I felt the darkness as it tried to pull me down
The kind of dark that haunts a hundred year old house

Eligos woke up early enough to catch the sunrise. It was beautiful and it was one of his favorite parts of the day. Watching the sun rise or fall, it was simply magical to behold. After a moment, he got up and pulled his boxers on. He had thought about flashing his morning wood in Sariel's face, but by the time he would have gotten over there it would have been gone.
"Sariel, get up. Breakfast will be here soon and I want to leave as soon as we're done eating."

Eligos got dressed as he talked to Sariel, hoping that she wouldn't get up right away. He wanted to shake her awake and make her mad. He loved it when she was feisty. After he was dressed and Sariel still hadn't gotten up, he walked over to the sleeping angel and gave her breasts a firm squeeze. He was surprised at how big they were, clearly underestimating her body and feminine prowess.

Eli scurried away before he could get hit by the little angel. He was sure it would do more bad than it would good and just as he was about to say a smartass comment, there was a knock on the door. Eli opened it and got the food, tipping the server before closing the door again.
"Sariel, you need to be dressed and packed before you can eat."
Eli smirked at her and then finished getting dressed, making sure to brush his hair. He pulled his shoes on and then went over to the couch where he started eating breakfast. After both of them were finished with their meal, Eli waved at Sariel to follow him and brought her to the front where his car was waiting for them.

Eli opened the door for Sari and let her get in before climbing into the driver's seat and taking off. He wanted to get home as soon as possible and then he would finally be able to relax.
"You're going to love my house. It's beautiful there. It makes you feel close to nature."
Eli made short conversation with Sariel on the long drive home, making sure to have a rebuttal for every comment that she made as well as a comment of his own.

As they grew closer to his home, Eli grew more and more excited. He couldn't wait to be in the privacy of his home once more. They finally pulled onto his driveway and began the five minute drive to the house. When they pulled up to the gate, Eli made sure that Sariel couldn't see the code he punched in to open the gates. He was going to have to up the security on the manor soon and he knew that, but for now he had the best possible security which Sariel would have to meet later. Eli pulled up to the front of the house and parked the car. He jumped out of the car and took a deep breath in. The air was so fresh where he lived and it was so refreshing. He was going to miss it if he ever had to go back home.

"Come on Sariel. I'll give you the grand tour."

When I'm falling I'm in peace
It's only when I hit the ground
                                            It causes all the grief

Sariel was dead to the world when the demon woke up and didn't hear him at all. If she had, she would have ignored him anyway. As it was, she got a rude awakening when he actually groped her and she woke up with an indignant sort of gasp, too angry to even manage a word as she sat up and glared dagger at him. Practically vibrating with rage, the archangel slowly got up and took her bag into the bathroom, pointedly locking the door behind her. It wouldn't stop him if he really wanted to come in, but she did it anyway. Quickly changing, she brushed her hair to hang down her back and washed her face with cold water to try to wake up, already grimacing. If the morning was any indication of how her life was going to be, she had to figure out a way to escape him and fast.

Making sure her wings didn't touch him, or any part of her touched the demon, Sariel picked at her breakfast. She was too angry to have an appetite and ignored him while she ate, more waiting for him to be done than actually enjoying it herself. Whether he noticed or cared, she sincerely doubted it and didn't care herself if he did. What the demon thought was of no concern to her, unless it came to what he thought he was going to do to her. Then she was worried how she'd get rid of him with no powers of her own. Chewing on her lip, she simply trailed after him to the car, not even saying a snarky remark to him. She was too lost in thought and kept her wings tight together, making sure to sit all the way at the other end of the car to avoid him as much as possible.

Love his house. She sincerely doubted that.

As it was, when they arrived, she had to sigh in dismay. If it belonged to anyone but the demon, he was correct in his assumption. She would have absolutely loved it. As it was, Sariel wanted nothing to do with it and tried to see the code, which of course he hid from her. It would have been nice if he was stupid enough to let her see it, but she had doubted that would happen. Grudgingly getting out of the car when it stopped, she left her drape on the seat. It was warm enough out under the sun that she didn't need it and Sariel stretched her wings out a bit. They were sore and cramped from being sat on, and from being so tense. Under the sun they glowed a bit, even with the collar keeping her magic tightly under wraps.

Eligos could tell that Sariel was irritated and he was slightly disappointed. He wanted her to reveal in the majesty of his house, but it was clear that she still wasn't over him buying her. Eli decided to ignore her bad attitude and lead her towards the garage. The garage was surprisingly quiet as Eli approached which made him frown. It was never a good sign when it was quiet. Opening the door, he was not prepared for the giant Hellhound that leaped and pinned him to the ground. Eli cried out as he was covered in kisses from the great big dog and struggled underneath her for a little bit before he was finally able to get her off.
"Sariel, this is Molly. Molly, meet Sariel. If she tries to run away, it's your job to make sure she stays. Okay sweeties. Oh yes." Eli cooed at the dog which made her wag her tail furiously.

"Molly here is the best tracking hound we've had in awhile and don't let her size fool you. She's also one of the fastest we've had.
"

Eli gave Molly a few more pets before he pushed her away so that they could go about their business. He pointed out where the barn and paddock was and where the lake was before leading Sariel to the house. Once inside, he showed Sariel the house, making sure to leave her bedroom for last. He had already called ahead and order things to be prepared for her. When Eli peaked into her closet, he noticed that it was fully stocked like he had ordered. The bathroom was as well and once he was satisfied, he turned to Sariel.
"This is your room. I'll leave you here to get adjusted and settled in. Once you're hungry, come find me and I shall make you some lunch. Later, we can go down by the lake."

Eli left Sariel and went into his own bedroom down the hall where he flopped onto his bed. It felt nice to be back in his own home where people wouldn't stare at him. He relaxed on his bed for a bit before going down to the parlor where he began to play piano. The music he produced was absolutely beautiful and it would have been hard for anyone not to like.

When I'm falling I'm in peace
It's only when I hit the ground
                                            It causes all the grief

That was fantastic. A hellhound, of all things. She should have expected it and simply watched the pair, clearly irritable. What archangel wouldn't be, put under the thumb of a demon and being groped and humiliated? If she was an avenging angel, she'd at least be able to summon a weapon of some sort and get out. But she wasn't and she reluctantly followed him into the house. It was elegant, tastefully decorated - not at all what she had expected from the demon, but it did nothing to win her over. Neither did her room. It was beautiful, and she was admittedly surprised to find out that she had her own room rather than having to sleep on his floor like a dog - or worse, in his bed - Sariel was doubtful the arrangement would last long. He wanted to push her buttons, not give her privacy.

Being left alone was not something she had expected. Escape crossed her mind, but Sariel was more than aware that the hellhound could catch her and most likely chew her wings off. Shuddering at the thought of losing them, the angel instead kicked her shoes off and looked around, a bit at a loss. She decided to go into the bathroom and inspect it, again caught by surprise at how elegant it all was. "There's nothing more tempting than glamour and wealth," she muttered to herself, running a hand through her hair and feeling like she was going to cry. She wanted to go home, not be in this place.

Sariel felt soiled from having the demon touch her and decided that she might as well take advantage of what privacy she currently had. Stripping down, she took a hot bath, sinking into the water and bubbles with her eyes closed. Her wings were going to get waterlogged, but a few good flaps in the spacious bathroom cleared out any lingering water once she was done. Toweling off, her hair hanging wet around her face, the angel moved back into her room. She could hear music and could only surmise the demon was playing it. Reminding herself that Lucifer sang the sweetest, she shook her head, a yawn catching her off-guard. The archangel suddenly felt exhausted, weighed down by everything that had happened. The bed was large and looked inviting.

Sariel finished drying off and left the towel on the floor, climbing into the bed. She could have cried at how soft it was and let her head drop onto one of the pillows, hugging it gently. After a few minutes she was sound asleep, stretched out on her stomach, her wings splayed open with the sun beating down on her through the window, the hated collar the only thing on her.

Eligos played the piano for a while before he decided that he needed to catch up on some work. Returning to his room, he worked for a few hours before realizing that it was getting closer to lunch time. He hadn't seen Sariel since he had left her in her room, but he knew that she hadn't run away. She would have been stupid to with Molly about. Deciding to search for her later, Eli went down to the kitchen and made himself a simply lunch. Chicken Caesar Salad was one of his favorite meals and he ate it slowly as he mulled over things. He had reported that he had captured an archangel yet, but something was holding him back from calling up Lucifer and telling him. The last thing he wanted was for his little toy to be taken away from him, but he knew that Lucifer wouldn't want her sticking around long. Not unless Eli could make her fall.

After he finished his lunch, Eli returned to the parlor and called Lucifer. As expected, Lucifer was thrilled that he had been as fortunate as to have happened upon an archangel and to have had to forethought to purchase it. But of course, there was a price. Sooner or later, the angel would have to give up her wings and fall or die. Lucifer was hungry for her blood, but Eli made his feelings clear and Lucifer agreed to give him six month to make the angel fall or else he was coming for her.

By the time the call ended, it was getting close to supper time and Eli still hadn't seen the angel. He went up to her room, not bothering to knock and was surprised to find her naked on her bed. She was sleeping and for the first time since he had run into her again, she looked peaceful. Eli took a moment to take in the sight of her looking happy before he went over to her. He gently ran his hands over her body, as if not to disturb her. Finally, he took a few steps away from the bed.
"If I had known you slept naked as well I would have made you sleep with me last night. Two naked bodies are better than one and it helps keep you warm."

Eli rolled his eyes as the angel freaked out, yelling something about common decency and how demons were the worst.
"Yeah yeah yeah. I've heard it all before little one. Now get dressed. It's almost time for dinner."

Between exhaustion, the hot bath and the warm sun on her skin, the archangel's nap turned into one that lasted quite a long time. She was completely unaware of time passing, of anything more than her dreams of home, of Eden. Sariel had no idea that the demon even noticed if she was happy or not, nor how gentle his touch could be if he wished it. Instead all she knew was that he was suddenly standing over her and making fun of her, again. Not that that came as a surprise. Yelling at him, she grabbed at the sheets to try to cover herself, her wings going around herself to guard against him.

Sariel was angry with him, and embarrassed, but she was more angry at herself than anything else when she finally made him go away so she could get dressed. She was angry that she'd let her guard down simply because she was tired - she'd been through worse and hadn't been so stupid, she told herself bitterly. Not bothering to even look in the closet, she just pulled on the dress she'd arrived in, leaving the shoes on the floor. She didn't like heels unless she had to wear them - which was all the time with her masters around, and then in the Hotel.

"Are you always just going to waltz into my room? Why give me one, or a door at all?" she demanded snidely as she came out. He brought the worst out in her, that much was obvious, and she took out the anger she felt towards herself on the deserved target instead.

Eligos laughed when Sariel began to get angry again. This was turning out to be a fun little game.
"For an angel, you sure are angry a lot. You've got to work on that wrath thing."
Eli chuckled and then turned serious for a moment.
"I gave you a room because I'm not going to make you sleep on the floor, but don't be mistaken. I own you and I will do whatever I want with you or to you and that includes walking into your room whenever I damn well feel like it."

Eli shook his head and then sighed. As much fun as having an angel around was going to be, it was also going to be a pain in the a**. Especially if she kept up her attitude. Eli lead her to the kitchen where he began to cook them dinner, deciding to make pasta with meat sauce for the main dish with buttered bread and salad on the side. As Eli cooked, he hummed to himself. He didn't like it when it was silent and so far the angel had offered up nothing in the way of conversation. As he hummed and cooked, Eli mulled over what he would have to do in order to get the angel to fall. The simplest answer was to get her to fall in love with him, but that would mean that he would have to give up on trickster and start being nice to her. Eli wasn't sure if he wanted to do that, especially since he had only just gotten his play thing. Maybe he would reconsider when he began to get bored of making her mad. In a way, it could be a challenge.

When dinner was finally done, Eli sat down with Sariel at the table and ate in silence for a little while. He was considering what to say carefully and finally landed on something that was safe.
"Tomorrow, you and I will be taking care of the horses. They need to be tended to regularly."
Eli knew it wasn't really the gateway to a conversation but at least it was something.

She grit her teeth. She didn't want to be meek and submissive, like an angel really should be, but she couldn't stand to have him needling her about her anger, either. Falling into a sullen silence, Sariel just stalked after him, The reminder that he owned her stung, because she didn't need one. Just having the piece of velvet around her neck, keeping her from escaping or doing anything useful, was enough to hurt her heart every moment. Letting out a breath she'd been holding, the archangel was silent as he cooked, listening to him hum. The hellhound was nowhere to be found, something she was grateful for.

Part of her wanted to starve herself. But she was immortal, all it would do would be to make her cranky and hungry, but not hurt her. Sariel was suspicious of the demon, of what he wanted with her and what he was going to do to her. Relieved that he didn't try to make idiot small talk and just let her be, she sat at the table and looked out the window. The place was beautiful and if it belonged to anyone else, she would have fallen in love with it on the spot. Instead it was soiled to her. Shuddering, she turned away when he put a plate down in front of her. There was no point in trying to poison her, nothing would hurt her, so she didn't bother worrying over something so stupid.

"I'm shocked that animals even let you near them," she muttered. What was the best way to get out of this place? Get the collar off. And Sariel couldn't land on another way to get that accomplished other than be sweet, nice, and trick him into thinking she'd settled for her fate. Was he that stupid? Unwilling to underestimate her enemy, she wasn't sure and figured it wouldn't hurt to test the waters. "I'm also amazed that you can actually cook something that tastes good," was the backhanded compliment she added after another moment.

Eligos laughed when Sariel made backhanded comments about the animals and his cooking. He had spent enough time above ground to have gotten good at cooking for himself, seeing as there was no one else to do it for him.
"Ah but you forget Sariel that I was riding a horse when we first met. You may know him by the name Steed of Abigor, but I call him Bjorn. Maybe you've heard of him? Anyways, horses seem to like me just fine and Molly is a hellhound so it's onyl natural that she would like me."

Eligos waited a moment to see if she would remember Bjorn, but didn't linger on it long. He continued to eat his meal when he heard the fron door open. Pausing for a moment, he listened.
"Daddy, daddy, daddy!"
"Levi, my little junebug! Come here so I can see you."
Levi came running into the room and promptly flung herself down onto her father's lap, she swung her legs under the chair and wrapped her arms around her father's neck. Eli smiled and kissed her forehead.
"Daddy, you'll never believe what I did! I made a whole ship fall under my spell and they crashed right into the rocks! Mom said she's never be more proud of me."
Eligos smiled and hugged his daughter close to him.
"I'm so proud of you. But don't forget that you have powerful demon blood in you as well. You can use that to your advantage."
"Yes daddy, I know. Soon you'll have to train me in combat."
"I think you're deadly enough with just your voice. If I trained you in combat, I'd have to hide you so that no one would use you as a secret weapon."

Eligos booped Levi on the nose and they both laughed. That's when Levi finally took noticed of the angel that was sitting across from them. She blinked a few times, keeping the angel in her sight before she turned back to her father.
"Daddy, you didn't tell me that you captured an angel. You are most impressive!"
"I didn't capture her. I happened upon her at a slave market and decided to buy her."
"Have you broken her in yet? Daddy, will you get me my own angel? Oh please!"
"Maybe when you're a little bit older. As for breaking her in, I only just got her yesterday. She's still adjusting to her surroundings. Are you staying the night tonight little junebug?"
"I can't stay tonight but I'll come back soon!"

Eli and Levi kissed goodbye and just like that, Levi was gone once again. Eli looked at Sariel and raised his eyebrow, daring her to say something bad about his daughter. Naturally, he treasured her and he wouldn't allow anyone to say anything bad about her.
"Her mother is a siren if you hadn't figured it out. Her and I don't get along very well and sadly, she decided that she was going to keep Levi for the most part. Now that she's old enough Levi comes and goes as she pleases.... I've always thought about having another child. Levi is most precious to me and I just adored her when she was an infant. I would like to have that again."

Eli stayed silent for a few moments before shaking his head and then continuing to eat. It was clear that neither his daughter nor the fact that he wanted more children was up for debate and any comments would not be treated with kindness. After dinner was done, Eli looked at the clock and watched as the sky began to darken.
"It's too late to go down to the lake today, but maybe we can go tomorrow afternoon. I can show you the lake house as well."

When I'm falling I'm in peace
It's only when I hit the ground
                                            It causes all the grief

Steed of Abigor...it sounded familiar to her and she grimaced. He was older than her, not by much, but enough to have an advantage against her. And of course he'd been in the human world much longer - she didn't even know how to cook, after all, something every human seemed to do. It was frustrating to know she was at such a disadvantage and Sariel was relieved he seemed to not much care whether he got an answer or not. Working on her food here and there, the angel blinked when she heard the front door open and shut. The demon didn't seem alarmed, but why would he?

Her eyes widened when a girl ran in, obviously related to the demon. Even if she hadn't been calling him 'daddy', her looks alone made a relation between them obvious. Sariel listened, the furrow between her brow deepening as the girl talked about killing people and being proud of it. Of course an angel wouldn't condone that, or even understand their motivations. She frowned when she was taken notice of, like a new pet, and spoken about being broken like a plaything. She was that, to him, but she hadn't resigned herself to such a fate. Her own angel? Biting down the angry words that rose in her throat, Sariel just swallowed the lump down in her throat and closed her eyes, not even wanting to see either of them. It was disgusting.

Looking down at her lap, Sariel was a bit surprised that he said he wanted another child. She had never imagined demons being paternal on any level, or in any way in her imagination. Even she wasn't going to push his buttons and say what she thought about his daughter or his want for more children and the angel stayed silent. The punishment was surely not something she wanted to experience and she wasn't going to go out of her way to get herself hurt.

She could care less about the lake, or the stables, or any of it. "Whatever you say. I don't have a choice in the matter, after all," the angel replied dryly, resting her hands in her lap.

I felt the darkness as it tried to pull me down
The kind of dark that haunts a hundred year old house
I wrestle with my thoughts, I shook the hand of doubt
Running from my past, I'm praying feet don't fail me now

Eligos sat quietly at the table while he finished his dinner, thinking about everything that had happened in the past two days. He wondered how he was going to get the angel to fall in love with him, knowing that it would be the only way to make her lose her wings. Mulling over things, he waited until Sariel was done with her food before grabbing the plates and clearing the table. He washed the dishes and left them to dry, hating it when his house was messing and making sure it was clean and well maintained.

Eligos sat back down at the table and continued to mull over things, wondering what to do with the angel. Finally, he came to a decision.
"I'm going to go take care of the horses and make sure they have everything they need for the night. You can join me if you wish or explore the house and get to know your surroundings. Just remember, Molly will catch you if you try to run away."
With that, Eli stood up and headed towards the stables.

Eligos brushed out all of the horses, making sure to pay extra attention to Bjorn. He chatted with him and made sure that he was doing well and that he was happy. Bjorn meant a lot to Eligos and they had a special bound with each other. It was important to Eli to keep him happy and he promised that they would go out riding tomorrow. After all the horses were brushed out, he made sure that they all had plenty of food and water for the night before locking up the stable.

When Eli was done with the horses, he swung by the shed to make sure that Molly had food and water for the night as well. Upon arriving at the shed, he noticed that she wasn't there and assumed that she was out wondering the grounds. Filling her dishes quickly, he began to head back to the house. It was getting dark and he wanted to make sure that the house was locked up before nightfall. He called out to Sariel and once it was confirmed that she was indeed in the house, Eli began to lock up. He was a private person and enjoyed being able to keep pesky, unwanted visitors out if he so choose to. It just happened that he would rather be able to sleep at night in peace than worry about someone busting into his home.

Once the house was locked up for the night, Eli went and found Sariel. He wanted to make sure that she had stayed out of trouble, but he didn't know what to do after that. It was clear that the angel hated him and no matter what he said, he wasn't going to be able to change her mind so easily.

At least he didn't expect her to do his dishes like she was his maid. The angel stayed still while he was gone, tapping her fingers on her thighs as she looked around. There had to be a weakness she could exploit, either in the demon or in the house, the property, to escape. She couldn't just sit here like a good little angel and expect to be rescued. If no one had come to the Hotel to find her, then they were going to leave her on her own. It had been her own fault to be captured and it seemed she would have to get herself out of her own mess. Grimacing a bit, Sariel smoothed her expression out when she heard the demon coming back into the room. He looked like he was thinking something over and she waited for some stupid order or the like. Instead he actually gave her a choice and she narrowed her eyes, waiting to hear some smart remark or insult. Just a warning followed and she pursed her lips when he left, wondering if it was some sort of trick.

Well, she wasn't going to choose to spend more time with him than necessary. Shaking her head, Sariel got to her feet and returned to her room once he had left. She changed into something to sleep in, slits cut to accommodate her wings - it was impossible to find anything backless to sleep in that wasn't meant to be peeled off anyway. The angel didn't bother to check the closet to see what was there waiting for her, a bit suspicious of anything the demon had to offer. Instead she brushed out her hair again and decided to take him up on his suggestion to wander the house. Not to get comfortable, but yes, to 'get to know' her surroundings. She could hardly plan an escape if she didn't know the layout perfectly. Wondering how she'd be able to escape the hellhound, however, as that was a problem, Sariel frowned a bit while she wandered around. There had to be a way around it, but she hadn't heard of an angel outrunning a hellhound once they were prey - or anything managing it, in fact, which bothered her a great deal.

He was gone for a while, which gave her ample time to do as she pleased. Sariel ended up in the living room, having gone through his extensive library and finding something interesting to read. She may as well occupy her time, she guessed, and it might hep her learn something useful. Listening to him locking up, she could have laughed. Why on earth would a demon worry about someone breaking into his house? They were far away from neighbors and the idea he could be worried about intruders of any sort amused her. Maybe that was something she could exploit? Thinking it over, she glanced up when he came into the room, curled up on one of the couches with her wings draped over the back.

"I'm still here, as you can see," she remarked bluntly, her gaze returning to the book and dismissing him entirely from her vision.

Eligos found Sariel in the living room, curled up with a book. He smirked, knowing that she had probably rolled her eyes upon having him lock up the house. He watched as she completely dismissed him and for a moment, he considered what to do.
"I don't know if you've realized this yet, but there are far worse things than to have been purchased by myself. If you had been found by another demon, I assure you that your fate would not be as pretty as this. As for locking up the house, because I'm sure that you turned up your pretty little nose at it, I'll say again that there are far worse things than me lurking about out there. When the house is locked, no other demon besides myself can enter the house. Not even Levi would be able to barge in in her usual fashion. So if you like where your wings are or just in general like being alive, I wouldn't suggest unlocking that door at night."

Eli was completely serious as he spoke and without giving the angel a chance to reply, he walked out of the room. He didn't care for her snide remarks at the moment and headed to his study to get some work done. He had some reports to fill out and if he didn't get them done soon, surely he would be scolded. Once he was in his office, Eli turned on some classical music and then got to work. The reports were long and tedious, but he had to do them. He didn't emerge from his office until a few hours later and by that time, it was time for bed. As he was getting dressed for bed, which to be honest was getting dressed down for bed, Eli thought about what he had told Sariel. He had warned her of the other demons that tended to lurk about his manor, but he had forgotten to tell her that he was the only one that was able to unlock the house. If she tried to run away in the middle of the night, the house would prevent her from even opening the door.

Eli laughed when he thought of this. He hoped the angel wasn't that stupid, but he was still getting to know her. Maybe she would try to escape. Even if she did, it would be entertaining for him. Maybe he would make her sleep in his room as punishment. Eligos laughed once more as the entertaining thoughts filled his head. It was a nice way to amuse himself before crawling into bed and turning the lights off. Small flames flickered in the fireplace, magicked to lower when he was sleeping and brighten when he was awake as well as to stay in place. There was no way he was going to let his beautiful house burn down while he was asleep. Stretching out, Eligos found a comfortable position to lay in and then promptly fell asleep.

It's only when I hit the ground
                                            It causes all the grief

The only thing that kept her from contemplating an escape attempt once he was gone was that damn hellhound he had. Sariel couldn't use her magic and was positive he had some sort of wards or something else around the house that would possibly keep her from even leaving the threshold. It wasn't uncommon, after all, even for human magicians to use them. But the hellhound was the root of her problem, from her perspective. She knew what they were capable of and believed him when he said that it could track her down. Sariel had seen other angels be brought down by the beasts, they were untiring and relentless. Once it had the scent, the prey was doomed. So she would have to figure out some way to get around 'Molly'. Until then...patience. She had to remember patience.

It was a relief to know he was going to leave her alone for the night. Perhaps he might even leave her alone all night, and into the morning, unlike the horribly rude awakening he'd given her at the bungalows. Frowning at the memory of being grabbed like she was...the angel didn't have a comparison and got to her feet, taking her book to her room to read. It was a better way to spend her time than brooding or trying useless escape attempts that might just result in injury. That would hinder her even further and she wasn't stupid, no matter what he thought of her. Angry, rash in her humiliation - but not stupid. She wouldn't have risen to the rank of an archangel if she was that. Eventually the angel was able to fall into a restless sort of sleep, too aware that she had no privacy and he could walk in and do as he pleased whenever he wanted to.

Sariel woke up before dawn and rubbed her face. Recalling something he said, about grooming the horses, she had little doubt that he would both follow through with that order, and likely give her some humiliating task. None of her masters had forced her to do much menial labor, however, preferring her to simply sit and look pretty, so her lack of functional clothing made her...well, roll her eyes. The angel didn't much care about the clothing being dirtied or ruined, but she was positive that she would hear enough snarky remarks from the damn demon without it being directed at whatever she found to wear. So she tried to dig out the most functional things she could, still feeling stupid. Because she cared if he made fun of her? No - because she was tired of having to figure out what she could wear from options people gave to her, mostly humiliating things that weren't even functional and showed off her figure like she was some sort of doll for them.

At least she was comfortable. Much better than the tight, confining dresses she had to force herself into every day to show off. There might be an upside, Sariel thought, trying to see some sort of positive. Unless he forced her into putting on high heels and something idiotic, just so could have the pleasure of watching her struggle. She wouldn't put anything past the demon who now owned her. Even thinking the word left a sour taste in her mouth. She braided her hair down her back and headed into the kitchen for something to eat, mostly to try to settle her anxious stomach rather than out of actual hunger. There was fresh fruit and she picked at that, her wings defensively tight against her back as she waited for the demon to appear at some point.
