This is the side of Republic City that the president would never showcase. It i the winding streets with no lights and the dark alleys full of the scum of the earth. Some people consider this the best place on earth. Aside from the wicked crime that permeates the area there are some attractions that you could never get anywhere else. Questionable bars? Check. Possibility of a mugging? Oh yeah. Where else would you get food this good?

"H-hey, I don't want any trouble now... ", a man stammered, his back pushed up against a wall and a knife to his chest. Holding him up was a girl dressed in water tribe style, Niyok, a local ne'er-do-well, was her name. Though she stood about a foot shorter than the man, she seemed to have no issues lifting him by his collar, even if it was just a few inches off the ground. Any amount of intimidation helped. She laughed as the man pleaded. "Well it seems like you came to the wrong turf, buddy," Niyok, teased. "Look, I'll be frank here. I don't want to hurt you, and I'm pretty sure you don't want to get hurt... so why don't you open up that pretty little wallet of yours and gimme the cash. What d'ya say?" The man's hands didn't hesitate for a moment to start clambering around his pockets, quickly producing a large wad of bills. Niyok lowered the knife and took the money, "There... that wasn't so hard... now get off my turf." The girl threw the man to the ground, walking off as he got to his feet and ran off. Another day, another sucker.

Niyok stepped out of the alley, counting her pay. She sneered at the bills and turned back at the alley way shouting, "20 Yuans? That's it?" It wasn't as much as she had liked to swindle, but it was enough for a a few drinks and some supper. Niyok made her way around the corner and into a bar she often frequented. It wasn't much to look at, but the patrons were what really made it. She waved the bills as she walked in and a few patrons gave her a thumbs up. "When are you gonna get a real job?" Mac, the bartender, asked. Niyok bulled up a stool and laid the money on the bar. "As soon as your swill starts being worth getting a real job. I'll have the usual." Mac laughed and collected the fair, fetched her a drink and some food, and returned to tending his bar. As he did, Niyok began to enjoy the company of the others in the bar.

In one of the darker alleyways of the underbelly a woman with white hair was meeting someone completely nondescript. They were a nobody, a ghost employed by the Chen Rai to move around unheard and unseen. The information was passed in code and with that the man was gone. It had been a few days and not a word of the Breathtaker being in Republic City had been uttered. But something sure had been written. Anika may not have even noticed it if she had not already been scanning every newspaper from every outlet looking for some word on the arrival of the avatar. There was no mistaking the message though, it had come from Mei Yun. This had left the airbender to contemplate what she had meant by that. Had she been seen fighting the spirit? Even so, not a single ability from Breathless had been used. Underestimating the Lightning Queen could have literal deadly consequences. She could have told Ban Shi Dan about it or even the other master. Mei could have told the authorities. But she didn't. This made Anika hopeful. Deciding it would be a waste of so much potential she walked the underbelly looking for where the lion lemur gets a drink. It did not take too long to find the dive bar. The woman would check for exists first and scope out the area. There weren't a lot of options for escapes considering much of the underbelly was lines and lines of building complexes. No matter, she trusted in her abilities to escape or even duel if needed. Something told her it wouldn't even be that kind of meeting. So she entered the place and chose a seat far from prying eyes, settling in with whisky on the rocks. There was no way in hell she would trust the water from a place like this. How ironic would it be for Anika to die of a virus originating in the mildly grey looking water that flowed through these pipes. The time was just before three, Anika was prepared to wait a bit.

A few days of painful healing had gone by while Mei waited for her bait to be placed in the papers. She knew that Ana was not who she had originally claimed to be, had the chi of a master bender, and was an airbender. She suspected that she was the one known as Breath Taker but in the end that was simply a hunch as she had never seen the woman perform that technique. Originally she had wanted to put the message out straight away but she'd been left with quite a serious spiritual injury after her cleansing backfired. This particular injury was one which needed lots of rest, meditating, and chi healing.

The door of the bar was gently pushed open as sun light hid the newcomer from any curious onlookers. The figure looked around a bit before heading in Anika's direction. From where she was seated Anika would be able to see that it was Mei and while the woman hadn't been able to hide her hair she was sure dressed plainly. Her outfit consisted of a driving cap, a light jacket, some worn pants and matching worn shoes. To most on lookers it'd be pretty easy to write her off as just a wannabe fan girl since at every official appearance and in all her photo's Mei had always been seen in her signature clothes. After some quiet murmurs from some of the other patrons the bar returned to its normal chatter. Without asking whether or not she could Mei simply joined Ana and soon after ordered herself some gin. "Well hey there Ana or should I say light steps? I mean that's not really your name so I guess I shooouuuuld call you Ana but then that's not your real name now either, is it?" she teased with a smile. For one that could know she was a murderer, Mei seemed awfully playful and upbeat towards Ana. Almost like, this was a date to her?

From the moment Mei walked through the door Anika was watching her. Those hazel eyes always with an enigmatic look locked on to whom she would be spending the day (and possibly the night) with. It made sense for her to be dressed like an average civilian even though she was anything but that. She was easy to pick out in a crowd though, that much was for sure. Briefly looking to see if they would have to deal with crazed fans recognizing the woman, Anika was relieved to see absolutely no one in here cared to glance their way for longer than what it took to register that someone new came in. She would hold eye contact with Mei all the way up until that mildly rhetorical question had been asked of her. Smiling softly, she would reach out and pull her tumbler towards her with slender fingers. Lifting the glass to her mouth a short swig would be taken. "No, my name is not Ana. Though much like you in this moment, I have reason to hide my true identity as well. If people come to know of me I may have to disappear for awhile and I don't think I'm ready to go just yet. I hope that won't be a problem, I'd hate for this day to have to end as abruptly as our last time together." And that was Anika actually being sincere. She had multiple motives for wanting to be here in this dingy bar with the spectacular Mei Yun. Some of them were insidious, and some of them were of the salacious kind. Putting the glass back on top of the semi-sticky counter top, Anika would reach to brush a strand of her white hair from her face.

Her appearance from the other day hadn't really changed. Those white locks were mostly kept from her face in two braids while the rest of it fell and framed her face. A smattering of freckles splashed across her cheekbones and nose, fair and smooth skin underneath. Her black scarf was wrapped twice around her neck to keep it short, and underneath that she was wearing an open jacket and a plain white shirt. Tight pants hugged to her like a second skin and the same boots were worn. She was pretty, but did not ever act overly open about that. Anika appreciated her looks because they often got her in and out of situations. Other than that she wasn't vain about it. A finger tapped against the rim of her glass as she cocked her head to the side and raised an eyebrow. "I'm sorry I had to lie and leave, but clearly you were capable of handling yourself." Sure Mei had taken some injuries but no limbs were lost and neither was her life. That had been a victory in Anika's eyes. Living to fight another day was pretty important. The airbender would lean forward on the table and support her head with an arm, chin resting in the palm of her hand. She had covered about half the distance between them. "You wanted to meet with me. What is it that you are looking for?" A straight forward question. Anika only liked to beat around the bush when it came to her and what she was up to. Of course the woman didn't actually have to answer truthfully. After all, Anika's whole initial introduction had been a lie. Would she choose to play the mystery game as well? Anika was positively intrigued as to what Mei's intentions were.

Like any tragedy, it started with a fire. A loud fire, burning in the center of the underbelly. Non-benders charged like mindless monstrosity as they used whatever improvised weaponry they could find to haphazardly assault any bender that they found. While it surely began with only benders, the violence quickly escalated to the point that it was against anyone who vaguely looked like a bender. Spray paint was used to write horrific messages on the sides of walls. "BENDERS NOT WELCOMED." "THE SPIRITS HAVE SPOKEN." "MAKE THE AVATAR PAY FOR HIS SINS" Angry people performed acts of aggression as windows became shattered and people became bludgeoned. One man even stumbled his way through the front door of a bar, where he saw a woman draped in local water bending attire and made a beeline at her. All this violence happened suddenly and chaotically. And yet, despite all of the anarchy, Taylor felt unphased.

The young boy watched this all happen around him as he wondered what everyone could have possibly drank to stimulate this much aggression. He knew the rally was less than stellar, but it did not seem nearly as hectic as the streets. Still, this was the way of the land, and if Taylor did not want to be mistaken as a victim, then he was going to have to be a perpetrator. The boy followed two men who charged into a bar which was already broken into. The two started to wreck havoc with innocent bystanders screaming left and right while Taylor slipped in behind him. He watched as people were terrified, but the boy had other thoughts in mind. On the counter were free sucker candies that the bar tender usually had to rinse the mouth of the stronger alcohols. While not admittedly his favorite brand of candy, it was a crime of opportunity as he got close to the bar table and grabbed the candies. "Got anymore?" He asked innocently to the frightened bar tender who was hiding underneath the counter. Taylor ignored to the best of his ability the chaos around him as he hoped over the counter. This made the bar tender flee as he looked underneath to find more candy.

(To Naomi and Juli. I'm not sure if you're in the same bar as Beth, so I made my post purposely vague for that reason.)

As she thought Ana was not Ana, though who she was remained a mystery for now. When the waitress brought over her drink Mei tugged down slightly on her cap as thanks before taking a small sip. "Oooh how mysterious..." she cooed whiled leaning onto the table with her elbows. 'It's not just really hideous is it? Like like you know, Eleanor?' she whispered across the table with a wink. After taking another sip she reclined back in her chair and rubbed her thumbnail across her nose like a triad member before chiming in again with "Sometimes when the fun ends early it's like being the sad badger mole that can't find its den."

Now of course it came to her important question, what was Mei doing here? After all if she really knew that Ana was the Breath Taker when she could have easily had that fact spread around, but so far as anyone was aware Mei had told no one. Why was that? Who was Mei that she came here alone, and had told nobody? Either somebody completely stupid or somebody that wasn't who the world thought they were. "I'm looking for what I can't find of course" she replied to Ana's question in a rather roundabout and ambiguous way. Honestly speaking it wasn't a real answer. Her face lit up a moment later as she took a sip from her glass. "Oh oh let's play a game! Why don't you try and guess three reasons for why I'm here."

Anika laughed musically once more, no her name was not hideous. Had her name been something like that anyway she would have cherished it for it was hers. There were very little things in this world that she actually possessed. Her scarf, her accomplishments, her name; that was a short list. At that moment they were very close, maybe a few inches a part. She found herself studying the shape of Mei's lips but it was over all too soon. It seemed Mei liked her games, at least Anika did not mind playing. This was a nice change of pace for her. There was no keeping track of countless details and pretending like no tomorrow. If the fire bender didn't know exactly who Anika was there had to at least be some kind of suspicion. Nothing had been said out loud so that was something she wouldn't be the one to bring out. She would lean back in her seat as well, extending her legs and crossing them at the ankle as she crossed her arms over her chest. "Could it be that my first impression had left you wanting more? I hear mid-spirit invasion is the best way to really get to know someone." It was a laced response. She meant it in two ways; the first being that Anika seemed to be worthy company and the other that there was far more to her than meets the eye. Grasping for her glass another swig was downed and again the cup was replaced. When she looked back up her eyes had become serious looking. The tone was instantly changed. "Maybe you're really lonely. Surrounded by thousands of fans and yet no one knows the real 'Mei Yun'. Perhaps the knowledge there was someone else that no one knew around made you want to get to know them, so they could get to know you. Or..." Anika took a moment here, milling over her last question. So much was still in the shadows, how to approach the situation tactfully. During the showdown at the arena not once did she ever get the feeling that the other woman actually wanted to be there fighting the 'good fight'. What help she offered seemed more because it was inconvenient for her to be there with those creatures at the same time. She hadn't rushed to the aid of the civilians like Ban Shi Dan, an obvious do-gooder. Anika felt it would have been too easy if she was actually looking to get down to wreaking some havoc. "Is it that you want someone to shake things up? Has life as the Lightning Queen gotten boring?" There were a lot of ways this conversation could go and Ani was very eager to see the end, but moreso to take the journey with Mei.

The air master's laughter brought a smile to her face, it really was pretty and quite pleasant to hear. After Anika's first response a single finger was raised up to about shoulder level. Did that mean she was right? Perhaps it meant that was simply guess one, or even that it was only partially right. A giggle escaped her lips as she mouthed 'sure was' in response to her joke about the invasion. After her more serious second guess a second finger wiggled up beside the first. What it meant was still unclear however. After her third and final question a third finger was nowhere to be found, confirming that her gesture was either representing correct or possibly partially correct answers. Mei tilt her head to the side with a wry smile before waving only two fingers in the air.

"Looks like our contestant isn't going home with the grand prize but how about a consolation prize Mei? Yes Mei, Ana will be receiving a consolation prize!" With a quick wink Mei blew her a kiss before having some more of her drink and seeming to relax somewhat further. "Mysteries are fun but that's just icing, mmmmmm icing..... anyway I guess in a certain kind of way I am lonely. I mean there's all the fans and I'm constantly being asked out on dates but they're not my opposite." Her left hand reached up and fidgeted with the hat for a moment before she popped it off onto the table, leaning a bit forward in chair as her hand rested on the table next to it. "Listen to me yammering on like an old maid, Why don't we talk about you next Ana? Like for example where do you see yourself tonight?" With those possibly flirtatious words and and a coy smirk, she looked for Ana to answer.

Anika pretended she was truly disappointed in not having won the game. She perked up though at the blowing of a kiss. A gleam in her eyes would transmit exactly how open to that she was, which was very. Now a bit of her was actually discontented at not having guessed correctly. Anika was left to imagine what the winnings were and her mind sure could create a vivid scene. The yet welcome burn of the whisky would keep her focused on the task at hand and away from dreaming in the middle of a conversation. A bit more was guzzled down and that was when Ani raised her hand and tapped her glass for a refill. Opposite? Did Mei really want someone completely boring to be around? That didn't seem correct. When the conversation was turned towards her initially Anika was guarded. There was little she could offer without having to leave out way too many details. Oh. This was taking a turn for the best. An easy smirk spread to her face, eyes narrowing just a bit and hiding that glimmer that would spark between them. Anika would lean forward against the table, looking up at Mei in a rather coquettish manner. "I see myself finishing this whisky, and a bit more. In one way or another I'll be on an adventure. Preferably one where there is significantly less in the way between your body and mine." Mysteries could be fun, but sometimes hitting the nail on the head was more fun. Intentions were fully out there but the day was still young. That decision would be left to Mei. Would they play more games? Either way Anika suspected she would be left satisfied in one way or another.

By the time Niyok heard the commotion in the streets, it had already poured into the bar. Another day, another riot. Not really an uncommon occurrence in these parts of the city, but it was still a major inconvenience whenever it cropped up. Now here it was, cropping up and coming right for her. Niyok quickly jugged the rest of her drink and lobbed the empty mug at her assailant's face. In the midst of the distraction, she scooped up the next nearest mug and brandished it as a pair of brass knuckles and ran at the would be assailant. Her last fight could hardly be called such. Maybe this one would be fun.

Mei grinned pretty large on the inside as she noticed the gleam in Ana's eyes, the one which indicated that Ana was open to sharing a night with another woman. That was certainly very comforting since it meant she wasn't wasting her time here. While this kind of encounter wasn't illegal or necessarily frowned upon it wasn't all that common, even in a place like Republic City. This was turning out to be quite the meeting, or rather date as it seemed to be becoming. Picking up her glass to finish off the rest of the earthy drink she'd raise a brow at her new friend's posture before quietly returning the empty glass to the table while Ana spoke of what sounded like a wonderful tryst. Mei leaned forward to match her and moved in like she was going to kiss her but instead whispered into her ear as their cheeks touched 'It seems the wise tiger hawk, can see ahead of it's pretty little lips.' With that said she pulled back to call for another refill herself. "For round two Mrs. Ana-nymous , if that is your real name, why did you decide meeting with me was worth it?" she asked while her ears began to pick up the rumblings of trouble further down the street.

This particular game was one of Anika's most favorite to play. To each corner of the world had she traveled and stopped many times a long the way. Every village, town, and city held its own slew of interesting candidates for late-night encounters and she had partaken in a few. Men, women; two sides of the same coin. Almost as enjoyable as the act itself was the pursuit of it all. Each time there was a different version of herself portrayed. With a man perhaps she would play the soft-spoken and naive girl. With the next woman maybe she was forth coming and domineering. Each time changed so that every encounter was unique. Anika decided this time to be exactly herself, a rare treat for her partners. The air tensed between them as Mei leaned in, skirting just past sinfully succulent lips. The lightest brush of skin against hers and Anika felt heat rising in her body. She took in a steadying breath that carried a lingering scent of gin on the woman's tongue. That had always been enticing to her. Something about that harsh liquid throwing away inhibitions and revealing true intentions always appealed to her. From the day she left the air temple Anika had loved to partake. These days there weren't very many chances to do so, so when opportunities like this presented herself she loved to jump on them. "Just like me, there's more to you than meets the eye. Watching you, I had a feeling that there were things in your life that you craved. Things that are not easily found. I believe I can help there. As well, there are things that I want, among them; you." Anika said pointedly. There would be plenty of time to talk of other matters once pleasure was out of the way. She still needed to wait on the arrival of more of her organization's agents. There was time to kill and the air bender could think of no better way. A clattering of noise from outside the bar brought a flash of annoyance to her face. Of all times, now? Anika wasn't sure if fate was toying with her, presenting a moment and then ripping it away. Voices were raising and it seemed that most of the actual noise inside of the bar had died down in anticipation of what was about to happen. An earthbender must have felt it coming. That burly man jumped from his chair and stomped on the ground just in time to bring up a slab of rock through the wooden slabs being called a floor and stopping a bunch of thrown objects from reaching him. The sound of glass shattering and a sudden mini-explosion. A molotov, really? Anika cursed her luck and slid from the booth chair, reaching over to Mei and slipping her hand in to hers. Grasping it lightly she motioned with her head towards the back door. There really wasn't any need to intervene, once again it was a fight that had nothing to do with them.

This really wasn't her night, but Anika was hellbent on making sure it became hers. The backdoor leading in to a similarly dingy yet considerably less on-fire alleyway also lead to three of these rioters. Surprise was etched on all their faces and for a moment the two parties would just stand and look at each other. But of course there was a giveaway, and it was Mei's hair. Whether or not they thought she actually was the Lightning Queen was not something Anika was about to stop and ask. One of them screamed rude obscenities about oppressive benders and too-colorful hairdos and charged forth, brandishing a knife. Maybe Mei would have taken care of him in her own way but it was Anika out the door first and between the man and his target. Her instincts kicked in and that man instantly regretted ever partaking in this riot. She deftly sidestepped the knife attack and curled her fingers around his wrist. With a burst of power someone as small as her was probably not expected to have she twisted the wrist and with a quick 'snap' broke it. The man shouted out in pain as he dropped the knife. Catching it in the air Anika took a step forward and shoved her shoulder in to the man's chest, using her free hand to bury the knife in his stomach. He stumbled back to the opposite wall and slumped to the ground as a deep red stain grew on his shirt. The other rioter wasted no time in turning to run but the primal side had already taken over. Dipping low to the ground and spinning with a scary level of balance Anika swept her leg in an arc and shot out a blast of air. The wind traveled faster than the man could run and caught him just before he exited the alley. Before his body even hit the ground she was on him, wrenching his arm backward and driving a knee in between his shoulder blades. Another fast twist and push and this time it was an arm that broke. Anika brought back her fist and drove it hard and fast towards the side of the man's head, knocking him unconscious. The last rioter had positioned himself horribly and was stuck against the dead end part of the alley. Anika was between him and the exit with Mei at the bar door if she followed. Between the two of them was the seemingly dead body. She walked back slowly towards him, slightly adjusting her scarf to a suitable position and brushing a bit of her hair from her face. He was whimpering, cowering, and begging to be let go. Pathetic. She stopped moving just in front of the man she had stabbed and spoke then.

The sudden sound of her voice made the man flinch as if she had thrown a punch. "He's still breathing, I can feel it. Not much time left though, you better hurry." It took all of five whole seconds for the rioter to realize she was giving him free passage. He bolted like a scared chicken-lizard and collected his bleeding friend first before struggling to drag away the unconscious one down the street. Anika hadn't bothered to turn to watch them leave, instead she was watching Mei's reaction to it all. She had refrained from ending the three of them out of respect. After all, she had no idea if the Lightning Queen could be as bloodthirsty as she felt some days. Her philosophy on taking lives had been crafted over her years of doing what she does. It wasn't always that the cruelty humanity possessed would show itself but often enough it did. What if Anika had actually been a regular citizen? Would that man have murdered her? Chances are with the damage he sustained he may not live. That didn't bother her in the slightest and that would be evident in the complete lack of guilt on her face. If he didn't live, that was one less rotten piece of humanity around to plague the world with. Anika found herself spurred on from the rush of battle. She hadn't gotten her fill and needed something to fill the hole. It took three steps to close the distance between herself and Mei. Her body would press close for the second time now and her head would angle upward. Lush lips tasting of whisky and something raw and carnal would steal a kiss. The thin cloth barriers between the two of them couldn't conceal everything, luckily. Beneath that her body was lithe with curves where it mattered. Anika really did have an airbender's body. Her breathing was hastened, the rise and fall of her chest faster than her normal calm state. She was excited from the mixture of the different battles she was fighting right then. "Tell me," Allowing a bit of space between the two of them she would speak in a breathy voice. "Do you think it'd be worth it?" A faint smile and that same playful gleam in her eyes. No matter what happened from here out good times were sure to be had, at least for this little woman.

To feel wanted was not unusual for Mei but to feel wanted in a way that was greater than as a status enhancer actually felt okay. If the many varied angry words weren't a give away the negative effect on the environment sure was as the balance of energy suddenly shifted much darker. Suddenly the bar became a war zone as glass shattered and the building caught fire. The smell of smoke and fire filled the room as Mei glanced around at the ensuing chaos to see a small boy apparently helping himself to some bar candy. He was so busy with what he was doing that the kid didn't even notice an incoming molotov. What happened next was pure instinct as a quick one two punch combo shot off two tiny bolts of lightning, the first one missed but the second one intercepted the bottle causing it to explode harmlessly in front of the bar counter that the boy was behind. Before she knew what was happening next. She felt her hand become entwined with the soft skin of Ana's hand as she was gently pulled away from the table. "The wise hog monkey keeps his head down kid!" she called out while barely managing to grab her hat in time.

The pair made their way to the backdoor for a more stealthy escape since neither bender wished to get involved in this mess but it seemed that fate was against them. There in the back alley they came face to face with three members of the riot. In particular they decided to lump words of misogynist and anti bender sentiment at Mei. She would have protested not actually being Mei Yun but words soon escalated to violence as one of them charged in with a knife. Being in the lead Ana was the first to act, and act she did. Mei watched on as the woman nearly killed one and took out a second before she suddenly decided to let them all go. That was unexpected after the callousness with which she had just soon her attack the first two men. She honestly wouldn't have blamed Ana for killing them, after all they had intended to murder them at best. As the one survivor carried off his injured brethren Mei quickly tied her hair up into a bun and covered it with her driving cap to lower her chances of being spotted again. As Ana came in and pressed up against her Mei embraced her with both hands taking a side of her a** in each. The taste of whisky and Ana's chi filled her mouth as the two locked delicious lips. Ironically Mei was actually far more clothed today than when they had first met but Ana should have still been able to feel the muscles beneath her nondescript clothes as the Lightning Queen was quite fit, even for a bender. As Mei looked slightly down at Ana with a large smile she listened to her question. "Us?" she asked before something strange happened. There was a flash of dark purpleish energy similar to that of a corrupted spirit through her irises, "With the trouble you're probably going to cause me? I doubt it but ******** it, one of my places or yours?"

Mei pulling Anika closer only served to heighten her high. The feeling of being pulled in made her want to get to it even here in this alleyway in the middle of a riot. She was flush against the taller woman now, one hand placed on her hip with fingers curling to hold them together. The other was braced on the wall at the moment to keep them upright. One leg pushed in between Mei's as Anika's tongue delved in to her mouth. It was all so much right now and all that could be done was revel in it all. Not far away were the sounds of fighting and battle. So close to the danger it was as if there were two threads attached to her pulling in different directions. On one hand the nomad wanted to hunt down those who had threatened her and slaughter them. On the other she really wanted to continue enjoying what currently was happening. So it was with slight hesitation that she let the former feeling go and dove head first in to Mei. That free hand made its way to her taut stomach and was snaking its way up when the two were separated for a moment. A flash of initial disappointment gave way to elation. Anika's lips had made their way to the soft skin of Mei's neck, where she smirked in between small sucks and kisses. "I promise it will be fun." She almost missed it, a strangeness to the look in those red eyes. Was it disconcerting? Sure was. But right now there was exactly zero ******** that Anika had to give. Plus, it only served to make things more interesting if that was possible. "Take me to your place." There was little point in sharing that the home Anika had been staying in was not actually hers. In fact it would possibly be mood ruining to share that she had in fact killed the original residents. But that was minor details. With visual reluctance she would disengage from the entanglement and let Mei lead the way.
