⟴ "Thanks for the ride." Jade sighed out sarcastically as her cab pulled up to the university. It was, by far, one of the worst cab drives of her life. Not only had her driver gotten lost three times, she was also pretty sure the guy was stoned. Needless to say, she was just glad she was alive. She paid the guy what she owed and got out of the car quickly. Once she grabbed her stuff from the trunk, the cab left her stranded in front of the building. Of course, she wasn't really stranded, the other first years were also crawling about the area, though most were accompanied by parents or guardians. Jade, on the other hand, had been left to get there on her own. She couldn't say she was surprised, busy parents were something a kid got used to after a while. Letting out another sigh, she placed her headphones neatly on her head, grabbed her luggage and was on her way.
The travel from the parking lot to the dorms was a short walk. Jade made her way down the halls eagerly, checking her dorm information every so often to be sure when she got her room. "...216 ... 216... Ah, here it is." she mumbled to herself as she arrived at the correct room. Fumbling with the items in her hands, she finally unlocked the door with her key and let herself inside. The room itself was bigger than she expected, but it was also extremely empty. Her roommate wasn't there yet, she supposed, giving her the option of beds. Picking the space on the right, she placed her luggage by the foot of the bed and pulled out her laptop from her bag. She set it on the table and opened it up, going into her music playlist. She clicked the shuffle button and the first song began to play. Cranking up her volume, she kept her door open just a crack as she unpacked.
Music playing loudly, Jade sang along chirpily as she placed her clothing into the small closet she had available to her. Her voice was loud and prominent, but she didn't seem to care about who heard her. She was going to be living in the same building as all these nutjobs, might as well make herself known.
