 Mikhail ran his tongue along his lip piercings absentmindedly as he walked home. He had just had to break the news to a fling he had. They were getting too clingy. He had thought that they had understood when they started this thing that it wouldn't be serious. That the purple Chornia didn't do commitment. Guess it had gone in one ear and out the other because his ex-love affair seemed surprise when he explained why he had to break it off. There was a reason he never brought these dalliances home. They might have his days, but Mikhail's nights and home belonged to someone else. The closest thing he did to commitment. And it worked. He loved Blaise, and he never doubted that the other loved him. He just liked options. Right now though, after what he had just done, he wanted nothing more to do that cuddle up with Blaise and have him make it all go away.

 Blaise had decided a few weeks ago that he would take a break from any flings and one night stands for a little bit. With his and Mikhail's kids grown and out of the house. He had been a little lonely. Which lead him to go meet others. Yet he isn't satisfied with the guys he had been seeing during the day. Let's face it. They just didn't understand that his heart belonged to someone else. Nor the fact that an open relationship could really exist and work. Not that it bothered him much. The others were just to satisfy some urges when he felt them. Nothing more than that. So here he is sitting at home on the couch. A book in his paws as a movie plays in the background for noise. The book isn't exactly his favorite but it is decent enough. As time passes he wonders when Mikhail would be home. He knows that the other has been seeing someone else with the messages that have been coming in at times on the others phone. Yet he isn't worried. He knows that Mikhail loves him and that nobody will take his spot. So the messages never really phased him. Stretching he moves to rearrange his blankets which he made into a nest on the couch to lounge and surround himself with.

"Please let him be there. Please let him be there." Mikhail hurried the last few blocks to their place. Granted lately Blaise didn't smell like another being, but things could change. Or he was really good about getting rid of the scent. There was a reason after all for not bringing these side pieces home. Their sanctuary, where only phone calls reminded them of what happened outside those doors. Either way, that was Blaise's business and Mikhail wasn't going to pry. Unlocking the front door, he paused, then grinned as he heard the television on. Mikhail loosened his scarf a little as he made his way towards the sound. "Blaise honey I'm home." He had to chuckle once he reached the couch and saw how his love was bundled up. So cute. Leaning over the couch, he put his hand on the page to block Blaise's view and adopted a whiney tone to his voice. "Blaaaaise...How much do you love me?"

It wasn't long til he was interrupted by the opening of the door. Wondering whether it was Mikhail or if it was one of the kids coming to visit. He stays where he is. A soft smile on his lips as he finishes the last paragraph before flipping the page. When he hears Mikhail's voice drift into the room from the hallway he lets out a soft sigh of relief. Happy that the other is home. A hand covers his book and he looks up at Mikhail as the other asks him a question. Looking at the other curiously at the tone he used he gives him a peck on the lips." More than the number of grains of sand that is on this planet." He tilts his head looking up at him. Purple eyes imploring him on what caused the whine to be in his voice. "Is something wrong? You don't normally use that tone unless something happened or you are mocking the kids when they don't get their way." Closing the book he puts it on the side table before patting the spot beside him."Come over here. I'm not gonna tilt my head back just to look at you as you tell me what's going on."

Kissing back, Mikhail rubbed his forehead against Blaise’s. “That’s a pretty big boast. Good thing I know that you can back it up.” Doing as he was bid, he walked around the couch and flopped onto it, scooching over and repositioning himself so he could rest his head on the green male’s lap. “My latest…friend. Or ex-friend. She couldn’t understand our way of life. Or, she didn’t try to. I told her upfront that it wouldn’t be and she ignored it. Wanted me to stay. To marry her. And then when I said I couldn’t she told me I had to make a choice. Her or you.” He cuddled closer, moving up to give Blaise another kiss, being careful not to poke or prod with his horns and piercings. “So I told her to sod off and came home. I just don’t understand it. Society has gotten to the point where it’s starting to be acceptable for different races, different species to be in a relationship. Same sex relationships are another accepted thing. Why is our choice the only one that seems to get any grief? It’s not fair.” He pouted cutely.

Blaise nods." I know it is. But you said it yourself. I can back that up. How about you? How much do you love me? Just cause you asked first." He runs his fingers over his hair as the other lays his head on his lap. He listens silently and nods."Well, she was an idiot thinking you would chose her. She should have listened before." He cuddles with the other. His tail wrapped over the others belly. Pleased by the kiss he makes a soft sound of approval. A sad smile comes across his lips." It isn't fair but I am noticing the same things you do. Less people seem to be okay with open relationships. They are drawn to the idea yet when it comes down to it they always want more.. Or everyone thinks open relationships are unicorns and would never work. It's sorta sad..and unfair. Why I have taken a little break from flings." He chuckles as his lover pouts at him. " Have I ever told you that when you pout it's cute? Or have I forgotten to ever tell you that?"

Mikhail grinned. “Shall I tell you all the ways I love you? There is no quantitative amount, no imaginable size, of my love for you. It’s endless. It just goes on and on and on.” It was why Blaise was the one for him. No one else had ever captured him to stay permanently. Or as permanently as the both of them did. There had been many others, but not once did Mikhail ever think of trading Blaise with one of them forever and always. He cuddled into the other, stroking his love’s tail, purring lightly at the attention and cuddling. “Maybe I should take a page out of your book.” He poked playfully at the book the other had been reading, as if going to tear a page out. “Maybe a break would be good since it seems to be getting harder and harder to find someone okay with it. You’d think with all the new erotic books out there people would be more open about everything. Hypocrites…” Mikhail looked mischieviously at Blaise. “You might have told me before. You might not have. We both know my memory can be a bit fuzzy at times. Tell me again?”

Blaise smiles and listens. Pleased and well aware of the other's love for him. Purring with pleasure he nuzzles the other tenderly." I am glad to hear that. So very pleased." He smiles and when the other acts as if he is gonna tear a page out of the book he tsks and puts the book on the table beside the couch." Oh no you don't. That's a library book. Don't wanna damage that." He nods slightly thinking for a moment." One would think. Especially with that whole shades of grey series.. But unfortunately not. Not at this time at least." Seeing the look on his love's face he chuckles and kisses him gently before nuzzling him."Mmm yes that fuzzy memory. Such a fickle thing. You are absolutely adorable when you pout.. Your eyes are stunning when you are angry or passionate about something... Shall I go on?"

Mikhail wasn't one for flowery words but occassionally he could come up with something good. Made him happy when it worked and made Blaise happy. He made a gagging noise at the mention of the book series. "That abomination. People shouldn't use it as a basis forr what to expect in this kind of life, even for something as vanilla as our relationship seems to be compared to that sorry excuse for a novel." His tail twitched happily as he nipped at Blaise's earring to tug it lightly. "Not right now, but perhaps you can continue on our date."

Blaise chuckles as the others reaction is just as he expected." True. They certainly shouldn't compare it. Considering ours is more normal and not abusive in any way shape or form." He playfully gasps at the earring pulling. " You know how that gets me love. It wouldn't be appropriate for our date if you continued like that. But maybe after." He winks and nods." Well who knows. I could sprinkle a few cute sentiments in our date. Shall we go on our date?"

He smirked. "Maybe I just want you primed for after the date." The male adopted a look of exaggerated horror. "Or maybe we'll be so bold and crass as to suck each other's faces off in public." With another pull at the earring, Mikhail got off of his love and the couch. "I will be highly disappointed if our romantic date didn't include some more romantic and cute sentiments. Just give me a few minutes to nab a quick bath. I'd rather not go on our date smelling like her. Would you like to join me? Or would that too be deemed inappropriate for our date?"

Blaise pretends to be shocked." Mikhail! I'm shocked! Already thinking of taking me to bed after the date!" He laughs." Oh goodness. Oh the horror. Actual displays in public!" He looks up at him and smiles. " Well I definitely wouldn't want to disappoint you." He smiles and nods." Yes go take a bath.." He thinks about the question and hums." Well it might be deemed as such.. but then again.. We have been together for so long that I don't think it matters." He goes to walk over to him." So to the bath we go love."

Mikhail laughed at Blaise's acting. "That's my secret. I'm always thinking of taking you to bed. If they think they'll be scandalized by public displays of affection, then I'd probably be locked up for indecency if they could actually read my mind." Kissing his love, Mikhail grabbed him, pulling him gently towards the bathroom. "You've always got your nose stuck in books so I hope they gave you ideas. Because I fully intend for you to make it up to me if you don't shower me in sentiments."

Blaise laughs and can't help but fall into a fit of giggles. " Oh goodness. I can see it now." He grins and nods." I suppose we would be cell buddies with our thoughts.Though you have them a bit more than I do." He follows and laughs happily." They do give me some good ideas. Though don't worry love. I think I got the sentiments covered baby." He winks.
