[Trigger Warning: Buried Alive, Blood, Body Horror]

During the night that he spent alone, in comparison to the previous couple nights that he spent with wonderful company, Zephyr had spent the first two hours of it hanging about his usual spots, having been told that she would be back by a certain time. When she didn't show up, he decided that he would at least do something productive so he wouldn't worry, as he was prone to doing when he got too close to people. As the night rolled into day, Zephyr was mulling about the mercenary hub and looking at a variety of missions that he could take. Sipping on an hour-old cheap coffee, the purple-pink haired meta kept his free hand in his pocket as he continued to read the mission boards, though he did glance over at the door as it opened, revealing a gruff looking guard with a smug look across his face. 'Odd...we don't get guards this early in the morning...' he thought to himself and turned to look back at the board, though something caught his eye - something that the guard had clutched in his hand. Continuing to watch the guard, who walked over to the counter, Zephyr could feel his stomach churning.

As he got to the counter, the guard slammed his hand down on it and grinned, "Attention all Mercenaries - I would like to inform you to not ******** with Lord Eldric." he said with a grin, about to walk off when he was intercepted quite quickly by the purple-pink haired meta who looked from the clump of hair that sent a shiver of dread down his spine. Smiling slightly, Zephyr put a hand on the guards shoulder, sipping his coffee with the other, "Lord Eldric, eh? I had a friend on that mission." as he spoke, his voice went from it's usual smooth, calm one, to one of anger as he dropped the coffee as he grabbed a shadowed blade and held it to the guards throat. "Tell me where she is and I'll let you go with your life." he growled, one of his own eyes slowly shifting to black.

The guard stood there in shock and disgust, "I won't tell a ******** meta like you." he snapped, grimacing as the dagger was pressed against his neck.

"Tell us...or you'll be joining the rest of my precious soul collection in the purgatory of broken dreams." Oblivion cooed, a smile passing his lips as he leaned in and tightened his grip on the dagger, his own emotions running on high alert as the entire scene was playing out in a far too common line for him to be comfortable.

Narrowing his eyes, the guard frowned before quietly saying the location of the place.

"Thank you." Zephyr said quickly before pretending to sink the blade into the guards neck, having the blade vanish before it actually severed the flesh, smiling a little as he watched the guard stand there in shock. Walking away from the taller man, letting him fall to the floor screaming as he thought he had just been stabbed, Zephyr closed his eyes to think. "That place... I haven't been there.." he murmured, having wanted to just shadow slide there, but he wasn't certain of the shadows.

"I have..." Oblivion said simply before taking direct control of the body and closing his eyes, smiling a little as he fell backwards into the shadow and appearing in the shade of a tall, ancient tree. Smiling up at it, a sad look in his eyes, he placed his hand on the bark of the tree and let out a soft sigh. "Around here.." he muttered before relinquishing control.

"Thank you." Zephyr said the words quickly before he took in a deep breath, "HEXXIS!" he shouted, cupping his hands over his mouth, hoping that she could at least hear him.

It had been hours... at least she thought, she had desperately tried to scream out for anyone. Ashral was gone. s**t, she was gone. The pain still set deep inside from her departure. She had eventually gone to trace the bruises on her face. Her left eye stung bad, her lip was busted, nose dried with blood, and a cut across her cheek that was swollen pretty bad now. It was a wonder she didn't lose teeth while she was at it. It had been quite, she hummed to herself, tears in her eyes as she sniffled quietly. Even her hum was weak, throat scratched hard from screaming previously. This was it. This was where she'd die. Contemplating using her curse powers on herself one last time to end this before she died so slowly like this. She closed her eyes, readying herself as she took a deep breath to concentrate, as she could almost hear him call her name, placing a hand against her mouth as she choked back a sudden sob, convinced she was about to die alone in a box in the ground.

She heard her name again...

Was that.. real?

"..zephyr.." she cried weakly, moving to try to hit the box with what little strength she had left. "...Zephyr!!.." she called out a little louder. She was trying to find the strength in her voice to call out loud enough.

Closing his eyes and shouting her name again, he listened after he called a couple times, soon hearing his own name. Smiling a little bit, he ran to where he thought he heard the voice. "Hexxis, can you hear me?" he shouted, trying to pinpoint where she was exactly. He had found out that she had been buried alive, and getting the right spot would be important, for if he was off, then he would spend precious energy in a spot that wasn't where she was.

"Is there anything you can do to help me find where you are? I think I can get you out!"

Hexxis could barely hear him, but he was talking to her. "..I'm here!!.." she called out, still too weak to yell, coughing as her throat hurt so much. She needed to think of how he could find her. Any kind of sign. The box was too small to get enough leverage to try to break the box with her fist. Maybe a sword. It would be tricky. She took a deep breath and concentrated on forming the blade of her weapon, the box so small, she propped it against her shoulder and pushed it outward as it eventually broke through a slit in the wood and out from the soft ground laid over the casket. "Z-Zephyr!!!" she screamed as loud as she could muster through her weak and raspy voice. The hilt pressing against her shoulder as it was just another added pain to her bruised and battered body. She could only keep the sword going for so long with as weak as she was. Hexxis just hoped it was enough to see it. She used all her strength to twist the hilt back and forth, cutting into her skin in an attempt to get the blade to reflect the beams of sun, something to attract his attention before the sword began to fade.

Looking around with wide eyes, the meta nearly tripped over his own two feet as he saw something glinting in the sunlight. Running over to it, he soon found out that it was the tip of a sword - her sword. "I've found you! Hold on, I'm digging you out!" Zephyr shouted, soon dropping down onto his knees and digging, not even bothering to try and use his powers as he was panicking far too much to even think fully.

As the hours passed and he managed to slowly work and dig deeper, he finally hit the top of the wooden casket with a slight scratching sound as his nails hit it. "HEXXIS!" he shouted, struggling to keep the tears from rolling down his sweat covered face as he pulled back and punched the casket, punching it several times and causing his hand to bleed, possibly break, as he finally broke through the wood. Pushing his hand through the hole, he struggled to rip more of the wood top off of it, continuing to do so until he could finally pull Hexxis out of the casket.

Laying there in the dark, she narrowed her eyes, tears in them as she heard him shout, much closer now. He had found her. The sword dispelled as she dropped her hand to her sides. The vague feeling like she'd done this before. Back in the car where she laid in the backseat of the careening car before it crashed. She frowned, moving to bite her lip but winced, forgetting it was still busted, causing it to bleed again. She opened her mouth to call out but nothing would surface, her voice too weak to muster a sound over a small noise of distress. It seemed like ages, the sound of digging, closer and closer. The sound of scratching wood. A smile was trying to form across her face as it was getting harder to keep her eyes open. Her breathing had become shallow and she wanted to reach out but her body refused to move. Was she bleeding out? Her back didn't hurt anymore, but she was sure she was still laying in pool of her own blood from the bullet wounds. She felt sleepy, her vision slowly fading. A light, a sudden bright light. Is this it? She wasn't sure this was the light people talk about before they die.

No, she could barely see hands just before she closed her eyes, her breathing stopping as she lay there, her body at the will of his pull, no resistance. Only dead weight.

Struggling to pull Hexxis out, he sat on top of what remained of the casket, his hands fumbling to check her pulse - she still had one, that was good. Looking her over, Zephyr soon realised that she wasn't breathing. "No. no no no no no no..." he muttered, the tears in his eyes now streaming down his face quickly as he took in a deep breath and pressed his lips to hers, trying to give her the air in his lungs. Pulling back, he took a couple breaths and looked down at her, tears now staining his cheeks as he took in another breath, held it, and pressed their lips together. After several attempts, he sat up, looking down at her with a horrified look on his face, "Hexxis...I'm so sorry.." he whimpered, pulling her closer.

"Listen to my heart, can you hear it sing," he took in a breath, a sob hitching in his throat, "Telling me to give you everything..Seasons may change, winter to spring," he paused again, soon burying his face against her neck, "But ....I love you .....until the end of time.."

But ....I love you .....until the end of time..

What a beautiful voice... so pained... why?...

Why does it hurt so much... to hear such a sad voice...

...Zephyr...

Hexxis winced and started to cough violently, gasping desperately for air as she tried to move her arm but it fell back down. A small whimper of pain as she tried to cling to consciousness, forcing her right eye open to look at him, her left hurting way too much to try to open it through swollen bruising. Her face softened as she focused through blurry vision on Zephyr's tear-stained face. She tried her best to force a smile. "....come.. what may...." she whispered, her voice hoarse and frail. The next few words didn't surface, barely audible as her lips still moved before picking back up again lightly. ".. until... my dying... day..." She struggled to reach up to touch his face but her hand never made it, falling back down yet again and she coughed again. After a few moments, she looked at him, her face bland but showing the concern in her face easily to him. "...i... i'm fine..." she tried to reassure him. "..i..." she tried to resist the tears building up in her eyes again. "..i'm sorry..."

Breath hitching in his throat, he smiled and just rested his face on her chest for a moment, just smiling and listening to her heart beat and her breathing. "G-good... good. you're alive." he whispered, closing his eyes and taking in a deep breath, taking in her scent before he slowly sat up, moving to stand with her in his arms, "Lets...let's take you back to the city, okay?" he asked before he struggled to get out of the ditch, then worked on moving towards the city. "Once...once you're better... we're getting a team card. No ifs, ands, or butts." Zephyr stated as he kept his eyes forward, Oblivion staying silent but keeping an ear out for anything he wouldn't be able to catch.

Hexxis closed her eyes as he rested his head on her chest, that didn't hurt so much anymore, but the wounds still did. "...I told you.... I am.... extremely... resilient..." she forced out the words through scratched vocal cords. As he suggest they go back to the city, she nodded, resting her head against his chest as he carried her. "...let's.. go home.."

She looked up at him with tired eyes as he mentioned a team card, she opened her mouth to object, but he didn't seem like he was going to budge. She smiled faintly but then it faded, replaced by a grimace from pain. "...thank you.... for coming... for me..."

"I would come for you any day, sweets." Zephyr smiled weakly, leaning down to kiss her forehead before he focused on getting the two of them back to what he considered home.

As an hour passed, Zephyr managed to get the two of them back to the Nightclub and up to the penthouse suite where he went to set Hexxis down on the bed. Sitting down next to her, he wiped his brow and let out a soft sigh, "I should get some medical supplies..there...should be some in here.." he muttered to himself, kicking off his shoes before he shuffled around the room to try and find the med-kit that had become standard in the room because of him.

"So, child, tell me what happened. Your skills are far too great for something simple to have distracted you.." Oblivion decided to inquire while Zephyr kept busy searching for the medkit, which he soon found, and made their way back over to the bed.
PostPosted: Fri May 27, 2016 9:50 pm

She strained as she was set on the bed, wincing as she debated whether to even to roll off her back, not that it mattered, her blood was getting everywhere. She sighed, just trying to stay as still as possible, her shallow breathing still recovering. She let him go off to look for a med kit as she heard Oblivion's voice. Malice. Ashral.

Hexxis struggled to try to sit up.

'Ashral....'

'Ashral!!'

'ASHRAL!!'

She looked distressed as her eyes widened. "no... no, she's gone." she suddenly looked to Zephyr.. or Oblivion. "Something weird was happening.. he kept saying doll... it was controlling her... making her push too hard. I couldn't hold her back anymore..... I... she.... Ashral's gone.." Hexxis was obviously scared, the emotion clear on her face as she forced herself to stay sitting up despite the pain. "I... I have to stop her... Tri... she's going to kill him...."

[Warning: Blood, Gore, Body Horror]

The med-kit was dropped rather unceremoniously onto the bed as the eyes went wide, both of them pitch black with the gold standing out quite a bit. "Ashral?" Oblivion said the name slowly, then just slowly started to grin, "You had her with you the entire time?" his grin widened and all of a sudden one of the eyes switched back to white, leaving the other pitch black.

"Oblivion, no, you can't - this - " Zephyr was caught off, soon clutching his head with his left hand as he stumbled away from the bed.
As they seemed to battle, for the first time in her sight, for control, Zephyr let out a distressed noise as he fought with his headmate, a dagger soon forming in his right hand. Reaching to try and keep it from doing anything, he grabbed at the right wrist, but quickly felt his own control over the body weakening quite easily. "Please, no!" He cried out, screaming in pain as the dagger sunk into his back. The right hand soon let go over the dagger and grabbed the left wrist and forced his torso forward as a sudden surge of shadows welled up around him. Taking the dagger, the shadows slid the blade down his back, blood pooling and spilling down his back.

"Please...don't..." Zephyr struggled to say anything else, but was unable to as he screamed out once more, feeling both physically and mentally as Oblivion forcefully separated the two of them. Seeming to appear out of the wound in the back, a tan-skinned shadow with semi-translucent hands, platinum blonde hair, and clothes that could easily be dated to at least a century prior appeared.

"Ahh...how I've missed having a body.." Oblivion cooed, soon running a hand through his mess of hip-length hair. Crouching down, he ran a hand over Zephyrs back and smiled, "I'll be back soon enough..." he whispered, soon glancing back to Hexxis and grinning, "Thank you..for allowing me to find my little Raven" he bowed a little before the shadows welled up below him and he vanished into them, chuckling as he went.

"N-n...no.." Zephyr muttered before he slid into an unconscious heap on the floor.
PostPosted: Fri May 27, 2016 10:23 pm

Her eyes widened further as the sudden struggle for control played out before her eyes. "Zephyr!!!" she forced out, her vocie still hoarse from before. Tears billowing up in her eyes as she watched Oblivion stab Zephyr in the back and emerge. She couldn't find the words to speak as she saw his malice do almost the exact same thing her own had down, only looking a lot more painful. She exhaled shakily as Oblivion suddenly vanished and she mustered all the strength she had to move to the edge of the bed and throw herself down to the floor, hitting hard as she let out a whimper of pain, blood pooling up in her wounds again.

She slowly crawled to him, wrapping her arms around him as she cried. "Zephyr... please don't leave me..." she whimpered.

'Should I-...'

She paused, realizing there would be no answer to her question in her mind. Hexxis decided on her own to transfer most of the wound to herself, a deep gash opening up along her back as she screamed out from the pain. Clutching him tighter, tears overwhelmed her face as she sobbed loudly. "..come.. what .. may.." she whispered before she finally passed out.

Slowly regaining consciousness as the wound transfer had completed, Zephyr let out a groggy pained noise before he shook his head before realizing that he was being held by someone. Someone who was dead weight. Slowly opening his eyes, he squinted before nearly screaming out her name again, though he kept it as a hushed whisper. Reaching up to touch her, he closed his eyes again and focused on healing her, a power he rarely used himself as he was quite fond of pain, but this, this was important. Focusing for as long as he could, he only managed to get a little bit of healing energy to transfer to her, as he was rather unskilled in it.

"Hexxis..please...wake up. You're too important to me to leave..." Zephyr murmured, moving to wrap his arms around her torso, the two of them now stuck on the floor in an odd mess of arms, legs, and blood.
