100 years after Princess Alana defeated Ethelberd, he has returned and holding more power. Thanks to Lady Alana, the Earthmates have continued to survive. Now, two young Earthmates, along with some friends, have to figure out a way to defeat Ethelberd once and for all. But there is no need to focus on just defeating the enemy of the Earthmates, one must relax and enjoy life in the town of New Selphia.


Location: New Selphia was made a few years after the defeat of Ethelberd since the town had sustained damage that was mostly not repairable. Prince Arthur, getting support from his father, and Princess Alana headed the building of New Selphia. It was built in the exact image of Selphia, what is known now as Old Selphia, only bigger so the town can continue to grow. The castle was also built bigger to accommodate the growing Royal Family. Everything, however, was built in the exact image of what Selphia looked like, keeping all the old locations in tact, only giving them a face lift on the inside to handle the increased population. In addition, there were some lands near New Selphia that were extremely fertile and farms have been built on them. With these additional fields, including the 5 at the castle, Selphia became entirely independent, only importing exotic crops. Because there were plenty of monsters that provided different produce, each of the outlying farms specialized in one type. Milk, Eggs, Honey, and Wool, with the castle being able to host any and all monsters that dropped something.

Positions: There are different jobs one could have. Here are some to get started. I can always add more as we come to need it:

Earthmate Royal (Prince or Princess):
From the line of Prince Arthur and Princess Alana. Alana was the last remaining Earthmate before her 3 kids were born. The line continued through the eldest child each generation, all the way to the current Prince or Princess. Since being an Earthmate, you can work the farm at the castle, with it bearing all sorts of crops, even if out of season. There are also Monster Barns that you can tend to. The only Monster that is there from the beginning is Thunderbolt, a Horse type monster. Being an Earthmate, you can befriend monsters that can fill these barns. Either a Prince or a Princess. Must be single.

Dragon Knight:
Back during the time of Alana and Arthur, there was a female knight that stood up to the test of being a knight. Her name was Forte, like the musical term that means to be loud. Forte's legacy was that her own child became a knight, and then her grandchild, and her great grandchild. Even after her death, the line of Forte produced many Dragon Knights. Even though there isn't a Native Dragon in New Selphia, the position of Dragon Knight still remained, being the protector of the Royal Family. Lives in a house by themselves. The house has two rooms should the Dragon Knight want to have a house mate, or uses the room for training. Can be either male or female. Must be single.

Head Butler:
This is just a normal position. If there is a Butler-in-Training, they train the butler. If there is just a butler, then they work with the butler to make the meals, keep the castle and square tidy, and assist the Royal Family in any way. These butlers can also be taken into battle as that is a requirement to be on the Castle Staff. Traditionally an older male, can be either male or female of the elder age. Can be married or Single. Lives in the castle in the west wing. One giant room split into three separate living areas. The larger of the three areas is for the Head Butler as it also contains a large office.

Butlers/Butlers-in-training:
The Butler/in-training can be either male or female. either way, the job is the same, if in training, they will learn from the Head Butler on how to do things, but are relatively just like a Butler until they pass the exam. In either position, they help the Head Butler prepare meal, keep the castle and square tidy, and assist the Royal Family. One additional job that they have is that they are in charge of shipping out whatever the Royal Family as dedicated to ship and pick up anything in the Town Ship Box that the outlying farmers have placed in. Must be single regardless. Lives in the castle in the west wing. One giant room split into three separate living areas. There are two smaller rooms for the butlers/in-training that are right next to each other. Each have a small desk so paperwork can be worked on. Either one or two people can fill this position.

Restaurant Owner and cook:
The owner of the restaurant must be from the Sainte-Coquille family, and can either be male or female, single or married. In addition to being the owner, they are also the head cook of the restaurant that they own. The live upstairs to the restaurant in one of three rooms and own the office that is off the dining area. Also you rent it out to a trader that may come to town and board them.

General Store Owner:
The owner of the General Store can either be male or female, married or single. The store is below the living quarters. There are two bedrooms in the living quarters. It is up to the owner to decide if they want to rent it out to a helper that may come to town or leave it for future kids, or current children if married.

Doctor:
Must be from the line of Jones and Nancy. Jones and Nancy were around during the time of Alana and Arthur and didn't have children until after moving to New Selphia. They had two boys, with the oldest son becoming a doctor and inheriting the clinic and his father's fear of blood. Through generations, the eldest child has taken on the role, including the fear of blood, after going through medical school in the capital city of the Norad Kingdom. Does not have to be married to nurse. Can be male or female, single or married. Must have at least a slight fear of blood.

Nurse:
Assists the Doctor. Must be female regardless of the gender of the Doctor. Doesn't have to be married to doctor. Can be either single or married. Aids the doctor in trying to overcome fear of blood.

Farmers (Milk, Egg, Honey, or Wool):
Regardless of what specialty monster produce is chosen, each farmer has four fields to plant crops. Unlike the Castle Fields, the moment that the seasons change, the previous seasons crops wither. Also each farm has two specialty types of crops even though anything can be grown with little trouble. These specialty crops result in higher quality. Milk Farmers are Roots and Leafy, Egg Farmers are Tall/Vine and Spices, Honey Farmers are Flowers and Tea, and Wool Farmers are Tree and Mushrooms. All fields can grow grains and rice equally. All Farmers can upgrade their farms to have rice paddies by contacting the Castle. Milk and Honey farms are next to each other and share a path into New Selphia on the East side while Egg and Wool farms share a path on the West side. Just before going into New Selphia, at the end of path is a Town Ship Box. Farmers can add their products that they wish to be shipped to the Capital before 8am the next morning. Each farm has their own logo so the money gained will be able to be returned by 9pm the night that they shipment has been made. Each farm also has a Silver wolf to help pull the cart with the shipments. Since it is a magic Ship Box, no need to worry about overloading the Ship Box. Farmers can either be male or female, single or married.

Innkeeper:
Traditionally female, can be either male or female. Since the inn is styled in the Eastern style, the innkeeper is usually of Eastern descent. Can be single or married. Lives in a room just off from the front desk on the main floor. This room holds two rooms. the second one can be used for either children or for an assistant should one come to town. Second floor holds the baths for both male and female. Third and fourth floor is the rooms that contains 10 rooms on each floor.

Musician:
Must be an Elf. Can be brought out of the Elven Kingdom by the Restaurant owner or could have left on own accord. Works in the Restaurant regardless of how they came to New Selphia as the musician. Often writes own music or plays something they have learned over the years. Lives in a house by themselves. Traditionally female, but can be either male or female. Must be single.

Flower Shop owner:
Traditionally an Elf, can be elf, human, or dwarf. Traditionally female, can be male or female. Must be single regardless. The Flower Shop owners in the history of New Selphia adopted the self proclaimed title of Town Detective ever since the original owner of the shop, Illuminata, was a self proclaimed detective. This owner is no different. Must be a self-proclaimed detective regardless. Living quarters are upstairs. Has two bedrooms for an assistant that may come to town.

Blacksmith:
Must be a Dwarf and must be a male. Laziness is an option. The forge is one level and the shop is ran out of the front, and the bedroom is off to the side. Since the flame is rarely put out, the forge is often a place of warmth. Can be single or married

Some interesting details and rumors:

- the castle has three areas, West wing where the butlers live, Central area where the dining hall, kitchen and common area are, and the East wing where the royal family resides.

- Legends of the four Guardians are still around. The four guardians are Leon the fox guardian, Dylas the horse guardian, Dolce the puppet guardian and Amber the butterfly guardian. Rumors have it that they are still alive after having seemingly eternal life since they became guardians. They were brought out of their Monster forms during the time of Alana and Arthur. Thunderbolt was the monster form of Dylas that still survived. Some say that they all have children as well that are alive still. There is another rumor saying that there is a fifth guardian.

- There are 6 days in a week. Holiday is the weekend. Some stores are closed on these days. Others are open. All stores, however, are closed during festivals, with the exception of the Inn, Clinic and the Restaurant.

- On most nights, when the moon is out, howling can be heard in the town. Locals have grown accustomed to hearing it and quite enjoy hearing the howling. They can sense it is full of love and hope.

- Some travelers have claimed that they have seen inhabitants in Old Selphia, mainly around the location where the castle stands, as that is the only building with it mostly still intact. But no one is able to confirm it.

RP Rules and Guidelines

1. Follow guild rules. They also apply here. So I'm not going to list anything that is already on that list.

2. All Profiles must be sent to me. Please use "New Selphia Resident Application" as the subject so I know what you want. If I don't see it and I catch that it's a profile, I won't accept it.

3. I or one of my vices will move the day. So please take note of the time of day.

4. This RP happens 100 years after the game, so clothes should look more modern than what you would find back in the time of Alana and Arthur. In saying that, anime pictures are preferred. Just make sure it's in every post and is a decent size.

5. Music is more on the classical sides of things. Piano is the main instrument in the town of New Selphia, so if you link music, please note that Kanye West and Taylor Swift don't exist.
