Personality: Jonas is, in a sense, a particularly religious sort. He was raised to follow the good book, and do unto others. As a result, he works hard and tries his best to be a good individual. However, this is also tempered by a brash streak he has, which sometimes causes him to do things that his parents don't approve of, such as grow out his hair (much to his parent's chagrin) and involve himself in things that aren't necessarily what they consider good behaviour. He also has a protective streak, that usually comes out when someone happens to be in trouble or is in danger of being hurt. He doesn't particularly care if the person in question is a good Christian or not, as he does think that people can be good without having to follow lock-step in the religion he was raised in.

Background Information: Born to Daniel and Elizabeth Spencer, a reverend and his wife, Jonas is the eldest child in his family. He was raised alongside his family in a very strict religious household, where they were told to say their prayers, read the Bible, and be good Christians. His father insisted that Jonas follow in his footsteps and become a preacher like himself, but Jonas, while raised to be a perfect Christian, is unsure if he wants to follow that path. His younger sisters and brother were also raised in such a fashion, and the four of them were often found in church functions as well as participating in the choir and other activities.
It wasn't until they went down to South Africa for missionary work when he was twelve that he discovered there was more to the world than just Bible study and devout worship. While he still happened to view the work they did there as good, he met other people there that weren't as strict as his parents were, and started to loosen up about what he was taught. He enjoyed his time down there, and when he left Africa, he found that the life his parents led weren't how he wanted to live his life. He decided to start hanging around a more 'secular' group of friends, and that resulted in perhaps the first time in his life that his parents were disappointed in him. While he's still unsure about what he wants to do with his life, he still knows that he at least wants to graduate school and possibly attend university and find out what he could do with his life.
