History

Unification – Angels only, humanity non-existent, the King rules all

Dissenters – The first Angels begin to show covert dissatisfaction over their reliance upon LIFE and its tight control by the King and the hierarchy

Earth – Earth is created along with Eden as a beloved wayplace between Earth and Heaven. The King turns his gaze towards this new preoccupation.

Science – Heaven experiences a rebellious renaissance with the angels working on making LIFE usage more efficient veering off into studying a new form of energy termed SIN.

Progress – SIN is termed more efficient and potent than LIFE, plentiful in the universe and able to sustain the Host into a new expansion. It is not reliant upon the King and a schism arises between those angels who seek independence – led by the Prince – and those who see the new energy as a threat unsanctioned by the King.

The Corruption – Those who dabbled in SIN realise that the energy has begun to irreversibly corrupt their energy and form, no longer able to consume LIFE or even be in contact with the substance, the very ambient energies of Heaven itself cause them insurmountable pain.

The Betrayal – Some of the most tainted Angels leave Heaven, striking out in search of a place where they can live without the pain that Heaven causes. The Prince leads them to Eden where they lead Adam and Eve, the very blueprint of mankind to original sin. Adam and Eve are cast out and Eden is lost.

The Fall – This act is enough to seize the King’s attention and the corrupt angels along with all of their kin in Heaven are scooped up and given what they had always asked for – a realm they could endure but one which took them far from the voice of the King, steeped in the very energy they sought so long. The fallen ones, termed Demons after their long corruption and led still by the Prince realise a new kind of pain, a deep ache in their very core borne of the absence of the Voice present in LIFE energy. No amount of SIN can sate this.
The Eye – After the fall there came a period of time where there was quiet between the two now disparate factions, the Demons organising themselves into their new home turned prison. They remain dissatisfied with their lot and term it unfair. They rapidly burn through what latent SIN is present in the realm they term Hell.

The Nephilim - The first Nephilim appear

The War - Once again the Prince and his entourage strike out for Earth, remembering that it is supremely rich in all energies and that man, now cast out will have multiplied endlessly. Earth is seen as their utopia, unfairly denied to them for errors they were ostensibly fated to make. The forces of Heaven seek to stop their march and a brutal and bloody war ensues in the lands which would come to be known as Purgatory. In the chaos the ever cunning and adversarial Prince makes it to Earth and opens a waygate. Earth is corrupted.

The Flood – An intervention is made and on request from The Son, The King cleanses the world of the demon’s corruption and restricts their access to the Earth and lending the Angels new capacity to limit the SIN corrupted.

Redemption and Sacrifice – The covenant is completed when Man sacrifices The Son, absolving the punishment received by Adam.

The Sleep – In the wake of the re balancing of the energies and in the opinion of some mourning the loss of so many of his dear children, the King falls quiet, moving out of direct contact with the Angels. The realms are left to govern themselves.

The Truce – The Voice and The Swarm manage to forge a truce which ends the war (at least in a combative sense) and renders Purgatory a neutral zone.

The Now Present day, tensions are high and the truce is hard won.
