Same world, different versions. Ansem the Wise duplicated a data-world from a company known as ENCOM long ago to make programming and problem solving much more simple. The programs took a humanoid shape and users could access the computer in Ansem's study to make it even easier. When transferred, the users would be given attire to match those of the users, as well as identity disks to show whether they are programs or users. There was also a game grid users and programs could go to play in the light-cycle challenge
Eventually, a new version of said world was created by ENCOM, and was also duplicated. The same thing would happen to users transferred, but the disks were more like rings and there were more vehicles were added, planes, cars, and even jetpacks, as well as a new tournament game. Originally, the losers were de-rezzed, yet in this copy, they are re-rezzed soon after. Even though this is a new one, the original still has its advantages. With a newer, stronger system, the viruses and heartless feeding off those viruses, are stronger. Needless to say, each of them needs it own help from the users.
