Lawrence opens his eyes to the bathroom in all its opulent glory, reflected candles gleaming in hundreds of mirrors and the warm polish of gold fixtures. Surrounded by small mountains of foam America turns in the tub to face him.

"Happy New Year!" There is a smiling newness to her and it's immediately apparent that it's the clone. "Isn't this just the fanciest?"

Finding himself in a new situation there was none of the usual disorientation most people experienced in Lawrence. He knew firmly who he was and therefore there was not a great deal to figure out on awakening somewhere else, even if that somewhere else seemed to be out of step with where he had been. Quickly he recognised the location, avoiding himself in the mirrors and immediately chalked the missing time up to something to do with his personas or some shift in his mind he didn't understand or care to understand. He was who he was and that was something he understood.

"Happy new year." he said quietly as he took her in, trying to keep the approval out of his voice. "And it is. Is this real? Are you real?" Was it just another Wonderland or was it something else entirely? "Or am I just losing my grip again?" It was not like it had not happened on occasion in the past.
