I've been on hiatus for quite some time as I've been dealing with writers block, bu this year I plan on writing and indulging in other stories as well.

What was the best fan fiction you WROTE this year?
That probably goes to my story, Simple, which was my first foray into Captain America/MCU fandom. It has the most reviews, kudos, and subscriptions of any story that I've ever written. I'm hoping to finish it before this upcoming July.

What was the best fan fiction you READ this year?
Oh, man. Hands down, the best fic I read last year was to memory now I can't recall by Etharei. It's a Stucky fic where WinterSoldier!Bucky and 1940s!Bucky swap places and there are time travel shenanigans and fighting Hydra and it's just a really fantastic story.

What was the BEST review you got all year?
This is tough, because several of my fics this year got a lot of love. Someone told me that I almost made them throw up while reading the war flashbacks in If I Stay Here, and I had a couple people tell me that they were crying during different scenes in Simple (including someone who just said "It's almost 3am and you're hurting me."). Probably my fave, though, was the one I got when I posted the rest of Warm Strangers on the PWKM: anonymous told me that they'd been a fan of the stories for years and years, and that they were super happy to see it finally completed.

What was the WORST review you got all year?
I've gotten a string of 'Don't post more than one chapter a day' reviews from someone who thinks they're the fandom police on FFN. rolleyes Oh, and someone ranted at me for a chapter that "showed very poor ability to advance plot without reverting to cliches," and accused me of using hurt/comfort cliches and not allowing the characters to "use their high level thinking skills." Whatever. I had fun and that's where I wanted the story to go.

How many fics did you write?
Thirteen new stories, one chapter update on an old story, and the completion of another (there's one more that's not finished and is partially posted a kinkmeme but not yet on any of the archives I use). According to my AO3 word count stats, supposedly I wrote 148,728 words in 2015. eek

How many fandoms did you write for?
Uh. . . Seven and a half? sweatdrop Does it count as "being in the fandom" if it's a crossover fic?

How many authors did you favorite?
Thirteen.

How many people favorited you?
No idea. rofl

I'm gonna go ahead and say, "yes". Since when a person searches for that fandom crossover fics still appear on the list as being fics for that fandom. So, yes, crossovers count.

What was the best fan fiction you WROTE this year?
Perfectly Preserved. It's a Fallout fic that I've yet to publish but I prefer it over everything else I've written this year, which is kind of sad. sweatdrop
What was the best fan fiction you READ this year?
The Visitor, which is an old Harry Potter fic.

What was the BEST review you got all year?

It's hard to say... I think quite possibly a review in which the reader said one of my stories was the best in the fandom and genre that they had come across. Of course that's totally subjective and, in my opinion, incorrect but I appreciated it greatly.
What was the WORST review you got all year?
One in which the reader tried to educate me on proper character growth. Apparently, character growth only occurs when a character has sex with another character. I honestly wouldn't have been annoyed if they had just been upfront about their motives- they just wanted smut. They could have said that instead of trying to make me seem like a moron.

How many fics did you write?

Six.
How many fandoms did you write for?
Four.
How many authors did you favorite?
Three, I think.
How many people favorited you?
I have no clue. More than forty.

What was the best fan fiction you WROTE this year?
Sandalwood. A Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle story about Raphael and Leonardo (2003 version). Which is funny because I didn't like it for a while but after revisiting it six months later I realize I am very proud of it.

What was the best fan fiction you READ this year?
After the Season. A TMNT story where Mikey gets a cold after Christmas and gets taken care of by his family. A very sweet and wonderful slice of life.

What was the BEST review you got all year?
Good question. Honestly, since this was my first year writing for the TMNT fandom, the reviews I got where people liked my characterization and didn't think they were OOC were the best.

What was the WORST review you got all year?
I haven't gotten anything necessarily bad. Nothing that berated or tried to lecture me on what I was doing / writing. The worst probably was some roleplaying comment where the person acted like their OC and added a little ending as if they were actually there. It irked me to say the least. I ended up deleting it. (It was on AO3)

How many fics did you write?
Six
How many fandoms did you write for?
One
How many authors did you favorite?
A lot! Over Ten at least. Probably closer to twenty. (It was my first year indulging in copious amounts of Ninja Turtle stories)
How many people favorited you?
Not sure. Maybe five?

What was the best fan fiction you WROTE this year?

The best fanfic I wrote in the past year still needs a title and some very minor editing (it's as of yet still unposted). I wrote it in August. It's the longest one-shot I've ever written and is an awesome introduction to a longer story that I'm working on. It's a one-shot since it's from a different character's pov than the longer story will be. One of my beta readers read it and had the reaction to it that I was hoping for. The twist is a little bigger than expected. I think it makes a good impact and I'm hoping that others really enjoy it when I do get to posting it (which won't be until I'm ready to start posting the longer fic).

What was the best fan fiction you READ this year?

The best fanfic I read in the past year… oh, such a tough choice, but I'm going to go with what I said in a different thread and choose Nexus by HappyLeif. It was posted in the past year (as opposed to stories that were updated in the past year, but had their first chapter or more posted in a previous year). And, while it is still ongoing, the writing level is excellent, the mystery and ******** (psychological/abstract aspect to it) is fantastically written, and the suspense is tantalizing. I'm looking forward to seeing more. Heh, not to mention that it's the best characterization (most in-character compared to canon) of Clockwork (character from Danny Phantom) that I've ever read in a fanfic. He's a tough character to get right, and HappyLeif gets him right!

What was the BEST review you got all year? / What was the WORST review you got all year?

I only got one review in 2015 and it was positive as well as constructive. Considering the story that got reviewed was something I wrote and posted in 2005, I'm happy with the review!

Quote:
Aw! Even though they didn't admit their feelings to each other (and that made it all the better), it was really good! The concept was a really good idea, I didn't expect it to be anything like that. Maybe a little short, and you lack thought/dialogue marks. But overall, great!

How many fics did you write?

I haven't posted any fanfics this past year, but I worked on a lot of them. I keep a writing log, so looking at that… I got 40 chapters completed for 17 fanfics (6 one-shots, 4 chaptered fics, 7 one-shot collections), and I'm in the middle of 28 chapters for 20 fanfics (6 one-shots, 8 chaptered fics, 6 one-shot collections) (I mean "in the middle" as in, the chapter was partially written in 2015, but not yet complete). I worked on planning for 55 fanfics (in 2015) out of the 85 or so total that I intend to complete. After I do finish them, I'm actually quite hoping to be done with fanfic! I've also dropped a number of ideas. (and if these numbers seem crazy, I do focus mostly on one-shots, and I've already posted over 40 fanfics, where only a handful are actually more than one chapter - but I'm pushing myself now to write a lot more chaptered fics).

How many fandoms did you write for?

Hmm, I've got a lot of things planned for various fandoms (I did a ton of planning in the past year). I completed chapters for 2 fandoms. I wrote partial chapters for 5 fandoms. I've got stories planned for 13 fandoms total (possibly another 5 or so, but I may drop those ideas).

How many authors did you favorite?

I didn't fave any authors this past year, but I have a list. When I start to post again, I will fave those authors on that list, and add stories to my faves and to my communities. Right now I'm kind of hiding in the shadows. I'm setting it up so that I'm in a position where I can respond to people if/when they pm me, and also so that there is fresh stuff on my profile if/when people decide to take a look at me (which will be more likely to happen when I'm faving them and their stuff and being more active in general than right now when I'm not). The plan is to: write the stories first, set up a posting schedule, start to post and fave people/stories on my list, etc.

The first story I posted was in 2004. The most recent story I posted was in 2013. I didn't post anything in 2010-2012 and 2014-2015, so it'll be fine if I hold off a little longer (2013 proved to me that I still have fans and people liking my stories, and I haven't gone a year without getting a review or fave or what have you). And if one of my beta partners is anything to go by, a story she hasn't updated since 2005 is still getting people following it, and she is actually working on it (but it's going through a major re-edit overhaul before she finally finishes it). She has mentioned on her profile that she's still working on it.

How many people favorited you?

1 person faved and followed me in 2015, and 4 others also started to follow me.
I got 1 review, 25 faves for various stories, 7 follows for various stories (which is funny, since they're all completed), and stories of mine added to 6 communities in 2015. Not bad for an inactive posting year!
