He began pacing the moment the angel left and was no longer in view. He licked his dry lips and stopped mid pace. He looked thoughtful as if making a plan but his head seemed to tick to the beat of an unseen clock. When it seemed he reached an exact moment, he was off. He scampered towards nearby shadows and moved deftly through them after his quarry.
He wasn't after anything in particular this time.
He just wanted more. To know more.

Melvin was not an idle angel and from the point he left Nuru, he headed straight back to work. It was a long progression of office building visits, small talk, and waiting in offices to be called behind closed doors. Between these were the stops between, brief moments to trade documents and information with the occasional angel. At night, his light would be on as he worked until office hours started once again.
Then Melvin suddenly packed up and went to the train station. The ride was long but once he got off, he checked his GPS on his phone, and headed to thr subway. He got a small hotel and from there his following if Lawr. Before long he moved in but after a week left again to handle the tragedy. A lot of visits whispering into directors and legislation before, exhausted, he took a cab back.
By the time he waved his cab goodbye and moved down the block to the apartment, he was paled and his expression weary with concern.

Nuru followed long and far. Usually waiting outside buildings and peering inside windows curiously. As Melvin's journey finally ticked down to a slow pace and a weary look, he began to follow more closely. Concerned.
This day wasn't much different from all the others, just that Melvin looked more unwell than usual. Nuru couldn't remember the last time either of them properly slept either. His concern led to pushing the boundaries a bit too far.
On this day, he followed Melvin inside. Hopeful that he would discover something useful.
