Well, I've been an FA for sometime now, but I've only recently been open about it. I was pleasantly surprised to see that no one was all "OMFG, YOU SICKO!!!!!111" about it. I was releaved to say the least.
Discussion: Are you willingly open about being an FA? If you are, how were you received by others?

That's incredible news, man. Congrats.
I haven't had the pleasure of not being ridiculed just yet, but I'm sure it'll happen eventually.
At least my girlfriend doesn't care, yeah?
The few times I have been open about it, I don't think anyone really takes me very seriously. Like I'm joking or something. Ah well.

[x]It's awesome that people were cool about it. I just might put some faith back into humanity.

I'm glad for you. heart I bet that's a good feeling.
I'm really not open about being much of an FA. Nobody I know in the real life knows that I like that, and nobody really knows that I'm into girls.
I would be open about being into girls, but I kinda ******** that up a while ago. Y'see, I've been questioning the fact on whether I do like girls or not for the past couple of years, and right now, I'm pretty sure I do feel that way... but I've made it clear to my friends that I'm straight. Eh heh.

When I was dating my ex, I felt so weird being around his friends, who all had skinny girlfriends... I don't know, I just wondered if he felt uncomfortable too....I wasn't around his friends much anyways..... Ah the highschool drama. All my friends know that I am bisexual, and that when it comes to girls I am a total FA. But I am chubby girl, so it's not shocking. I've never been ridiculed for being an female FA, If I did it wouldn't matter. Everyone has a preference and if others can't accept that, then they need to ignore it. It doesn't matter what others think of you, because you know what you think of yourself- which is what matters.

Of course, you don't want to shove it down their throats either. I only mention it if the subject comes up or I'm in proper company.

I've told a bunch of people. For me it's pretty much a 50% chance that they treat me like a freak.

I've told my friends and my creative writing class, but I don't think the latter really took it seriously. Most of the time I think it just isn't taken seriously.

Fuzzy Necromancer I've told my friends and my creative writing class, but I don't think the latter really took it seriously. Most of the time I think it just isn't taken seriously. It's funny how it's not usually taken seriously by most people. That tells me that we need to start more FA/BBW awareness groups. 3nodding People reacted very well to me when I started to speak up. As a matter of fact, even some skinny girls thought that it was very sweet/cute that I like thick chicks (Appearently, people are starting to learn that fat girls need love too. heart ).

I've actually talked about this with my friends and how it's hard to find a guy to open up like this..and they think I'm weird. They are like, "Why are guys like that? No guy is like that, they all like girls that are skinny."
