Them
They have created this place, where They experiment on Us. They took Us from our lives at different times, from different places, but we all end up here. Where here is, we have no idea. We haven't seen outside since we were taken.
They are divided into two groups. Scientists and Military Men, or Docs and Thugs, your choice. The Thugs wear black, and have clubs and guns, the Docs wear white and have needles and pills. Both will hurt Us when They can. Some of Us are used by Them to keep the rest of Us in line. But even those aren't treated like Them. Those wear blue.
No one knows how long this has been going on. The longest one of Us can remember being here is 15 years, she thinks. It's time we got out.
Setting
The story takes place in a hidden lab, that is not run or affiliated with or even known by any government. It is funded by private citizens, has it's own military force, and is run by scientists who are only concerned with figuring out what they can do with genetic experiments. We are all people who have been experimented on by these scientists. We were all taken from our normal lives at some point, you choose, and have all been here for however long. Sometimes when the scientists create someone who would be an asset to their military force they hand them over for training, only so long as said person can be trusted to not try and escape. Even so they are treated differently than the normal mercenaries, and don't get guns. But most "subjects" are used over and over again for experiments, until they are no longer viable. Then they are disposed of.

CharactersPM me your character Gaian Name: Name: Age: How long you have been here: Gender: Appearance: Bio: Change: (What did the scientists do to you)
Gaian Name: Si_Valael Name:Gamma Blue Age: 21 How long you have been here: 12 years Gender: Male Appearance: Gamma Blue is a young man of average height, compact build and a low centre of gravity. Long years of genetic testing have left him with visibly powerful legs, elongated ears and canines reminiscent of a dog of wolf. The rest of his features would not make him stand out from a crowd, save for his eyes of a deep steely blue which tend to hold an abnormal attraction to those who lock with their gaze. Bio: Gamma blue was born Norman LeForge. The son of wealthy globe trotters, Norman spent much of his formative years traveling to different exotic locations around the world. His parents were quick to get Norman to join them on their adventures and soon had him trekking through the wilderness and exploring the hidden places of the world. On one such trip to a small island in the South Pacific the LeForges stumbled upon a hidden facility used by Them. Norman’s father was gunned down before the family even knew someone was there. His mother was wounded as they fled back towards the shore and drowned as they tried to swim back to their boat. The last thing Norman saw was his family’s yacht being scuttled by an RPG. When the boy woke up his memories of his family seemed distant and fuzzy, like a dream. The men in black and the people in the white coats referred to him as Gamma 442. They began subjecting him to seemingly unending genetic trials, splicing the DNA of various pack animals into Gamma’s genetic makeup. Their goal was to see how far they could push the limits of his physical endurance. What they didn’t intend was for him to develop Empathic abilities. He would wake with a start when other test subjects in his cell block would have a nightmare and would stay up the rest of the night to sooth them. He could sense the surge in hostility when a guard was about to lash out against another child and step in to pull them out of harm’s way. It wasn’t long before those in the white coats picked up on this development, and Gamma was whisked away to a second facility for further testing. He was poked and prodded, tested over and over. As the years went on and the genetic modifications manifested the unexpected steely blue eye colour, the people in black began to refer to him as Blue instead of the long test name he had been assigned. The military men started to take a liking to Gamma Blue, and their commanders couldn’t help but notice the potential combat advantages in the boy’s genetic mods. Change: Near super human endurance, enhanced strength and speed and senses. Highly developed tracking abilities, Empathic and Reverse Empathic, the latter is still largely dormant.Gaian Name: IamSTRANGE Name: Theta 13 Age: 22 How long you have been here: A few months I think Gender: Female Appearance: Before I was taken I had long brown hair, with the side of my head shaved in the current fashion, I wore glasses over my bright blue eyes, and often sported jeans and a nerdy t-shirt. However now that I am in the custody of Them my whole head has been shaved, and I have not been allowed to wear anything but the medical robes. Since I woke up here I have a massive set of wings, the same colour as my hair, and slightly longer canines. I feel like other things have changed, but I can't see or feel them. Bio: I was born with the name Naomi Holmes into a loving, if dysfunctional family. My parents split when I was very young, I don't remember us ever living in the same house. I grew up with my mum and 3 older sisters, visiting my dad almost every other weekend. He lived with his new wife, and their son. My life was pretty normal, I wasn't super popular, nor was I an outcast. I had my group of nerdy friends, and that suited me fine. Until we graduated. Then we all went separate ways and eventually lost contact. I tried to make new friends, but didn't know how, so the past few years have been lonely. They took me from my apartment while sleeping, I don't know why, or how. I hope my cat is okay. I have been here for what I think is a few months, I have no accurate way of keeping time. The docs call me Theta 13, but the Thugs just call me 13, they seem to avoid me. I guess they're superstitious. I've tried to escape a few times, thinking that if I could just get outside I could use these wings they gave me. Now they keep me shackled most of the time, and my wings tied down. Change: Wings, heightened senses, split personality, extreme suggestive capabilities Gaian Name: Fellfromgrace63 Name: Beta 55 Age: 22 How long you have been here: 5 Years Gender: Male Appearance: Beta 55 stands at 6’0 with an athletic build. He has short brown hair and is always wearing sunglasses, hiding his eyes. He, on first look, looks like any athlete, lean and strong muscle shown due to lack of body fat. Upon closer inspection, his skin has a rougher look and feel to it as well as his veins not showing the usual blue but green colour. These were simple to cover up as Beta preferred long sleeved shirts over any other. What truly stands him apart is his eyes, almost always concealed behind sunglasses. His eyes were, simply put, no longer human. They were all black with small flecks of gold, appearing to move outwards from the center of the eye like the explosion of a firework. He also usually sports a beard upon his face to conceal further his rougher skin. The sunglasses, long sleeve shirt, and beard serving to help him blend in. Bio: Beta 55, formerly Daniel Roper, was abducted from the change room of his hockey team at the age of 17. He was not sure what had happened. He remembers his teammate leaving but after that it was all blank until he woke up with Them. He had been an all around athlete, playing hockey, soccer, basketball, as well as enjoying many other sports at his leisure. Apparently his athleticism had been the reason for his abduction, or so the scientists had mentioned in hushed talks among themselves. Beta was sure he wasn’t supposed to know that but since arriving he was able to hear far greater than before. He was not sure how long he had been here before he regained consciousness, but knew it had to have been a while due to the scars he could see on his scalp freshly revealed. After a day or two of recovery, it seemed like every day was a test. He at first was simply playing the sports he had played before, except now he was better. Not just better but perfect; he never missed, not once. As the weeks ground on he was subjected to test to see how quickly he responded to objects propelled at him. At first it started with dodgeballs but escalated quickly to projectiles moving near the speed of a bullet. These initially he could not avoid and wouldn’t be able to do another test that day. Soon however he was able to react and avoid them completely, even when the scientists started to send them on curving or angled vectors. At this point, betas competitiveness broke loose and he saw the tests as a game which he would win. He began to try to catch the objects and hurl them back, it took three days and a broken finger but succeeded and broke one of the scientists machines. The rest of his fingers on his left hand were broken as punishment. He had never been back to that room since. The next batch of experiments, which were excruciating, brought forth his rough skin. The tests done on him after this experiment were not at all enjoyable as it included getting prodded by progressively sharper implements. It was also discovered at this time that his new skin did not heal quickly. It took a month for a cut made by a diamond saw to start healing. This prompted a full year test to discover how to make people heal quicker. After many failures, the scientists finally nailed down a solution, but unfortunately for them it only worked on Beta. This affected the colour of his veins and blood which could now be seen as green. This new healing ability, though, made it so any cuts and scrapes he accrued would be healed completely the following morning and a mortal wound would be all but healed after three days. This was tested one day, by a few of the blacks using him as target practice. They were not allowed to shoot him in the head, but anywhere else was fair game. That was probably the most painful day of Betas life. He wished to be on the giving end of bullets rather than the receiving end. After he healed up from this ordeal, Beta was then tested on his accuracy. As he had discovered in his very early tests playing sports, he never missed except for his first shot which was slightly off center; he had never fired a gun before that day. With his stellar accuracy he was asked if he wanted to become a Blue, which he agreed to instantly, not wanting any more tests run on him. He served as a Blue for almost a year, enjoying it himself but finding growing resentment from his Black peers. His expertise with a weapon as well as beating every Black at dice(a past-time enjoyed by the Blacks allowing them to gamble). Betas discovery that he could throw the dice exactly the right way to make his numbers come up every time caused many Blacks to avoid him or gang up and beat him up, if they could catch him which was rare. He was sent back to the lab after an incident where he beat a Black almost to death defending himself after a game of dice. The remaining time between then and now was spent with Beta honing his skills through test after test. He was able to hit a moving target fifty yards away by ricocheting any object over five times. He had overheard the scientists talking about this ability as something called Hyperkinesis, which allows his brain to process movement at a much faster rate than others. This explained how he was able to catch objects moving near the speed of a bullet as well as his inability to miss his target. Within the last year, Beta was put back under the knife. This time however the scientists were focused on his eyes. He was out for a span of time unknown to him. Upon to waking up, he knew something was wrong. He wasn’t seeing normally. It was like he was seeing in just colours. The room he was in had a dark blue colour to it except for one corner of the room that was a bright yellow and oink. He knew that was where a heater was and from that determined he was seeing in infrared! It took him a week to be able to switch his vision back to normal. He could also remove all colour as well as zoom into things. Looking at his hand one day, he discovered he could actually see individual skin cells. He wondered how far he could see, and longed to see the outdoors. Change: Rough skin, green blood, black and gold eyes(allowing vision within different spectrums as well as better focusing), Hyperkinesis, improved hearing. Gaian Name: Demonw0lf Name: Omega5 Age: 19 How long you have been here: Was in for about 10 years but then escaped and has been out for a year now. Gender: Female Appearance: Silver hair that fades into black as it gets closer to her roots, occasional a feather peeks though. Short, slight and very pale. Has freckles all over her body and also has one golden eye and one hazel eye. Most noticeable is a white tipped black fluffy tail, reminiscent of a fox. Bio: She was born Aryn Sorrow. She was born to a normal family, had lived a fairly normal life and had hugely enjoyed it up until she turned 8. She was camping with her family when they took her and had wandered off to find where the animals were hiding. Unfortunately they found her and she had to grow up very fast after that. She remembers it all, the experiments, the trials, the constant prodding and testing, and the loneliness. She survived it all, passing their expectation of surviving only a few years and managed to survive a strange genetic combination thrust into her system. While they were deciding how to proceed after they realised she was staying alive, she managed to escape the facility and managed to survive mostly on her own for the past year. Shes since been trying to figure out ways to sneak back in and get more survivors out. Change: What did the scientists do to you) Low light vision, healing factors sometimes slow, sometimes fast and all dependent on which side of her is active, fast reflexes, and an incredible sense of smell. Sometimes her animal instincts take over and she cant quite control her actions.

I am on the table again. I don't remember how I got here this time, They seem to be drugging me more often these days. Probably because the Thugs are getting increasingly uncomfortable around me. I don't know why, They have me restrained at all times. The door to the cold lab room opens and a Doc walks in. I can tell by the squeaky shoes on the floor. Thugs wear loud, hard boots. White sneakers come into view as the Doc approaches me and I struggle slightly against my restraints, to no avail. A series of small pinches across my back signal that testing has begun, and I idly wonder what it is today. These tests used to scare me, but now I've just gotten used to it. There is no point in freaking out and trying to fight against the restraints. They know exactly how strong I am, and thus I can't break free, and struggling 'cause causes me more pain. So I lay on my stomach, watching the Doc's feet as they move around me, poking, and proding my body. Injecting things, extracting others.
It's all over in no time and the Doc leaves, squeaky shoes, slamming door. I am alone for a few moments, and I strain against my restraints in boredom. Something gives. Did I just break something? I wiggle around a bit, and sure enough my right arm has slightly more range of motion than before. If I can get my wings free, I can use them to create leverage to break the rest of my body free. Taking a deep breath I try to open my wings, pushing against the restraints They have put in place. The resistance doesn't feel as strong as in the past. Have I gotten stronger, or have they loosened the restraints?
I feel as though I am on the verge of breaking my wings free when I hear the familiar thump of Thug boots. I relax immediately, not wanting them to notice me trying to escape, and thus tie me up tighter. The door opens and one set of boots moves towards me hesitantly.
"Time to go back to your cell." The gruff voice says as he starts to untie me from the table. "No funny business or I'll knock you out." He threatens, one hand patting his billy club where he knows I can see it. This is a script. They say this every time. I wriggle a bit, just to keep him on his toes. He takes a half step back and his hand goes to the handle of the club. I laugh a bit to myself. With my wings tied up I'm pretty much harmless, and still this mercenary is afraid of me. Stupid superstitions.
They must have knocked me out 'cause I don't remember how I got back to my cell, but I am laying on my bed, staring at my ceiling. Every time.

Blue's knees buckled as the fatigue began to burn through his legs. Sweat poured down his body, stinging his eyes and making his cloths heavy. Panting, he placed his hands on his knees and glanced over at the shaded glass panel in the wall to his left. He could feel Their eyes on them, and a swirl of anticipation and excitement wafted back along Their eye line. He knew he had to keep going even before he heard the metallic voice echo out of the speaker above the glass. "Continue please." The words of a request painted over an absolute command. Taking a deep breath, Gamma Blue turned back to face robotic construct that stood before him and grimaced at the many armed abomination. He had come to see it as the embodiment of his misery. Constructed by the men in white to test his endurance, it would randomize a set of attacks and keep going until he gave out, and sometimes not even then. "Continue. Please." The words were more strained, the emotion more volatile. With one last deep breath, Gamma straighten and wiped his forehead free of the streams of sweat before assuming his stance. All of a sudden it was upon him, a flurry of hard padded limbs punching, swiping, and hooking at any part of his body it could reach. Gamma was good, even some of the military men had complimented him on the fighting mat, but this was impossible. Gamma's muscles refused to move fast enough or precise enough to get a good block, and even then it hit so hard that his fatigued defenses buckled under the assault. A blow across to the side of his head marked the end, he wasn't even conscious to feel the successive hits that followed before the men behind the glass could hit the kills switch.
Gamma woke with a start. His surroundings had shifted to the military infirmary. His darting eyes soon found the familiar image of a tall, slender man dressed in a long white coat over the usual black fatigues of who some called Thugs. “Careful there, Blue.” The man said in a lightly scolding voice. “Sorry, Doc.” Gamma replied, forcing his leadlike muscles to prop him up into a sitting position. He felt tension on either side of him even before he heard the guards stiffen in response to his movements. “I don’t I’m going anywhere soon, boys.” He reassured them in a raspy voice. “Yeah, sure.” The larger man to his left grunted. “I remember you saying something like that before in the training room before you made a run for the hallway.” “I was young and foolish back then.” Gamma replied, his eyes searching for empty space. “That was last week.” The leaner man on his right said with some mirth. Gamma could feel the tension in the room begin to dissipate. Although They had given Gamma Blue over to the men in black many months ago for the purpose of expanding their testing possibilities, he hadn’t wasted the opportunity to try and make some friends. Doc finished up with his current patient before striding over towards Gamma. His stride was clipped and precise, just like the others who wore the black uniform. Without wasting a second he took the boy’s head in his hands in a firm grip and began to inspect him. “Now what’d they do to you this time, eh?” “Beat the s**t out of him is what they did.” The smaller guard remarked. “I heard the Captain is none too happy.” “Not your place, soldier.” Doc replied in a scolding tone. Finishing his inspection of Gamma the doctor nodded. “Looks like no permanent injury. Take him back to his pod.” He ordered the guards before turning his attention back to Gamma. “Captain says tracking exercises first thing tomorrow so make sure you get all the rest you can.” And with that the two guards hauled Gamma out of the bed and half escorted and half carried him out of the room and into the stark white hallway. Several minutes and a few twists and turns later the two guards deposited the young man in the small spherical room known as a pod, closed and locked the door. Gamma allowed himself a long sigh as he felt the aggression of the guards slowly drift down the corridor. The room itself was nicer than the specimen cell that he had inhabited before, but just barely. Slowly staggering over to his bed he used the last ounce of energy left in his body to lower himself onto the stiff mattress, and tried to block out the anxiety that started to drift in from the adjacent rooms. “Please. No nightmares tonight.” He pleaded to the empty room as he drifted off to sleep.

Beta woke with a start. He could hear Thug boots coming towards his room. These were not any Thugs though, they were the 55 Catchers. This team of five Thugs were the ones responsible for transporting Beta to and from the lab. They were put together once Beta had broken the first of the Docs machines. They had determined that sending any less to move him around would be folly, due to Beta's ability to avoid objects;this included hands and feet. Hearing their approach meant it was a day of experiments and not tests which was not a welcome idea to wake up to. He would make the Catchers work today. Grabbing the blanket off his tattered bed, Beta took position next to the door into his "room" and waited. He took this time to try to turn his vision back to normal but could still not turn it from infrared. Beta liked his new eyes, but hated his inability to use them. The infrared proved useful for observation but when something close quarters happened they were a hindrance; a hindrance he would have to deal with today. Beta could hear his catchers talking as they got closer. They seemed in good spirits, talking about a sports match that had been played the previous night. 'Good, they aren't expecting me to be much trouble today.' Beta thought. He heard them get to the door and get themselves ready, the door unlocked and began to swing inwards. John, their leader, was the first one in. "Alright Beta, lets go the Docs are wait..." John managed to say before Beta sprang into action. Beta shoved John into the room and threw the blanket over the second man in, before slamming the door shut again. Beta had only a moment to handle these two before the other three came in and together over powered him. John was already coming at him, even before the door was fully closed. Beta moved, dodging punch after punch, kick after kick, allowing John to tire himself out before moving to attack. He was about to take a swing, when he heard the ruffle of a blanket and turned too late to see the second man hurling the blanket over Beta. Beta was blind, the combination or residual heat and his own radiating body heat causing the blanket to appear like a bright pink blur to his infrared vision. He then heard the door open and knew the fight was over. Before he knew it, he was on the ground getting kicked by the entire five man team until he lost consciousness. Beta woke with a killer headache as well as a throbbing around his ears. He was startled to find himself in his room, unrestrained. His vision had even come back to normal, which was a good thing because upon sitting up he noticed a note on his door, which would have gone unnoticed with his infrared vision. In getting up, Beta could tell something was wrong, he couldn't hear. Reaching up to feel his ears, his hands met bandages wrapped around his head. 'Great, what have they done to me now?' Beta thought, as he went to investigate the note. The note was long and patronizing but Beta got the information he needed. As he read, Beta got angrier and angrier reading what they had done to him. Apparently they wanted to see how he would function without his sense of hearing. They had removed his ears and placed ceramic discs over the holes, which they then attached directly to his skull. They knew his healing would bring his ears back which was why the discs were implemented. Beta ground the note into dust and screamed. He screamed for as long as he could. He was getting out of this place, even if he had to die to do so.

I wake up as Theta goes to sleep. She doesn't like dealing with the Thugs, so I do. I protect her. They don't like me. Well the Docs do, the Thugs fear me. This makes me happy. The Thugs are leading me slowly towards the testing room. They all keep their eyes off me, barely touching me to make sure I don't bolt. I would like to run, but they don't have the keys to my shackles, so it is useless. Also I notice that one of the Thugs seems to have shoved his kerchief in my mouth to prevent me from talking to them. I scowl at this fact. Now I won't be able to have any fun on this slow walk.
We arrive at the testing room and the Thug retrieves his kerchief from my mouth immediately before entering the room. So the Docs don't want me gagged. This information makes me smile. The Thugs shove me through the door and lock it tight behind me.
The testing room is bright white, with a door on each wall that leads to hallways or other rooms. I take a few shuffling steps towards the middle of the room, wondering what sort of tests they will put me through today.
Two Docs enter from the door across from me and hold up their hands to halt my progress. The Docs that test me are different than the others in this place. None of their skin is visible, they have respirators, and ear protection. They don't want to risk me getting in their minds. This frustrates me. I halt where I am and glare at them, shouting at them to strangle each other. Knowing that it won't do anything, but enjoying the release of endorphins it gives me.
The door to my right opens and three other subjects are shoved through. They look starved and scared. "Come here." I whisper seductively to them, and without hesitation they move towards me, their eyes glazing over. "Attack them!" I shout once they close the distance, willing them to kill the Docs in the room. The subjects rush the Docs, wanting to tear them apart with their bare hands. Before they get within a metre of the Docs they are shocked by collars they wear and drop to the ground, unconscious. I return to glaring at the Docs.
The Docs send several more groups of subjects into the room with us, sometimes requesting I try and get the subjects to do certain things, to discover the limits of my abilities. It seems I can make people do things they are already thinking of doing, or things they might think of doing, however I cannot make people do something that goes against their deepest held beliefs. Which frustrates me.

Gamma Blue stood at the center of the cell when he felt the guards coming to collect him. He knew it was a waste of energy to start fights in the morning, energy better spent resting for today's trials. As the door swung open he stepped out into the midst of a trio of guards. Without a word they began to lead him back down the hall, two in front and one behind.
His fists clenched tighter as he passed through the turbulent waves of emotion emanating from each cell that he passed. He had noticed that his sensitivity to it had been growing by leaps and bounds recently. “It must have been that green chemical they’ve been pumping into me recently.” He thought to himself as the small group rounded the final corner out of the cell block.
After a few turns it was pretty clear that they were not heading for the physical testing wing. His status among the mercenaries had allowed him to see a lot of the facility, but even he hadn’t seen this far into the experimentation wing. The deeper he went the more the emotions pressed in around him. He could feel the pain and anguish flooding out through the soundproof walls. “I’ve felt these emotions before from other test subjects.” He thought “But this time it’s different. It’s… thicker, heavier.” As they rounded another corner the press of the emotions began to seep into Gamma, turning his stomach.
“I knew the experiments could get extreme, but this?” He though, his lips beginning to draw back into a snarl. A chorus of shrieks accompanied a crash of electric pain that pushed him past the breaking point. He could not stand such suffering to continue. He had to do something. Taking a deep breath he began to focus the rage that was building inside of him, focusing it into a red hot ball of anger in his mind. Just as it felt like his mind might split open he unleashed it towards the men walking in front of him.
It took the length of a hallway before the effect overwhelmed their military restraint. Gamma could see them getting twitchy, the guards starting to throw side glances at each other until they snapped. A sudden explosion of fists and curses erupted from the guards as they lunged towards one another, the larger guard pushing the smaller up against the wall. “Now!”
Gamma wheeled around before the rear guard could react, a swift elbow to the jaw knocking him back before a snap kick to the head silenced his aggression. Grabbing the key card off the man’s hip Gamma made a break down the hall, leaving the two guards grabbing at each other’s throat. He took a few random turns to get some distance between himself and the guards before swiping through the first door he could see. Bursting through the door he found a large round room with a pile of unconscious test subjects between two scientists and a small winged girl. Gamma could feel the whirlpool of curiosity, confusion and a rising tide of panic as yet another test subject was pushed through, this time a man of dark skin and black eyes.
For a moment everyone just stood there and stared at one another, but Gamma wasn’t going to wait long enough for the scientists to react. Taking two bounding steps towards them he leapt through the air and delivered a boot to each of their chests. As he came down on top of them he felt them spasm for a moment as the electric floor he had leapt over did its work, then, everything was still. Gamma let out a guttural growl at the stunned faces of the men beneath him, then drew himself up and looked at the others.
“I can only assume you’re in the same boat as I am.” Holding up the key card he let a small smile pull back his lips and display his pronounced canines. “I can offer a onetime deal to get out of here, but we need to go now before the guards catch on.”

The Docs were on the ground, dying. Beta was trying to understand what he had just witnessed. He had been trying to focus on anything outside the room to keep his mind off of what the Docs had done to the rest of the subjects in this room. Beta didn't know what they did, but the subjects weren't moving and he didn't want that.
Beta had watched this person from the second he entered the range of his infra red vision. The infra red vision was still a problem that needed to be solved, but Beta was starting to understand that when he had his eyes closed for long periods, his vision would always swap over to infra red. Apparently his body didn't want him blind ever. This person had been walking down the hall, escorted by three Thugs, it wasn't hard, even with infra red vision, to tell the Thugs apart from others; they carried all this extra junk on their belts which have all sorts of different heat signatures.
At first, Beta had thought that this was just another subject for today's tests. That is until the first two guards attacked each other for some unknown reason and this guy took out the third quickly. This guy was tough and fast, almost as fast as Beta but much better trained. Beta wished he had his hearing back so he could hear what this person was saying. He tried focusing very hard on his vision, and slowly the infra red began to fade, being replaced by black, white, and grey. "It's a start" he thought as he took a look around the room, after determining this new guy wasn't a threat.
There to his left was a pile of bodies, "more test subjects, based off their clothes" Beta thought to himself before checking to see if they were alive; they were, just unconscious. A little further he saw the only other test subject awake in the room. A young woman with big wings on her back, but those wings were restrained and it looked uncomfortable for her. She was also chained up to the floor and ceiling, with metal cuffs on her wrists and ankles. Beta went over to remove the restraints, starting at her ankle restraints and then moving onto her wrists..
As he approached, he could see that she was trying to say something while looking at him, but he couldn't read lips, so her words literally fell on deaf ears. "The Docs took my hearing, so I'm sorry but I have no idea what you're saying." Beta hoped he spoke that normally. He hadn't used his own voice since the Docs took his hearing, making his results of talking unclear. She did stop talking though, so hopefully she had heard it. He finished removing her restraints except the ones on her wings. He could see she was concentrating so he took a few steps back. This move turned out to be the right one because as he moved back, the girls wings busted out of their restraints and spread out rapidly; one would have hit him if he hadn't moved. "Damn, those wings are huge" he thought to himself as he took in this girl before moving his attention to the man who killed the Docs.
With the grey scale vision, Beta could make out the features of this man more clearly. He had an animal look to him, which made him look dangerous and predatory. "He would have done well on the football field" Beta thought as he took note of the key card in the mans hand. Looks like this was going to be a jailbreak. Beta went through the Docs jackets finding three pens and a scalpel. He picked them up and put them in his pocket.
Looking to the woman, he saw her talking to the other man and then moving towards him. When she got to him, they both looked over at Beta with a questioning look. Beta grinned and moved next to them. "This is going to be fun." he thought as they moved out of the room.

I am getting tired, even though I haven't moved since I entered the room, exerting my will upon others does tire me out eventually. I am ready to give up to Theta, let the Thugs come get me, when the door behind me opens. Thugs already? Nice timing. Unable to turn to look, I assume that it's the Thugs, and begin relinquishing control to Theta. But then a Blue blur rushes past me. A Blue?! They're never allowed near me. I start thinking of all the things I could get this not so loyal guard to do, before I realize he's already doing what I want him to. They didn't train him well enough. I think with a smile.
I look over at the other Subject in the room, and wonder if he can be an asset or not. Looking back at the Blue, I realize out of the two of them, I'd rather the Subject be the one getting close enough to release my restraints. "Hey you." I say in the Subject's direction, taking note of the metal plates on the side of his head. If he can't hear me, can I still control him? "Come here and let me free." The Subject begins moving towards me, so maybe I can. As he nears however, he informs me, in a strangely pitched voice, that he can't hear at all, so who knows. But he still undoes my arms and legs, so he's helpful.
At the potential escape route Theta began scrambling for control, and honestly I'm tired. With all my remaining strength I strain against my wing restraints, feeling the leather stretch and finally give. As the restraints snap and fall off, I collapse, exhausted.
I wake up lying on the floor of a room I've never seen before. Quickly taking in my surroundings I am sure of one thing, the man in blue is here to help. I awkwardly get to my feet, stretching my recently freed wings, and move tentatively towards him, careful to avoid the electrified floor. "How do we get out of here?" I ask, looking between my two new comrades.

Sensing no hostility from either of the test subjects Gamma Blue leapt off the smoking scientists, landing just outside of the faintly visible barrier of the electrified floor. As the other moved over towards him he took a quick second to size them up. The larger one carried himself with a confident stillness, no doubt in part due to his size and the augmentations he had received, but there was some training there he thought. The girl was much less sure and even seemed to have a quake in her step. None the less he could sense a great strength buried somewhere inside of her. "We'll have a better chance at escape together than alone, that's for sure." He thought.
"Right, time to get out of here before guards get here. They must have been monitoring the experiment from a control room somewhere." Gamma took a few strides towards the door before skidding to a stop and doubling back to tap the bigger man to get his attention, taking a few precious moments to over emphasize his words. "We need. To go. Now." A brief nod was the only response he needed before he led the trio out of the test chamber.
To his surprise the group moved with barely a whisper through the corridors. The bigger man had definitely received some training from the military men at some point. His long strides landed with a softness that was almost jarring to watch, while the little girl was so light on her feet that her footsteps on the hard metal floor were like distant drops in a sink. With Gamma in the lead, stretching out every sense to their breaking point, they were able to make their way slowly and without incident all the way to one of the smaller barracks in the facility. There he knew there would be a small service dock. It would be guarded to be sure, but not nearly as heavily as the two main entrances on the other side of the facility.
As they approached the double sized door Gamma hesitated, card in hand. This was as far as his knowledge of the facility went. Beyond this would be foreign territory to him. The lack of knowing what to expect gave him pause and in a moment he doubted the whole plan. Maybe he should strike the alarm on the wall beside him and bring the guards down on them. He could take credit for capturing two rouge test subjects, maybe even be fully promoted out of the blues and into the blacks. It might not be a bad life.
Taking a deep breath Gamma Blue bared his teeth in a snarl. "No, that would just be trading one cage for another." He thought to himself, "This is the only way to true freedom." Without another moment's pause Gamma slipped the card through the scanner beside the door, and it responded with the soul crushing sound of a rejected swipe. Gamma stared with desperation at the red light on the card reader before trying it again. The sound repeated for a half beat before the light went green and a cheery ding announced the opening of the door. Gamma stood motionless for a moment. Did they know which card he had and decided to let them through anyways? Shaking the dark thought away he motioned for the others to follow him in, leading them to a hiding spot near a mass of boxes and barrels near the inside of the large loading dock.
It was a good thing they had moved when they did, for no sooner had they made it to cover then a group of four guards made their way over to the open door. The lead guard, a man in a red barrette held up his wrist to his mouth, speaking in a quiet voice barely audible to Gamma.
"No sign of anyone, command." A slight pause before he spoke again. "Roger that, we'll lock it down." The man swiped a black card through the scanner on the inside of the room and the room came to life. The door they had just come through closed tight and the light on the scanner went dark. Similar slamming sounds, but several times deeper, could be heard from the opposite end of the room as the large loading doors came crashing down. Everywhere he could hear at least three other teams of guards racing about to take up positions throughout the room.
Turning away from where they had just came, Gamma slumped down against their cover. "Well, that's that." He said in a whisper. "We're locked in. Only thing that can open those doors are Command, and that black card."

This was not a room that Beta was familiar with, but he did enjoy all the cover and being able to make his own decisions. He had wanted to get out of this large scale science experiment for a while now; opportunity had presented itself in the form of the Blue. In watching his companions, Beta could see a hopelessness settle into the Blue which was not good, the girl was just crouched there looking like she was having a mental argument. Beta just left them to thinking and closed his eyes. He was hoping if he kept his eyes closed long enough they would switch into infrared. It took a minute but they slowly changed over.
His new vision made sense of the Blue's hopelessness, four groups of guards, each with four men had locked them in the room and were now searching the room for them. Beta smirked, this was going to be fun. He noticed one man in each group of Thugs had a gun; mistake number one, they clearly didn't know who was on the run. Without telling his companions, Beta moved. He slowly fell in behind the closest group of Thugs and pulled out one of his pens. The Thug with the gun was the furthest away from Beta, "I'm going to have to fight my way to him then" he thought as he moved on the first man of the group.
In one motion he threw his left hand over the Thugs mouth and with his right plunged the pen into the mans throat. It was oddly satisfying feeling the mans weight slump in his arms, but he had to be careful cause if the other three turned around all at once it might get a bit difficult. Thankfully, none of them turned around so Beta concluded he was quiet enough and grinned.
Taking the dead Thugs place, Beta waited for his next opportunity which came satisfyingly quick. The Thug went to look behind a crate pile and was dispatched just like his friend. Pulling the pen free from his most recent victim, Beta noticed that one of the two remaining in the group was doubling back for some reason. "He must be looking for this guy and his friend" Beta thought as he waited in ambush for the Thug to come around the crate.
This Thug was a little more cautious than his companions had been. He had a knight stick ready and was expecting an ambush. Beta quickly switched the pen for the scalpel and waited for the man to get in range. "Just five more feet and..." Beta exploded from behind the crate and threw the scalpel right into the mans opening mouth silencing his attempted call for help. Quickly moving to the man and finishing the kill, Beta turned his attention to the las Thug in this group; the one with the gun.
Beta had known, once he saw the gun, they would get out of this room if he could get it. The only problem with his plan was the guard had it at the ready and was one of the men who, if he saw Beta, would have tried to destroy the gun for fear of what Beta could do with it. The Thug was three crates ahead and one to the left, Beta pulled out a clean pen and threw it roughly near the Thug. He turned to the sound and moved to investigate. "Rats in a maze" Beta thought, as he threw the other clean pen pulling the Thug to within two crates of where Beta was crouching. The Thug was tense now and looking all over, gun moving with his eyes like a properly trained soldier.
Beta began to creep around his crate in the opposite direction the Thug was moving around his. Beta wanted to do what he planned before the man got a shot off. Beta watched as the man stopped and crouched before making the turn around the crate. "I hope he doesn't wait too long." Beta thought, thanking whoever built this room so big. If it was half the size it was he would have been captured probably after the first dead Thug.
The Thug was getting ready to move. This broke Beta out of his thoughts and he got ready as well, his last remaining pen in his right hand and the scalpel in his left. The Thug took a peak around the corner and saw nothing, as Beta was concealed to help draw the Thug into the open. Turning the corner slowly, the Thug began moving towards where Beta was hiding. "Just keep that gun in front of you. Yea like that." Beta thought as the gun poked around the corner Beta was crouched. The pen shot out to the handle of the gun and settled in, right behind the trigger making the gun impossible to fire until the pen was removed. Beta the yanked the man around the corner towards the ground, bringing the scalpel up at the same time slamming it into the mans lower jaw and up into his skull.
The look of recognition and fear were so nice to see on this mans face. Beta watched the man as he died before grabbing the gun and his scalpel back. Scalpel and pen went back into Beta's pocket, the gun kept in hand and ready. He grabbed a knight stick off each of the men he'd killed and went back to the other two. Thinking about his companions, Beta decided to take the long way so that they could see him coming. "I don't need that animal looking one to attack me" Beta thought as confirmation that he had the right idea.
Upon meeting up with them, he put the knight sticks on the ground and happily announced "Four down, twelve to go."

My whole body is vibrating with nervous energy We're going to escape! I followed the blue down hallway after hallway, my nervous energy changing into anxiety and fear. What if we get caught?! How long will it take to get out of here?!
We finally make it into what appears to be a loading dock, I can practically smell the outside. Then the sound of the outer doors closing cuts off my breath. We're trapped! I follow the Blue to a hiding spot behind some boxes. How... how do we get out of here? The other guy disappears. He's abandoned us, he knows it's a futile effort, we're all dead.
I slump to the ground and wrap my arms and wings around myself. I might as well give myself up, maybe the won't kill me.
Idiot! They might not kill us, but they will still treat us like less than animals!
My heart jumps. Who the ******** are you?!
Another by-product of the experiments here. I can help you get out of here.
How?
That's my secret, you just have to go to sleep for a minute, and I promise I'll get you to safety.
Promise?
Promise. I'll even see what I can do for this Blue that helped you.
Okay. I relax against the boxes and let my consciousness drift away. I stretch out my wings, and senses. The other subject is somewhere to the left side of the loading dock, on his way back and smelling of blood and success. The other three groups are spread out amongst the stacks of supplies. And the door... the glorious door to freedom is straight ahead.
I look the Blue dead in the eye, and barely breath, knowing he'll hear me. "Stay close to me and they won't see you." And with that I turn and head towards the other subject.
"Four down, twelve to go.""Shush, and stay close." I mumble to him, rolling my eyes at his overt show of force. We move along the left wall, keeping out of view of most of the guards. The guys tense behind me. group must be nearby I start mumbling to myself "You don't see us, there is nothing here." over and over again, exerting my will outward, trying to not catch my companions, but just the guards. We slow down as we get closer to them. I am not 100% sure this will work. The guys seem poised to attack, I hold out a hand to them, to stay them, we don't want to draw attention to ourselves if we can help it. I can now sense what the others could and halt against the wall as the group of four Thugs come into view around a shelf containing dried food stuff. Their eyes slide right over us and they move on past. All three of us let out a breath before continuing towards the door.
"Either of you know where the guy with the card that will let us out is?" I whisper as we get closer to freedom. Before they have a chance to answer though another group of Thugs come around the corner. YOU DON'T SEE US! THERE IS NOTHING HERE! My heart stops as I force my will upon them. Their eyes glaze over for a moment from the force of my attack, then they continue along. As they are moving away though I notice one of them is wearing the red barrette. I turn to look at the Blue to confirm that is the one we want. He barely nods and I take a few steps forward. "Excuse me." The group of Thugs stop and turn to look at me, hands on their weapons, but confused, part of their brains still thinking I am invisible. I take a steadying breath. I want to make them kill each other... but that's too risky, getting outside is more important. "I seem to have found my way in here by accident and then the doors closed behind me, if you would be so kind as to open the door for me..." I see the lead Thug struggle with himself, he knows something about this is wrong. I force more of my will at him. This has to work.
"Come on boss, she's just a little lost." One of the underlings says, never taking his eyes off me. I smile seductively at him, and can hear his heart rate increase. "O alright." The leader says gruffly, still seeming confused about the situation.
I motion behind me for the Blue and other subject to approach, "Don't worry they can't see you." I whisper to them, making sure I continue to push that thought upon the group.
Together the seven of us walk towards the loading dock doors, and thankfully we don't encounter another group of Thugs, I don't think I'd be able to maintain another will exertion. The leader take out the black card and swipes it in the card reader by the door. The loading doors begin to rise, and I can smell the sweet scent of trees, and dirt and animals. The outdoors.
Clearly someone is contacting the man in the red barrette for he pauses, then holds his wrist up to his mouth. "Just some girl got lost in the woods and ended up in here before we locked it down. Just letting her out." Panic. I have to get out now! YOU SEE NOTHING! DON'T SHOOT! The loading doors are barely open, but I run at them, folding practically in half to make it under them. As the sunshine hits my face I open my wings to their full extension and leap into the air. YOU SEE NOTHING! DON'T SHOOT! With each down stroke of my wings I get further and further away. The panic subsides, I'm free!
Red hot pain. I'm falling. There's blood. Trees are getting closer. I hit a tree and stop for a second, able to see the hole through my wing, before the branch I fell on snaps, and I fall all the way to the forest floor. I black out.
