Darren strolled down the street grinning and waving at everyone he passed. He felt great today. Alive for the first time in years. He was finally free of that dreadful old town he grew up in. The only good thing was being with his family. Sure, he missed them, but this was his first time being out on his own and he is loving it. All this wandering had made him hungry so he starts looking around for a place to have a bite. A nice little coffee shop ahead catches his eye and he bounces his way up the street and through the door. Darren smiles at the girl behind the counter and orders himself a French vanilla cappuccino and a turkey and Swiss on rye. He hands her his money and turns around to look for a table. They were all occupied. Suddenly he realised everyone was looking towards the same table with disgusted looks on their faces, whispering to each other. Wondering what could possibly draw the attention of so many, he turns to look. What he sees shocks him. He stands there, staring. Before he knows what he is doing, Darren finds himself heading straight towards that table.

Grinning, Darren approached the the stranger. "Hi, uhh . . . Is . . . Is ok if I sat with you?" He didn't expect to get so flustered. The others striking green eyes were mesmerizing. He couldn't feel himself think. Sheepishly, Darren looked away feeling a blush creep up his neck. "The uh . . . Other tables are occupied and you're all alone . . . Well kinda anyways." Darren glanced at the others tail and grinned. He had heard about this breed but had never laid eyes on one. Until now. Shifting from foot to foot, Darren anxiously awaited his qnswer.

Darren bounced happily before plopping himself down in the vacant seat. He stuck his tongue out at the tailmouth and hid his sandwich before smiling at the boy. "Darren. My name is Darren." He took a bite of his sandwich and quickly washed it down with a swing of his cappuccino. "And what might you're name be?"

Darren grinned. "It's nice to meet you Kheelan!" Shifting his gaze to the tailmouth he said, "And you too . . . It!" Darren giggled and took another bite of his sandwich. "So why are you out here by yourself, Kheelan?" Taking a sip of his drink, he suddenly realized something. Darren set his cup on the table and stared at his plate. "I'm . . . I'm not bothering you, am I?" Glancing up at the other boy, his eyes started to water and his bottom lip began to tremble. "Oh no. I'm so sorry! What if you were waiting for someone? What if you just wanted to be alone? I just threw myself at you. I'M SO SORRY, KHEELAN! I didn't mean to bother you!" Darren folded in on himself and grabbed his things. Standing, he looked back at Kheelan. "I'm sorry. I'll be going now" With his ears laid back and his tail tucked, Darren walked to the back of the shop looking for another vacant table.

Darren glanced back at the sound of Kheelan's voice. Ears perking up, he slowly made his way back to the other boys table. "Are-Are you sure? I-I don't want to be a bother." Darren's eyes began watering again as he looked down at his feet.

Darren sat down next to Kheelan and sniffled as he sat his things back down on the table. Wiping his eyes he glanced over at It and grinned. "He is pretty cool looking." Darren took a bite out of his sandwich and smiled at Kheelan. 'Thank you for letting me stay!"

Darren snorted and started choking on his sandwich. "You though It was a monster!? Really? That thing is too cute to be a monster!" Grinning, he grabbed a napkin and cleaned up the mess he made. "But ok. I promise I wont jump to conclusions without talking to you first." Darren nodded and grinned at the two of them.
