But I promise: my posts are never this long during RP. It's the first post I get carried away on. I usually post between 1 and 3 paragraphs at the least (varying in length depending on my health/focus) You'll never get one liners with me. At least that's obvious, haha!

Alana let out a heavy sigh as she exited the bakery she worked at, stopping for a moment to put her bags down, and stretching her back. Letting out a content sigh as her back popped, the demon mage recollected her bags and started the walk to her apartment. Her boss was a kind woman, who often offered to help the girl with her bills. Alana was too proud to accept charity, though, so she tried to stop her. Sometimes, though, her rent would be magically paid on time, and the slimy landlord couldn't bother her for being late on the rent. A small, almost undetectable smile crossed the girl's face, as she believed the woman was genuinely being kind to her. It was an odd feeling, since Alana had grown up with an insanely abusive father. She had the scars to prove that, too. Deadly looking scars on her back, and the scar across her left eye that half-blinded her, and turned silver, which she was very self conscious about. She never really knew what someone being kind to her felt like. Her father killed her mother when Alana was a child, so she didn't have many memories of bonding with her... All she had to remember her mother by were the spellbooks that she had passed down to Alana when she found out that she was capable of using magic, and had both demon blood and the blood of a high caliber magic wielder. She also had an old torn and slightly burnt photo of her and her mother, which she kept in her jacket pocket at all times. She had taken money as well, but that was from the sadistic old man she had the unfortunate task of knowing as her father. She stole a couple hundred dollars and rented out a small loft near her campus. The rent was cheap for what she got in return. The electricity, water, plumbing and the other essentials were free, and she had two (small) bedrooms, one of which she used as her study and storage for her spellbooks and regular reading material, a washroom with a bathtub and a shower, a small kitchen area with a little island counter that she had bought two stools for, thinking she'd get a roommate. Unfortunately most people just annoyed her. She had an old recliner and loveseat in the living space, which was small, but good enough for her. She had a flatscreen television she purchased at a yard sale for a huge bargain, but since she couldn't afford cable, she collected movies and series she enjoyed watching during her downtime, which was pretty much.... never. She had obvious channels like the news and weather, along with one channel that played all the old cartoons she used to watch as a kid. Sometimes she'd feel nostalgic and watch one, just to end up depressed and reminded of the kindness of her mother for watching it with her.
As she was headed homebound, Alana heard some people causing a commotion. The hybrid groaned out of annoyance. "Perfect. The neighborhood idiot gang is at it again. I just wanted a peaceful walk home." She muttered under her breath. She then heard a crash and what sounded like a girl cry out. Alana wasn't about to let those degenerates hurt someone. As she turned the corner, she saw down the alleyway that a girl had been beaten up and thrown into a couple metal trashbins. She sighed. Even if this girl was a stranger, she couldn't let them -- 'Wait a minute! Alana thought in a panic. 'I KNOW her!"
This girl went to her academy, was in most of her classes, and sometimes came to the bakery. She was a quiet and timid girl. One whom she had a crush on, and had since she approached Alana and offered to tutor her in Historical Events classes, after she had apparently noticed the demon mage's failing grades, and the frustrated ripping of the exams when they were returned after being graded. Since Alana had been raised as a demon mage, she wasn't quite up to par with school things. She had only ever studied spells and charms. Most of them either advanced healing spells and protection magic. She did have control over elements, and due to the demon blood she also had the strength of an otherworldly, and a natural dark magic ability. She suddenly snapped out of thinking, noticing that one of the girls, in fact the one nearest her crush... Was Alana's ex girlfriend. That was the last straw for the girl. Her ex had caused nothing but grief and drama, and always tried to hurt people Alana got close to, which was why she tried to not show her feelings for the shy girl she had a major crush on. So that was the game that her ex was playing. Trying to scare the other girl away from Alana with threats and abusive tactics, considering she had two of the boys from the academy that were football players with her. Her ex hadn't noticed her yet, so she continued to harass the innocent girl, not knowing the rage building up inside of Alana. "You think you're so special, don't you?!" The girl demanded, grabbing the bruised and almost definitely injured girl by her collar and throwing her back to the ground. "You're nothing but a freak and a coward! You better watch your back, you little--"
Alana snapped at that point. Setting her bags down, she approached the group. "At your old tricks again, eh?" Alana asked coldly, the darkness in her voice showing she wasn't about to play games with the abusive ex. The girl who had been beating up Alana's innocent crush froze and slowly turned to face Alana, her face pale. "I heard you call her a coward. Considering you had to bring two of the school football morons, I'd say you're the one who was scared of getting caught." Alana's visible crimson eye narrowed, the other silver and scarred eye covered by a black eyepatch. "I believe it wise for you to step away from the girl." She warned. "You don't want to make me any angrier. Trust me."
The football players didn't take kindly to the insults, and one swung a pipe towards Alana's head. Since the girl had seen him out of the corner of her eye, she was luckily able to sidestep and have the boy stumble, before she kicked him in the back, sending him four or five feet back and into the brick wall at the back of the alley. Alana glared at the moron that attempted to assault her, before returning to glare at her ex. "Move away from her. And take your goons. Or I may have to get forceful." She warned.
"W-we're not scared of y-you!" One of the other guys sputtered out.
"Your stammering tells me otherwise. Now, are you going to leave this innocent girl alone, or do I have to kick some a**?" She asked in a calm yet dark voice. "I just got off a long and annoying day of work. I would love to take some of that frustration out on whoever tries something stupid." She said with a dark smirk. "You'd all be wise to leave. I'd hate to get your blood on my jacket."
"You punk! We're not done with you!" The ex girlfriend snapped, prompting Alana to turn back to her, an amused but annoyed look on her face. "You rang?" She replied with an amused tone that infuriated the ex. "SHUT UP, YOU BRAT!" That comment prompted a snort of amusement from Alana. "Well, that's a bold insult to use, considering the reason you're attacking this poor girl is because she treated me with kindness and in doing so, showed me that you were a toxic abusive wretch." Alana replied sharply. "You're just sore because you were found out that you were cheating on me as well. You don't control my life anymore. You can't get me back by beating up an innocent party. Especially since the innocent party happens to be one of the only two kind people I've encountered in this Godforsaken city. So do me a favor and move on. I'm never taking you back. Also move your freakin' self out of the way, or I'll move you instead" Alana growled. "I'm not playing games here! Get lost or get hurt." The visible crimson eye began to glow with magical energy, freaking out the guys that had been there for backup to take down the girl that Alana's ex was so jealous of. The boys started to scramble away, leaving Alana, the girl the demon mage was attempting to protect, and a sore loser. Alana let out a frustrated sigh and grabbed her ex by the arm, twisting it behind her back and then throwing her towards the sidewalk, with enough strength (since she was now using her power) to send the bully completely out of the alley and land on one of the boys who was trying to get her to run. The ex turned and yelled to Alana: "This isn't over! I'll get you for this!"
Sighing softly, Alana looked to her injured classmate and secret crush. She exhaled a deep breath to calm the demon blood, since it was boiling with anger because of her ex. She sighed, seeing the damage that had been inflicted. The poor girl was bruised, had cuts and scrapes, and was almost unconscious. She didn't deserve such abuse... And Alana knew how being abused and scared all the time felt. Kneeling down, she picked up her bags, before following up by carefully pulling her classmate to her feet. Seeing how injured the poor girl was, Alana set her bags down, and picked the girl up, pulling her so she was holding onto her around her neck, riding piggyback, before picking up her bags. Her boss had been kind enough to pay her tab since she needed to fill the fridge again, almost being completely out of food. Alana blushed a bit as she glanced back at the girl she was crushing on, who was currently holding onto her shoulders and leaning against her back. "I'm sorry you had to go through that." Alana mumbled as she left the alleyway and continued towards her apartment. "I don't know if you have a place to go, but it's late and you're pretty badly injured. I figured if I took you to my apartment, I could patch up those wounds, and get you some dry clothes. You'd be able to relax, and I'm not psychotic or a creeper, I promise. I want to make sure you're okay.." She blushed a bit deeper at how she phrased her words. 'I'm not sure about you, but a nice warm dinner sounds good right about now. And despite my appearance and overall demeanor, I don't bite, and I'm a pretty damn good chef.."
Then it hit Alana, and she felt like an idiot. The girl probably didn't remember her, and she never had told her what her name was. As she approached the doors to the apartment, she kicked them open and headed for the elevator to the loft, awkwardly wondering how to ask someone she just offered shelter and protection to; what their name was. She wondered if the girl knew her name as well. As the lift reached her loft apartment, Alana pulled her keys from her pocket and unlocked the door, shoving it open and going inside, kicking it shut behind her. "I...I'm sorry for being so forceful with bringing you here, not even asking if you were alright with it.. I just know that Lea would come after you again if I left you on your own.. Plus your injuries need to be treated.." She explained apologetically, easing the girl so she was sitting on the sofa. Alana brought her keys to the door and hung them on the hook, locking the main doors and bolt lock, before returning to the girl and coming down to face level since she was sitting. "I know we don't know each other by name, yet, or I'm a dork and forgot, so let's fix that. My name is Alana Rei Carter, although I reject the last name since it's my father's.." She said with a warm smile. "What do you go by?" She asked in an unusually soft voice for the way that she acted in school and around town. "I also need to know... Where you're injured. I can help with that.. I just need to find my healing spellbook.. Haven't needed it for a while, so I don't know which to use..." She set down the bags on the counter and took off her jacket, before going to a little table by the sofa, and rummaging through several old looking books. "Here we are." She proclaimed with a relieved sigh. "Advanced healing.. Should mend everything, since almost anything can be healed with this method."
{{OoC:: I figured since we talked about the plot and characters, and how they'd meet a description of the RP wouldn't be necessary for us. If I'm wrong, lemme know. & let me know if I need to edit anything. And don't worry about matching length. I posted a lot to get the general background and look of things. I don't expect a wall of text or essay. Just what you're able to post, and I'll mirror it. I do type a lot sometimes, but don't ever feel you need or have to post as much as I do, although if you want to, don't be discouraged. Kay? ^^ <3
And apologies for the wait.. Like I said in the reply to your search thread where we'd planned it out, I've been dealing with a lot of health issues. And my best friends and their baby have been going through a lot. Their child just yesterday went through open heart surgery. He's only 6 months old, too. But the surgery went well and he's recovering, so I can only hope he recovers and this surgery solves the health problems the poor 'lil guy has
ALSO: I hope you like my pic. Alana has been one of my RPCs for a long time now. ^^
I look forward to seeing your character's appearance. (If you don't mind, could it be an anime pic as well? I always feel awkward RPing with real people's pictures... ^^;; }}
