. If I use Sandman Rose against Phantom Sycamores
I am guaranteed to need several magic refreshes in a single battle. Her damage potential is lower than Pumperilla's and
also more costly. Against a higher health PH Sycamore Pumperilla is definitely the better choice (never ran out of magic
not even with wither.)
Sandman Rose is much faster at clearing regular Sycamores. If she lands her sleep on the first move (and you will always
have the first move, 50 vs 35) and does not miss you can kill a Sycamore and be hit only once. She has enough health to
tank 1 light hit and 1 big hit. Poison isn't a big deal to Sandman Rose as her heal removes status effects. If she gets
poisoned she may have to use her healing skill sooner. Usually you wont need to heal more than twice to kill a regular
Sycamore (you've gotta be especially unlucky.)
Whooo! Lazy formatting.
Pumperilla on the other hand cannot tank damage as well as Sandman Rose can. With Pumperilla I have been killed by a
large attack followed by poison status at just below 500 HP (and that really sucks.) Pumperilla can easily fall below 500HP
from a single hit which mean you need to either use a heal skill or use a HP pot as your next move. You'll either burn through
pots or go through a very slow battle just to kill a single easy to kill Sycamore. If you didn't manage to land poison on your first
turns then you'll be healing until Sycamore does some light damage. A Sycamore slowly dying to poison is also painfully slow.
(Yup I hate animation times.) And the longer your battle, the more likely you contract poison, the more poison you contract,
the more antidotes you need to use...
It's like flu season, no one likes the flu. (I have the flu. Save me D: )
Happy clicking. <3

Snapshot of Sandman Rose's magic limit:
- 10x your max damage skill before your magic bar empties.
- 4x your healing skill before your magic bar empties.
In a bad run vs Sycamores: 5x max damage skills, 2x heal skill, 1x magic. No pots.
