 ___________________________________________________________________________ Arthur slept most of the ride, including now. The times he wasn't asleep he found himself roped into a conversation by Aki, but the more time they spent talking the more he became okay with it - enjoyed it, actually. Aki was always so cheerful, and his smile was contagious. Arthur found himself smiling and laughing along with him. Except now. Now he was sleeping, breathing heavily against the window until a speedbump caused him to hit his head hard. He winced as he was forced out of the dark void between dreams and reality, opening his eyes to be pleasantly surprised by a change in scenery. There were palm trees everywhere, and everyone looked as though they hadn't a care in the world. Arthur stared around at all the colorful tourist attractions, his eyes wide with wonder. He turned to look at Aki. " Where are we?" he asked. ___________________________________________________________________________

Akihiko Mori " California!" Aki cheerfully answered, waving to a random passerby who seemed to know him and was clearly excited by his return. He slowed to a stop as a light turned red, turning his head to look at Arthur. " Los Angeles, to be exact. I got a couple friends here who would be glad to put us up for a couple days until we move on." The pierced man suppressed a yawn, clearly tired from the incredibly long ride that he'd driven all the while. " So, we've run away from it all, kid. Any plans now that we're here?" asked Aki.

___________________________________________________________________________ " Wow, I don't know. Everything's so... bright! I want to explore everything!" Arthur breathed as he gazed out again. It was hot. He paused to think. Had they really escaped from everything? They were practically across the nation now, days away from Leon, but the pain was still there. He could feel it trailing after them, looming like a distant shadow. Arthur sighed. Maybe it would go away once they started having their adventure. " I've got some money, so we could always get a hotel room if you want?" Arthur suggested to Aki, not knowing the extent of their stay. Besides, if he needed money badly then he could always shapeshift and trick people. Reminded of the heat again, Arthur fanned himself. " Let's do some shopping soon. I need something for this weather." He suddenly perked up as a sight caught his eyes. " Is that a beach?" he gawked. ___________________________________________________________________________

Akihiko MoriHe waved a hand dismissively. " Nah, Minnie loves it when I mooch off of her. And you're pretty cute, so she'll like you plenty!" The light turned green, and he started driving again. " Besides, I've got a bunch of money saved up from all of my jobs. Don't worry about a thing." Truthfully, when Aki had first started drifting, he had nothing but the clothes on his back. It was only after he started making friends and had to spend less money on hotels and food that he finally was able to save a considerable sum. Glancing to the side, he nodded. " Yeah, of course. This is L.A., remember? If you want, after we shop a little, we can stop by?" he suggested, certain that Arthur would agree.

___________________________________________________________________________ " Y-Yeah!" Arthur said with an excited smile on his face before looking back at the beach. There was a beach down where Black Rose was, yeah, but it wasn't as lively as this one. That one always seemed to have a cloud hanging over it, ready to douse people with rain. But this? There were so many people around! All smiling and having fun and... looking so... good. Arthur shook away Envy's hisses and looked back at Aki. " So, umm, tell me about some of your adventures here," he said. " Like how you met your friends and what you did while you were here." ___________________________________________________________________________

Akihiko MoriHe shrugged, turning left. " There's really not much to tell. I met Minnie a long time ago in Florence. We hooked up a little, then she invited me back here. I came with her, we fooled around at her place for a couple weeks before I had to leave, and her door's been open to me ever since. Her girlfriend's not a big fan of me, but her boyfriend thinks I'm pretty cool, so there's that." He spoke so easily of this woman's polygamous relationships, as though he didn't mind it all, and he really didn't. Aki was so easygoing, it was like he almost never got hurt.

___________________________________________________________________________ Arthur frowned when Aki began talking about his relationship with Minnie. So they were a couple. Would that make things awkward while they stayed with her? Would Aki and her...? Arthur grimaced. Maybe it'd be better if he got a hotel room for himself, or maybe shift into a cat and sleep somewhere... away from them. In a way it was poetic justice, wasn't it? He was running from his troubles with love just to run into someone else's love life. Suddenly, Aki mentioned Minnie's girlfriend - Oh, so she was - and boyfriend. Arthur blinked, absorbing the knowledge. So that was... Oh wow. He never understood how those worked, and he wasn't sure he ever could with Envy constantly getting competitive with the others. " So, uh, when you two were together were you also...?" With others? Like men? Did you have orgies? He wanted to ask, but wasn't sure which to ask first. ___________________________________________________________________________

Akihiko Mori" Hm? Oh no, we weren't really together," he explained. " She wanted me to have sex with her and some of her other lovers, but I was never into it. I'm not that easy going. We slept together a couple times, but at the end of the day, we're just friends. That's why she's fine with you staying with me. I told her that we're together though, so you won't have to worry about her hitting on you." He leaned over to gently nudge the Sin with his elbow. " Just pretend I'm Leon and she won't suspect a thing. Got it?" Aki winked.

He supposed it was okay, but it wasn't like he had to prove it to them with kisses and hugs, right? Looking back out the window, Arthur looked at the stores they passed by. There was one for every kind of style! Even one for ties! " There are so many options here," he said. He turned to the driver. Akihiko MoriAki drove right into a car park, stopping the car and parking it. " Wherever you want. This is your adventure, Arthur." He ruffled the younger man's hair before unbuckling his seatbelt and getting out of the truck.

Akihiko MoriWhile they were still on opposite sides of the car, Aki yawned silently. He was so tired, he wasn't sure how he was still standing! However, he perked up as Arthur was seen, and started walking towards the building. " So after shopping, do you want to go to the beach or to Minnie's?" Honestly, if they went to Minnie's first, he'd pass out on her giant couch the second they stepped in.

" We can rest, then get food, then end the day at the beach." His eyes sparkled with the image of such a great day playing out in his mind. Envy snickered that it wouldn't be perfect without Leon, and that the day would only be disappointing. Akihiko MoriOf course. Well, he'd make himself stand the whole time. That would be alright. Nodding, he held open the door to the building to allow Arthur in, offering a smile. " Sounds perfect to me," he said, ignoring the voice in his head reminding him just how many hours he'd been driving nonstop.
