That was it. The last ******** straw. He had had enough with this insane family of his. It was time. He was going to move out on his own. Jake doubted anyone would miss him. The family was getting so big. Multiplying like, well, rabbits. They wouldn't miss one adult man who everyone hated anyways. It wasn't like he was special to them. And he knew just the person to help him figure out everything he needed for a new place. Jake did feel bad that it seemed like the only time he went to see her was when he needed to get away from his family; but he did realize he enjoyed her company. So it couldn't be that bad right? And this was business. If he moved into the city, they could meet up more than when he came to escape. So a win-win all around he thought. Dodging running little fluffballs, Jake grabbed the house phone and dialed Josie's work number to see if she was available.

Josie had been out and about all day running errands. Visiting spaces in which she is to decorate and even doing some grocery shopping. Time had been flying by as she hurried from one place to another. Her car getting filled with every stop. Work has been steady with new job offers and completing projects. Sometimes with the help of her friend Jake. Parking her car in the driveway she moves to carry some things in setting them down on the table. As she is coming back into the house with her grocery load she hears the telephone ring."s**t! I need to get that.. uh." She quickly put the groceries down on the counter before bolting to where one of the telephones is in it's holder. Accepting the call at the last ring. "Hello, Josie Adams speaking." Flopping down on the couch she takes a breath.

He had almost given up hope that she was available. In most cases that he had experienced, if businesses didn't pick up the phone by a couple rings, they were either too busy or not even there. "Oh. Hey. It's Jake. You have time free or an open appointment schedule? I need your services." He frowned and tried to duck further into the room with the phone as a group of unruly kids ran through the hall screaming in laughter, followed by their nanny running after them and yelling for them to stop. "The sooner the better please."

Josie lifts an eyebrow but smiles all the same at the voice that comes from the other end."Jake! Of course I have time for you. Just finished running errands. Sorry I didn't get to the phone earlier. You called just as I was walking in with groceries." She pauses as his words sink in." Services? You want my help with decorating? Or what are we talking about? Of course I will help and all. You know that. I think this is the first time you've called and not just come over. Something wrong?"

“Don’t worry about it. Worst that would have happened was I would have left a message. That is what the answering machines are for after all. Unless you don’t have one, in which case that would be my loss in not being able to catch you.” He had to roll his eyes at her questions. “Yes decorating services. What did you think I was talking about?” Why else would he be calling her if it wasn’t because she was pretty much his only friend? “I called because I didn’t want to interrupt if you had business going on since I want you to help me find a place to live. I can’t stay here anymore. My family is driving me crazy. So I thought since you knew the city you could help me find a place and then help me with ideas on how to make it, well, me.”

Josie shrugs." True it would have caught the message. Still don't like missing calls when I am near the phone though." She listens to him and grins."Well I am available to help you with finding and decorating a place for you. Who else knows you better? Your family doesn't. Come on over when you are ready to start looking at places. But first.. price range and what factors on a place do you think is most important to you? I'll need to know that so I can start looking for a few to look at."

Josie was still odd to him. Then again, Jake would let even numbers he recognized go to voice mail. His grip on the phone tightened. Yes the female knew him best. He just didn't always needed it pointed out. He hated it enough as it was. "I honestly could come over now, but no doubt this will take time so I'll wait until you have something lined up." He flinched as another wave of brats ran past screaming. Or maybe the first wave finally made a circle in the house. "A one bedroom is preferred. Two at most if a one isn't available. Smaller the better. Hard to get to." Maybe if it was hard to get to where he was then he wouldn't have his family over all the time. Otherwise he really didn't care. "No more than say....thirty thousand if house, two thousand if apartment."

Josie jots the information down and nods."Well I do know some one bedroom places already. Sorta had another friend go through moving recently too. I could easily call the manager and see if we can get a showing of the places if they are still available. They would be in your price range and are in good shape." She hears the kids and shakes her head. The amount of siblings he has is insane. " So if you want to come over and get away from the ruckus over there then come over."

"Well you certainly don't waste any time." And that was one reason why he called her instead of looking for some random person to find him a place. With helping her for an occasional client, he figured she'd have lots of contacts. Her saying he could come over was another reason too, one that easily annoyed him too. How could an acquaintance know Jake better than his own family? "I'll be there in a bit." He paused a moment. "Do I need to bring anything? Need me to pick anything up for you?" As grating as being nice was, if she was taking her time to help him, the male supposed he could do something decent by his standards for Josie.

Josie laughs and nods." No I don't. You know how busy I am at times. Not a dull moment!" She starts to open her usual real estate sites." Yeah. You can actually get me something. Can you grab a case of hard cider? I ran out and didn't have time to go to the liquor store." She starts to type an email to one of the managers to say that she has a client interested in seeing a place. " I'll see you when you get here. I got to send some emails and makes some calls. See you soon." With that she hangs up and gets to work. Setting up some open houses for Jake.

As soon as the line hung up, Jake ran for it. If he stopped, he’d get corralled and asked where he was going. And with his hot head, he’d probably spill his plan before it came to fruitation. He did not need anymore drama right now. He’d tell his parents what was going on once he was all packed, lease signed. After all, how hard could it be to live on his own? If his younger brother could do it when he wasn’t even legally able to live on his own, Jake certainly could. He wanted out so badly, he forgot his helmet as he sped all the way into town. The bike was only still long enough for the male to grab the cider like Josie requested before he pulled to a screeching halt in front of her building.

Josie types away at her computer as she has her head to the side holding the phone. Man, some people can sure be chatty but she goes about and manages in the time it takes for Jake to get here to get three open houses set up. With a possible fourth if the person could get a hold of the owners to let them in. She hears screeching of tires and chuckles. Seems Jake is here. She finishes the call and puts the receiver down. After jotting down another address she puts the pen down and stands up. Making her way towards the door to greet her friend. " Hey, you made it in record time."
