True to Rep's word, there was someone to let Nuru into the sewers, a very thin and shifty looking woman with gaunt cheek bones and a figure hugging but ragged dress. She opened the manhole cover and gestured down.
"Down there." she said, pointing at the rusted ladder as the scent of rancid death and rot slowly began to drift out of the hole.
In the sewers themselves it was evident what a combination of demonic energies, SIN and a lot of junk food was capable of, strange multicoloured algae and fungus creeping along the walls in strange often almost organic shapes.
The water still ran but like industrial runoff, and here and there what looked like sticks or bones jutted out of the sludge. It was pitch black and almost impossible to smell anything but the wall of smell that was the waste.
Off in the distance, something scuttles, and when approached, strange rats ranging in size from a cat to a horse move through tunnels and when small enough - pipes.
It's a mercy that due to their unnatural size, they appear mostly unable to escape off into the city at large.

Nuru couldn't help but take a moment to admire the woman who let him in the sewers, pausing even to send a wink and a wave her way before plunging into... Well, he hoped he never found out what. His sense of smell was completely overwhelmed and useless in the onslaught.
This made him all the more proud when he finally found and cornered a rat. It was about the size of a medium dog. Just as snappy and snarly as one too.
He tried to focus and do as Rep suggested but struggled at first, forcing him to lash out with his claws, barely scratching the creature.

Failure was out of the question. The rat rounded back on him as if it hadn't felt a thing. Nuru dug deep and braced himself, hands clenched into fists at his sides until the padded hilt of something seemed to form out of nowhere. He lashed out with blades instead of claws this time, the rat shrieking in horror. It was still alive, but clearly in need of being taken out of its misery.

He lunged for the rat but it leapt back to life and scurried out of range.

Nuru threw a dagger at the rat, pinning it to the muck by a foot.

Nuru came up to the rat and slit its throat, ending their life and adding more gore to the sludgy mess already existing in the pipes.

After severing the rat's tail, another rat showed up, this time the size and stoutness of a large pig. At first it sort of reminded Nuru of Thor in an endearing sort of way, then it reminded him of Thor in a way that he realized it stood in his way. That was when he lunged onto its back and dug a sharp blade into its tough skin.

The rat started to buck and attempt to throw Nuru, he dug a second blade into it.

Nuru held on tight to both daggers and the tail he'd already collected as the creature charged head long down the tunnels.

The rat was still charging on until it hit the opening of a too-small pipe and backed right up. Bucking and snarling again.

Nuru was thrown from the creature and it rounded on him, stuck in fight mode. His dagger handles still jutting out of its back like makeshift wings.
Bane is also the MASTER of torture.

Nuru grabbed the rat by its open maw as it went to try and bite his face. He forcefully closed the mouth with his hands.

Nuru threw the animal back by its mouth and it landed backwards, forcing both daggers deeper into its back and ending its life. He shoved the carcass over and retrieved the blades from its back and then used them to sever a second tail.

Nuru found a third rat after a while, this time much smaller than the others. It flit about anxiously with surprising speed. He was barely able to scratch it before it was darting off through tighter pipes that Nuru could barely fit through. He very quickly loathed this one most of all as he found himself rapidly covered in metaphorical and literal s**t.

He'd barely grazed it again before it turned a corner down another pipe.
