If it weren't for the professors eyeing the students so observantly, he'd have looked up shamelessly as the girls were flung skyward, giving everyone below a full view of their not-so-battle-ready undergarments. CLANG Tawn was shot upward and forward with less grace than he'd have preferred. He mentally punched himself. Today of all days was not one to be distracted or caught off guard. Twisting, he righted himself so that he was facing forward into the wind. The trees were rushing up to meet him. He wouldn't have much time to pick a landing strategy. Briefly using his Owl Eyes, he spotted a bunch of branches behind a larger branch that should slow him down adequately.
Tawn pressed a button on his gauntlet. Pieces turned and extended, transforming it into its railgun form. With his Owl Eyes, he zeroed in on the larger branch and fired a single slug. It splintered in two just before Tawn came crashing down into the branches behind it. Hitting the ground a second after, he tucked and rolled. He skidded to a stop only a foot from the trunk of another tree.
Phew. Tawn got up, dusting himself off. Aside from a few scratches, his landing was a success. He deactivated his Owl Eyes and turned to begin exploring. Better that he find his objective before something else found him.
