Abraxas landed swiftly as the Bulette became too wounded to continue fighting. Dust flared up into the air around him as his boots met the earth decisively, his scaled armor jingled loudly. Keeping his wings raised and cupped around himself, he did not drop his guard even against an incapacitated foe, or so it seemed. Too much could happen if there was a moments pause and he didn't give the options any other thought for the safety of those included in the fight, not to mention the villagers that would continue to suffer if the creature was given the chance to burrow away and escape.
The Half-Dragon didn't leave it up to chance to assume the creature was dead. He closed the short gap between himself and it, his greatsword prepared for a thrust. He spoke words of arcane power and he was suddenly shown insight through his magic where was vulnerable to strike the monster. As he primed his thrust, his blade crackled with crackling bolts of arcane energy. His powerful arms plunged his blade to the hilt at the base of its neck below its armored plating, dispersing the lethal magical energy from his sword directly into the bulette. The blow, so powerful that it slid the creature's huge carcass a full two feet with his follow-through, did only that with no reaction. The creature was certainly dead now.
Abraxas pulled his blade from the carcass, hearing rather than feeling it drag against pierced bone and sinew. He had spent much of his arcane strength during the fight and felt the recoil now. He breathed deeply to calm his battle-heightened heart-rate as he took stock of the other with him. "Is everyone alright?"
It was more out of courtesy than anything else. He knew Warrik would be fine with his demon-blood traits and Gregory had not partook extensively with the battle. Abraxas had already began walking toward where he had kept his horse out of the fight to retrieve a cleaning rag and oil from his pack to begin cleaning his weapon and armor.

"Aye, but will be better still, with a glass of Ale to quench my throat after a battle well fought." Worrik barked over his shoulder, letting the shaft of his scythe slide though his hand till blade was just above his hand as he whips the blade cleaner with the bottom of his cloak as he rambled on. "Though i doubt this beast is any thing worth eating for all it be, just a stomach with teeth. Though the inn's should have food enough, and drinks abundance for three returning heroes. Aye a beast like this should also catch the eyes of some fair maids as well. What be your type of Lass Abraxas, or do you have a pretty little thing back home? Must have the girls throwing themselves at you with that strength."
Gregory pulls out a cloth from his belt pouch whipping off his blade, eyeing the rambunctious youth as he rambles on. Heaving a heavy sigh the paladin raises his voice to speak over Worrik. "No worse for the fight, as seems you carried more then your fair weight in it. Though I agree about getting us back to town. A glass for ale to deal with undisciplined youths more so then mighty beasts. I think we be better with the Walking Stomach then be the Talking Stomach."
Worrik to engrossed in his daydreams about lovely women, food, and drink missed the verbal jab at his person. "You two can polishes your swords back at the Inn, they'll not rust that quick." Strapping his Scythe onto his back to hurry the others up.

Abraxas couldn't help but smile at Gregory's jest. If only it were but a jest. It was so humorous that he couldn't help from chuckling and hid the lower part of his face, and grin, from sight by looking down at his sword as he cleaned it. with a practiced hand, the Half-Dragon took off the majority of the blood and gore from his weapon with one rag then used another clean one to dress in detail.
"I also agree that we should head back into town, but weapons and armor come first following a fight. The metal may not rust as quick, but the blood will dry and though it may not tarnish immediately it will be harder to clean later after it is dry., Abraxas explained as he finished detailing his sword. He knew the weapon as well as he knew the pattern of his scales. Every etch, crevice, bevel and hard-to-reach place was known so well that he was already applying his oil to protect the blade from tarnishing while in travel and storage. "Not to mention what the blood might do to the felt lining in my scabbard."
He had put off answering Warrik about women, but he knew he would pry if he did not give an answer. "I do not have a particular woman to me, no. The people of Valon may be more accepting of the races in the Mystic Market, but that doesn't mean they throw themselves around at them. There is still pride to be had, but nor was I out and about the town for terribly long periods of time. My gloves are so I can travel and converse fairly with other races that would otherwise despise me at less than a glance.", He said as he ignored Warrik simply wiping the blood from his scythe with his cloak. He had yet still to wear the cloak back into town, and now it had Bulette blood on it in patterns not matching to battle. It looked silly, not to mention the care of the scythe that was now thrown into question.
But Abraxas didn't muse or correct him. The maintenance of his own arms and armor was a very personal thing to him. Through his life's study and practice of the forge under the apprenticeship of his father were these items possible for him to craft on his own. He even rivaled his father in his craftsmanship, yet there were some secrets to the forge that his father would not share, claiming that discovery is a better teacher than an instructor. Warrik may know something he did not, be it intellectual or behavioral in nature.
"I may not partake in the drinking, but good food does sound appealing. We should enjoy it while we're here before we hit the road again. Do you know a good inn for us, Gregory? Or are you the same as us and just simply passing through?, he asked as he finished coating his sword in oil and sheathed it. He began to check his own armor for apparent damage and gore, flaring his wings to manipulate the shade they cast from the sun to inspect how his armor looked in different lighting.

Worrik clapped Abraxas on the back. "Who turns down a good brew? Surely your not child enough to turn down a drink after a brawl? For all you guys like an ol' mother hen or Lady of the court about appearance. How does the likes of you unwind if not with drink and women?"
Gregory finishes cleaning his blade before sheathing the steal. With a roll of his eyes and a shake of his head the older man starts to tie the beast with rope to drag back there trophy. "If you would stop flapping your gums and do your part in the work child we might be on our way? For all I see is a child all talk and no action. Surely you have disappointed more women with that mouth of yours then satisfied though you be demon breed."
Worrik sputtered as he pulled away from Abraxas to help secure the corpse for transport. "You...."
[b"]Save your breath you'll need it for the work of hulling this beast back. For all that your good for as you did little to aid in the fight but be living none dieing bait." Gregory stepped away from the land-shark to turn to Abraxas ignoring worrik's protest of being used like a pack mull. "The White Dove be my suggestion for all the times I pass though on my travels. I don't stay in any one place long, like yourself I be none to welcomed in Valon's religious circles. Not many believe in the old tails and legends."

"Be calm Warrik. Just imagine the drinks and women if you hauled the Bulette back yourself!", Abraxas let Warrik's imagination take it from there. His armor hadn't taken any damage, luckily. Battling on the wing gave him a very distinct advantage, of which the Half-Dragon took full advantage of with decades of practice and precision. He wiped some small bits of dirt before replying to Gregory.
"To the White Dove, it is then. Warrik will probably paint the entire town though.", Abraxas' shoulders slumped, not looking forward to tomorrow and assuming the worst. He would have to locate Warrik, probably help find some of his possessions...
"What sort of tales and legends get people so riled up? Surely they are just that, stories and conjecture. What would it have to do with religious circle, anyway?", Abraxas scoffed as he pulled the Softhand Gloves from his belt and eyed them a moment before donning them. "Surely it can't be all bad...", he muttered even as his claws disappeared as the glimmer of the gloves masked them as normal human fingers. His wings turned transparent and then disappeared all together even as he tucked them under his cloak. His scales disappeared to leave pale skin behind, shortening his snout and giving his crested head snow-white wavy locks of hair. All draconic features were masked to all but the most powerful of arcane magicks. He felt his thumbs against the tips of his fingers. He still couldn't get used to the feeling and dexterity he had with his fingers in the absence of his claws.

"Aye on another tab would be even better. For this is thirsty work and little coin to line the pocket." Slinging the rope over his shoulder the half-demon began to drag the beast back to the town letting his mind wonder to the reception upon there return. Of the women that would fall into his arms that it matter not that he is a half breed. That fact would be forgotten in the face of their victory. Yes they would rejoice in them instead of mock and sneer them. So lost in his daydreams was he that the others two conversation became nothing more then background noise.
Gregory walks to his horse patting the beast on the neck before climbing up into the saddle before he began answering Abraxas's question. "A child born of a union between parents of different races is Taboo, to some a sin punishable by death. Men will fight and die for stories and conjecture for is that not the foundation of all Religion? Stories of gods that men vouch to have spoken with, yet no man can verify his words? Is it not but blind faith in these deities that only the leaders have shared words with?" Though Gregory asked his questions he did not pause for Abraxas to answer instead he continued on with the point he was making. "Yet with this as the only proof, we the masses are expected to believe the tales and the images painted by men now long sense passed. Yet the tales of these gods excite no more then a dragon life span. I have met dragon's young one, I know how long your brethren can live, and I find no knowledge of these gods before that time. Yet the old tales and Legends of the Goddess of Light and her people have transcended beyond the memories of dragons. All Stories hold some truth. My belief that in those ancient tales are the true deities of this world and that the others be no more then mortals that great deeds. Though song and story, followers gathered to them; with no other to place there faith there stories became that of legends. Of these god like heroes and so they where raised above there mortality and put on a pedestal for those who needed something to see to believe in. Men do not like to have there believes questioned Abraxas. Fragile is there faith, and how easily it can be broken. How quick man is to turn his anger to their god when fate turns a cruel hand there way. That young dragon is why I am not looked upon with favor in this country for my believes pull into question there fragile religion." There he ended his point allowing abraxas a moment to speak that he did not allow during his ramble.

"So if we spread stories and tales of Warrik, the Demon-God of Hedonism, Debauchery and Revelry, we may have a new religion on our hands.", Abraxas attempted a jest, yet his laughter was halfhearted. He was intrigued by Gregory's rant. Religion was never a concern or focus for the Half-Dragon, but the tales behind them certainly were interesting. He had merely taken them as just that though, story and legend. He was convinced that if gods and goddesses were so profound then there would be more proof to them than debate and conjecture. Abraxas never concerned himself with it, though his mother had spoken about something of the Goddess of Light and the God of Darkness, yet he couldn't place it. In truth, he had only been half-listening to her. His human half had won him over that day and his mind was fixed on his projects at the forge that he would be working along with his father.
The memory made him frown. He worried for his sickly father and felt torn now, away from home and speaking of false religion with an old paladin and watching a Half-Demon drag a Bullete on his own. He hoped he was on the right path to helping his father. It all reminded him how pointless this all seemed towards his own goal. He had to find the Tinker to start in the right direction, either that be along a quest and journey, or back the way he came back home.
Abraxas mounted his horse and rode passed Gregory and Warrik to lead the trio back. Warrik made impressive headway dragging a huge beast, even just moving the creature was impressive enough. He briefly wondered about the power of a demon compared to that of a dragon.
"I'll take point. The faster you get the Bulette to town yourself, God-Demon, the faster you can have your revelry.", Abraxas joked as he passed up the pair and settled into a pace in front of them. He wasn't even sure if Warrik had even heard him and Gregory's conversation.

"That is a likely possibility. The occult followings are a terrifying occurrence." Gregory let the conversation come to an end there. He could see in Abraxas's eyes that the Half dragon had let his mind go else where; then there present conversation. The thought of occult followings and religious die-hards did nothing but sour his mood and threaten to pull him into thoughts and memories that would not aid their current situation. With Practice that came with time he took several controlled breaths allowing the calm of his surroundings wash over him as he kept eye and ear out for any threats. In the plans as they were the only foes they need worry about be those that burrow beneath there feet. for those on Land and Air would be seen long before they arrived on such a clear day.
Abraxas who had been muttering under his breath the whole time that Abraxas and Gregory were talking just looks up at the half-dragon as if he had lost his mind, having misheard the Abraxas believing him to have said good-demon. "Good Demon? Did I miss that hit up side your head Abraxas? Dragging this Corpse is not as easy as your display in taking the beast down. Why not throw a friend a tanker and hitch your horse to this thing to help me pull it. no girls will throw themselves at me if I return half dead with exhaustion and twice over with thirst."

"No, you misheard me. I said God-Demon.", he said as he turned his horse back around and began rummaging through his saddlebags for his rope. "I thought you wanted to pull the Bulette back yourself? Or would you like to ride my horse after I hitch it up? I think you're better at your knots than I am though.", Abraxas handed Warrik an end of the rope that he had found and began tying the other end to his own horse.

"God-demon?" The half-demon raises an eyebrow as he drops the rope, rolling his shoulder. "Ha! Abraxas my friend I fear you are suffering from a head injury. Though I do like the sound of it, much better then what I am normally called. Dark god or demong-god would be less ackward and more powerful." The idea of being considered a dark god brought a mischievous smirk to his lips.
Greogry shakes his head at worrik with a soft chuckle in his voice. "Abraxas, what have you started? The idea is going to go straight to his head and there will be no living with his ego after this." Featuring to the smirk on worrik's face.
Worrik scuffs at that, turning to the paladin fanning injury to his chest. "Ego? I am a humble man paladin unlike the pompuse aristocracy who rule this lands." Mock insult colored his voice.
"And a rain storm comapred to a hurricane is still a rain storm. I can debate this all day but will you keep Abraxas waiting for your answer about the Bulette?" A calm smile on his face as he brings the two back to the topic at hand.
"I was just getting to that till some upity up Paladin butted in." Taking the end of the rope Abraxas had been trying to hand him, glaring at Gregory.
Greogry put his hands up in a non threatening manner. " my deepest apologies great demon-god, for it seems I have offended your ego."
Worrik rolls his eyes at the man's behavior. "Keep at it paladin and I'll show you my mighty power and you will be in awe of my mighty power.... Though Abraxas even the mighty demon-god find it difficult to drag this beast along the ground as it is not on wheels. I am a demon not a troll built for such things this thing is bigger then I." worrik looks around spotting his horse not to far away grazing. " though a little over zelious to return to town, I'll be right back." Going to retrieve his horse to tie the beat to it as well. Best two beast to pull then one.
((I forgot worrik had a horse opps though it works. And I thought you were not going to change your post? Though I like the changed wording better.))
