The Dodo's nest. A mysterious tree stands illuminated by dancing fireflies on the edge of a dark forest. This home belongs to the young Ryland and his feathery companion, Robin. The nest is a rather large place in itself, with several entrances, secret passageways, stairs on the exterior as well as the interior and many unique and intriguing rooms. All are welcome in The Dodo's Nest, people and creatures alike often come and go, finding solitude and peace on some of the highest branches, as well as comfort on the exuberant emerald grass down below.

PECK
"I'm up, I'm up!" mumbled Ry in a hoarse, sleepy voice as he rubbed his eyes roughly turning them a little puffy and red. Looking up through bleary eyes he saw Robin, his faithful feathery friend cocking her head at him a little as if to say 'stop being so lazy!'. He had to wonder why, Robin usually did appreciate the importance of a good nights sleep, she only ever pecked him awake like that if he had something to do, or... Looking over to the sun dial he groaned and sank back under the covers like a child. He'd slept all day. Well, it wasn't exactly the first time...
PECK
"I know! I understood you the first time! Pesky bird..." Throwing the covers off suddenly and straightening up out of bed, he felt a cold chill hit him, sending shivers up his spine. "You're really making me get up, huh?" He sighed looking out of the window in to the cold, dark night. The rain was hitting the window furiously like bullets, and the wind rattled the windowpanes like vengeful ghosts. Shaking his head, he pulled himself together, walking purposely over to the wardrobe and pulling on warm clothes haphazardly. "Well, better late than never." Glancing in to the mirror fleetingly on his way out of the door he shook his unruly hair to its state of perfect messiness, not that it mattered considering there was a veritable storm outside. Whistling to himself, he noticed that his companion was ruffling her feathers huffily. Ry rolled his eyes with a slight smile, of course, he hadn't fed her yet. The old bird was surprisingly high maintenance, a bit like an ex-girlfriend of his. Pouring some grain out into a bowl, she began to peck and crunch happily. Stretching out her beautiful wings, Robin happily flew back to her cushion and fell asleep almost immediately. She never came out in bad weather.
That was when Ry decided to take his leave, he hadn't decided what to do with the small amount of day he had left to use. He just knew he'd probably be back in a couple of hours, go back to bed and start afresh in the morning ( and hopefully actually wake up ).
