Another place, quite far away.
Another base, for them to stay.
They've done their job, and done it well.
When they reach safety, we reach hell.

Gisa looked over at the laptop on the table. "Are you sure you have your information right?" she asked. "You didn't make a mistake? Everything is ready?"

"Yes, no, yes, in that order," Thor replied, pulling up the menu Tyme had set up. Clearly, the half-elf had a sense of humor, because the button was large, red, and read DON'T PUSH ME. An order, of course, that Thor was going to ignore. "Would you like to do the honors, Gisa my dear?" he asked, sliding the laptop towards her.

Gisa's stupid chad gadya ringtone was going off.
Leah opened her eyes blearily. The sun was just beginning to stream in, meaning it was early morning. The whole of Unit 53 was still fast asleep - the last few weeks had been dreadfully boring. They were just sitting and waiting, and there was no word from the Council about how they were all dying from the inside out. There wasn't any interesting news from Justus either. Surely some mundanes had been hospitalized by now!
Oh well. Leah stretched like a cat and looked around the room. Thor had taken the couch, Tyme and Acwel had each taken a chair, and Michael was nowhere to be soon, so Leah presumed he had fallen asleep in the bathtub. There was only one twin bed, and Leah was lying in it now, with Gisa still passed out beside her. The Israeli's hair curled around her shoulders as she clutched her pillow, giving her an innocent appearance. If Leah hadn't seen her personally slaughter targets multiple times, she would've cooed. Actually, Leah would've cooed either way. Gisa was adorable no matter how many people she brutally murdered.
(It actually made her a lot more attractive if Leah was being completely honest.)
As it was, Leah leaned over and gently pushed Gisa's shoulder. It took a few moments, but eventually Gisa cracked open one bright brown eye and glared Leah down. "If it is ******** in the morning, I will kill you."
"Babe, your phone's ringing," Leah replied, and then she settled back into bed.

Gisa glanced at her phone, confirmed it was indeed ******** in the morning, and groaned. Her annoyance, however, was quickly replaced with wariness. What was HQ doing calling so early? It wasn't like they didn't know what timezone Gisa's team was in. The woman frowned. This was probably important. She answered.
"Gisa Meldola speaking, Leader of Unit 53," she recited. "Yes, what can I do for you?" Beat. "Of course it wasn't." Gisa sniffed in indignation. "Our mission thus far has gone without a hitch. We're currently awaiting the Council's next move. If there is a lack thereof, then next week we'll--"
Gisa paused. "...Pardon? I don't understand, what do you--" Gisa froze, suddenly, and her grip on her phone tightened until her knuckles turned white. "WHAT?" she yelped, loudly enough to make Acwel stir. "Why wasn't I informed of this!? Are you saying we--" Beat. "I - I didn't know." Beat. "I - I - we didn't mean--" Gisa took a deep breath and composed herself. "Understood. We'll take action immediately." She hung up and stared at her phone for a moment, trembling.

"Geese?" Leah said softly, reaching out to touch Gisa's arm. "Is everything--"

Gisa snapped away and swung her legs over the side of the bed, getting up. "No. We ******** up. We really ******** up. Get up!" This last part was directed towards the remaining members, who were all gradually beginning to move. "Meeting in ten minutes. Be awake."
Approximately twenty minutes later, a very impatient Leader faced her Unit, who had all crammed together on the couch. Gisa paced back and forth in an agitated manner, muttering to herself.

"Why did you wake us up?" Acwel yawned, scratching the back of his head. "It's early and we aren't scheduled to move out yet."

"The schedule's changed," Gisa said tersely. "We need to go down now, and we need to press those damn Council pricks until they sign the bill. We need an excuse to spread the antidote."
And Gisa told the Unit exactly what she had been told over the phone.

Tyme was pale when Gisa was done. "Oh my god," they whispered. "You mean we - oh my god." They were actually trembling at the thought. "Headquarters is going to kill us."

Acwel's jaw was hanging open, eyes wide with disbelief. It looked strange on his face, as he didn't emote anything very often except annoyance. "Why weren't we informed? Why didn't anyone tell us? Don't tell me nobody knew about this."

"It was just called in this morning," Gisa explained. "Apparently it wasn't thought of as a problem before, but well..."
Gisa explained the second part.

Michael, for once, wasn't smiling. "Well, this is a real shithole we've dug ourselves. One was bad enough, but both of them?"
