Does anyone else notice that they draw differently when they're in different states of mind? This can be different moods in a day to day sense, or having gone through life changing events.
After finishing school I ended up having a breakdown and didn't paint or draw for a long time. A whole bunch of other stuff has happened since then, including me getting into illustration and attempting to establish an online presence. While I still have a long way to go, I have noticed that my drawing and painting now is totally different to previous periods in my life. I'm regaining a sense of calm and it's starting to become reflected within my work. I also used to take a lot of drugs and as a result my work was manic and a lot harsher looking and it's sad because I miss my work looking like that. I feel like it had more attitude and that it was just cooler in general.
Eh, I'm rambling. Just reflecting on things I guess. Anyone else had similar experiences?
