2 of my favorite youtube beauty guru or vlogger (Frmheadtotoe and Bubzbeauty), posted videos on choosing the right bra size.
Watching the videos made me realize I'm wearning the wrong bra !!
However, I still haven't found the right bra for me.

Here are the my problems.

1. Sale assistants mesure your chest, and look at a size chart to find your size.
However, depending of the bra design (the cut, the padding) it won't always fit. So, I just have to try them on a size up or down. I find sale assistant doesn't help much.

2. Straps keeps falling ? I make them tighter, but there is no good length because they always fall or it just digs into my skin and it hurts. The more I tighten the bra band rides up which should not be, it should be parallel to your bra cups. The real problem is probably my rounded shoulders and posture that makes the straps fall.

3. BRA BAND, should be parallel to the ground or bonnets, and should not stretch more than 2 fingers when you push the band with your fingers between your back and the band. If too loose, you need to tighten them. So I tighten my bra band until I get the 2 fingers rule distance. However, in the end of the day, IT FREAKING HURTS. IT WAS TOO TIGHT.

4. Asymmetric boobs, one is slightly smaller than the other one... So, one bonnet is looser. O_O If I buy a bra that fit the smaller boob , I would feel
pain to the other one.

Alrighty so

1) the best way to test a bra is to just get one yourself, trust me (I got trained for bra fitting at Victorias Secret and let me tell you a majority of those people have no idea what they are doing). The best way to do this is to find the one that seems the most comfortable (size D and up aim for a full coverage, no padding, wired bra. trust me on this) get it in a few cup sizes and then work from there. You should be able to hook it up on the second hook and have the front resting on your sternum area as well as sitting two fingers away from your spine. The entire thing should also lie evenly on your body and not curve up or wiggle in places. After this give your body a good jump and shake down to make sure you are supported and if you feel ANY slipping in the bra (aside from the general and very obvious "I am salsa dancing with exclusively my upper body fat so anything that fits up here will move), it is the wrong fit/size. If you can afford it, I highly highly HIGHLY recommend going in or a proper fitting at a lingerie shop (I recently sunk a good 200$ CAD into a bra and fitting a few months ago but in all honesty it gives me more support than my sports bra so I don't miss that money too much).

2) I suggest investing in a bit of body tape! I swear the stuff saves lives. Another super useful thing (that would work really well for support too) is to purchase a few racerback hooks to hold your straps in the middle of your back (just make sure to soften down the sides of your straps with some fabric softener wipes or to buy some foam body guards to go under the straps so that they don't dig into your skin.

3) Im super sorry to hear you have these problems! My suggestion is to make sure you are buying a bra that fits you right off the bat and that you are treating yourself to a nice new bra every few months (your body deserves it!) and you shouldn't have to worry too much about the pain (if you are feeling pain and are above a C cup I suggest avoiding bras with heaving padding for everyday use). Also keep in mind that a bra should be close fitting and tight A LITTLE BIT (don't buy things that constrict your blood flow/breathing please!!!) you will get used to it after a few wears and that tightness takes stress off of the shoulder bands.

4) I know you probably have read this everywhere but always buy for the larger breast. You are able to purchase fillers for the other cup or get it tailored (if you haven't had to worry about breast feeding yet theres still a chance that the other breast can fill out some so not all hope is lost!)

A final piece of advice I have is to wear what you believe is right and comfortable, not what some woman in change room tells you is. This is very important in avoiding any lasting damage to your breast tissue and health problems that hold you back from being the best you that you can be.

Remember, a bra is there to support you not weigh you down!
Happy shopping!!

I always have the problem where my bra straps are too tight, even when they're extended as much as possible. Thanks, broad shoulders.

Bras are the worst.

i wouldn't rely on bra size too much- mine is 32b, which is pretty parallel across the board, but there's also abberations (i've been a 34c once, which... no).

aka, bras got the vanity sizing treatment. i'd say find a bra size that accommodates well and go up and down from there.

as well, sales assistants also depend on the store. nordstroms measures without clothes, i'm told, but i wouldn't trust victoria's secret at all- they measure clothes and all, which is how i got added a cup size once.

as well, go for what's comfortable and fits well- this can vary, but the general rule is the two fingers, but the better one is if the band is parallel and the tack (the thing in between the cups) sits on your chest.

as well, it's actually uncommon for breasts to be the same size- most womens' left breast is slightly larger, so i wouldn't worry (mine is, i'm doing fine).

you could also try bralettes, if you'd get enough support from them? i have four, and vastly prefer them over my traditional bras.

I hate bras! It's to difficult for me to find even one that has a nice design and isn't plain. I want to feel sexy sometimes xD.
I'm a 34DD. It's impossible to fine that size because:
1.) 34 size ranges from A-C I do fine some single Ds tho.
2.)All D-DDD cups are freaking huge numbers! Like 40s big.
3.)Finding my size bra for some reason are always expensive. Bras like A-C fall into the $12 tag. My bras are $30-$50

Now imagine a 34-36DDD. Super hard to find before I lost weight.
It's gotten easier now but if I find one with my right size I buy right away regardless of comfort for small stuff, why? because it's better than having nothing!

So it's pointless for me to find the right perfect bra. If anything I would have to have it customized and thats expensive.

I think there's other brands that might sell your size like Wonderbra ... Or even Online website. Some size are available online only in Aerie and Victoria secret I think.

Yeah :/ I was just trying to make a point of comfort vs. Design vs. Money
Jcp has a buy one get one half off and there's bras are $30. I can count on finding Vanity Fair bras but they are plain... Oh well.
I've bought 1 from Victoria secret $50 just plain solid color full coverage it was really good and fit for me but expensive.
