... Several days later

Does it ever feel like the days just blur by? Where one day bleeds into the next? Today... is just another day. Pulling my eyes away from the pages of my book. Finding that I kept reading rereading the same sentence over and over again. Focus it seems displaced.

"Would you like a refill?"

Turning my head, the blur of words and empty pages became a fog, along with the surroundings. Feeling the fog lift, I realized someone was speaking towards me. My blank stare was replaced quickly, "No thanks, I'm good." Watching the waitress move on, I couldn't help but notice the tv in the background, still talking about the invasion. Could the news crew not hang on one topic? Or was this something that the public enjoyed? Well.. at least the news stations were not focusing on Lex Luthor or the Metahuman Registration Act anymore.

Hard to believe it was just another normal day for the world. Everything almost comes to the end at the hands of a yellow skinned alien despot a few days ago, and now everything is just fine and dandy. The world was calm again, or at least as calm as it could be. The good guys were in the spot light again, having put an end to the threat, but that only meant that the bad guys would start showing up sooner or later. It was inevitable. People Superman, Batman, even herself, they were magnets to those kind of individuals.

"Just another day than."
She muttered to herself, watching the streets of Metropolis from up high.Fifteen hundred or so feet from the ground, she kept herself busy in Metropolis these days, keeping an eye on the city. Sure, the Man of Steel was back, but he couldn't be everywhere at once. He kept himself busy with the League these days, and she still wasn't sure if it was something she was ready to be a part of yet.

At least they were all given another chance. Not just the heroes, everyone. The world! Not too many are given that privilege. Placing a marker along the pages of Anatomy and Physiology of the Heart book, he had been studying. He realized he was probably holding up the table at the diner he was sitting at. Paying his tab, as well as leaving a tip for the waitress. He began gathering up his books and laptop. This semester was going to be hard, he could already tell. Having a day off to catch up on some errands, reading and possibly some Zzz's was definitely a plus in his book. Slipping on his satchel and winter coat, he departed the diner heading outside. Upon exiting the warm environment, the cold, brisk air provided a nice harsh welcome to the swift change of weather. Sunlight was beginning to show through the low hanging clouds surrounding Metropolis. The coldness in the air, felt nicer than the cold hard stares he would receive from the every day Joe. Some people appreciated that there were heroes out there that would do the job, that no one else would have the balls to do. While there were others that could careless that there were heroes and well doers about. Can't please everyone. And beggars can't be choosers either. Everything felt... different. Even life.

Dr R-lyeh
She felt a slight uneasiness and cold feeling run down her spine. As if someone was watching her from afar. Her mystical senses told her this. She looked around her room, wondering what this odd feeling was. Then she knew she felt it before..many years ago. At the edges of the Universe, when the breach between dimensions first occurred! Her and Furious knew something escaped that time, into this dimension and it took then time to locate it...even though it was set back and stopped from gaining the Necronomicon in temporary defeat in New Orleans at Furious Styles magical sanctuary with Her help and the help of The Marvel Family. This being sought revenge! As it looked thought its scrying bowl of ancient origins, he smiled as he finally located her. She could not hide forever...he would have his revenge. she then heard a garbled laughter for a moment then it faded away as he stopped viewing her..The time would come when they would meet face to face again..She would truly witness something from her deepest and darkest Nightmares!

The unnerving sensation of an event in time was rerunning in her mind. Playing over and over and over again, as if the record player needle had gotten stuck among one of the many groves along the surface of an old record. Causing Traci to be distracted, as she made her way through along the crowded sidewalk she was treading upon. She knew that she needed to get in touch with Furious and the Sentinels. But they....The Sentinels of the Justice League, disbanded. The majority of the members vanished without a trace. Running her fingers across her forehead that revealed the tattooed number '13' and burned scar tissue alongside of her face. She didn't realize that she had practically bumped into some guy along the sidewalk. Continuing on the path that was chosen for her, Traci was so distracted that she didn't even bother to apologize to the guy she bumped into. Walking, as if lost in some unknown trance, walking in rhythm along with the masses of people heading into some unknown destination.

It felt like a whole new few days than what he remembered. The world was in danger yet again and all seemed hopeless when you thought about it. The Justice League's disbandment, very few heroes to come together and stop a rising threat. When all seemed bleak, there they were, some of his role models and even friends up in the sky to once again save the day. It inspired him to continue on just as those above him did. Although as lives were just as important, he knew that when he had downtime it was wise to keep up on his classes. He transferred all the way to Metropolis from Detroit for a more quality education that fit his needs. What better environment than a busy establishment. He made himself comfortable in an unoccupied area that seemed to be set off from other individuals. Virgil's spread of education was laid out in order of his subjects. The math, the science, the majors. It was a mess, doubled by the drink and food he ordered.

It was a quiet life, a little too quiet and not what he was used to. His daily schedule was comprised of donning the Static uniform almost in second nature with the crime rate in Detroit. Here it wasn't easy to find crimes to stop with Superman occasionally about, not to mention other heroes who've taken up residence and the Super family themselves. When he thought about it, it wasn't so bad, to focus on a future that would really further him in life. "Let's hope the student loans were worth it.." He said, grimacing the fact that he must continue. Virgil raised his pencil, hopefully not coming off as rude as he was hoping one of the workers would address him for another order.

"HEY!" Julian exclaimed in surprise! So much for the thought that things had changed. The rudeness in the city had not. The suddenness of the girl bumping into him caused Julian to pause. Seeing what appeared to be an imprinted number along the girl's forehead. Giving a shake of his head, he tried to shake off the feeling that this was a sign of things to come. Gripping onto the straps of his satchel he debated following the girl. "To follow or not?" He muttered to himself. Taking too long to decide, hesitance was settling in and making him hold back from going on an adventure. There was always an unexplained reason as to why he was stopped from doing something. He learned to listen to the voice of reason. But then there were times where he didn't listen and got him into situations that he barely walked away from. Julian knew he might regret not following her, for now, he headed off to run the errands he knew needed to get done before the end of the day.

drake sat in is very fancy car with a cigarette in his mouth and the sex pistols on the radio, with every exhale he thought about everything that happened. his mission was simple, go to america, meet the heroes, become one. he went in under the cover of a terrible spy but in reality the knights are very far from what an average spy might be. they weren't quiet or careful, oh no, if a knight needed to be involved it was messy and it was loud. unfortunately for drake it was messy and loud, his capture that is, was messy and loud. he thought there in anger about how he offered help to the justice league and they just wrote him off as some kid and let that bald b*****d and his Eskimo boyfriend take him away only for drake to be picked up by Waller to join her little band of psychos yea the plan went great he thought while waiting in metropolis to be contacted. he thought he'd come out of this whole situation a hero, instead he became a wanted criminal and frozen, at least his dads history with the us government saved him from being locked in a basement with an explosive collar around his neck. he tossed the cigarette out of the car "same crap different day i guess" he said with a sigh, he wasn't very fond of this brave new world he got shoved into but it beat being in new castle with you know who getting into god knows what

Traci Thirteen was suddenly stricken with one more vision of utter macabre madness that appeared in her minds eye and this one struck her like no other before. It may have been a vision of what was to come, or perhaps her mind was playing tricks on her. Regardless, this vision shook her to her core and it would linger and poison her thoughts for a time. It has been said that sleep can bring peaceful dreams, or it can bring the stuff that nightmares are made of. For what she witnessed in her thoughts was truly sick and twisted! It stunned her and she closed her eyes to shake away the vision..however, some visions can not be forgotten as they can linger in one's thoughts like a black mass of sickening horror and can pull at the psyche and leave lingering thoughts of terror and bleakness

Traci stopped walking, grabbing onto the sides of her head. She had been trying so hard NOT to lash out from the visions invading her mind. Purple electrical discharge began to emit all along the outline of her body. The power grew the longer she tried to bottle up the sensation, causing her entire body to become a beacon of pulsating light admist the crowd of civilians around her. Many people stopped to see what was going on. Perhaps a street performer? While others were scurrying away, just in case something bad was about to happen. Power from within Traci suddenly let loose a forceful concussive blast. Anyone that may have been near her, was instantaneously thrown a good twenty feet from where she stood. Even the concrete sidewalk beneath her feet crumbled from the immense blast that was released. The blast alone would get anyone's attention. She wasn't thinking, she wasn't concentrating. Nor did she mean harm to any innocent who just happened to be near her as power erupted wildly. As the light grew around her, so did the blast radius. Sounds of panic could be heard, along with screams of terror, yet Traci could not hear them. She was in the process of trying to expel the images tattooing their presence in her brain. Unknowingly placing others in danger in the process.

If the loud disruption wasn't enough, then the gathering of several onlookers with their smartphones held high definitely indicated that something was amiss. Whatever it was, it was close by and clearly and issue that needed to be addressed..sadly as far as Virgil knew, by him. "You've gotta be kidding me." He smacked his hand over his forehead taking in that disturbances were all around at the worst times. Virgil packed his bag with his notebooks and other academic items and made haste out of the back exit of the establishment. With experience and practice, unraveling his superhero ensemble was easily done while running and he was going at a decent rate down the alley. Up and away on his hoverboard he went, immediately surveying the ground below him. You literally couldn't miss it, a few people were thrown by whatever went down clearly as they were sprawling back up on their feet to book it out of there. A lone woman stood at the center of the damage. The girl back at the cafe.. "I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you missed out on Red, White, and Boom by about two months," She looked troubled, but whether or not she was here to cause dismay, Static kept his defenses high just in case.

That eerie feeling that something was about to happen. Happened..

Julian really didn't have time to react, just like everyone else. One minute he was walking, the next he along with several other people were literally knocked down from some sort of blast. Chunks of concrete and dust settled in a spraying effect all around them. Did a bomb go off? Was the first thing that went through his mind. Coughing and hacking in response to the dust, Julian managed to push himself upright off the ground, trying to get a better idea as to what happened. Nothing before him or along his sides. However, once he rolled over to take a glance from behind. There was, something unexplainable glowing. "What in blue blazes?!" Who is that? The question or not if she was dangerous was already answered. Peeling himself up off the ground, he offered to help others get back to their feet. Returning his attention towards the glow, Julian found himself tilting his head in curiosity. That's the girl! The one that bumped into me earlier!

Something blinded him, holding up his hand to block whatever light reflected off of something shiny. Redirecting his gaze upward to some guy hovering in the air on what looked like a silver surf board. Seems like the action in this city never ceases. Trading a glance from whoever it was in the air back down at the eerie glow, something needed to be done. Well now, errands will have to be put on hold for the time being. "Alright, lets see what we can find out about miss explosive and mister shiny in the air, shall we?" Here goes nothing. Cautiously making his way over to where the girl was at, while the street cleared for obvious reasons. What was he going to say? Take this elsewhere? Get a room? Sh-- happens? All he knew was that if someone didn't take matters into their hands, this situation could really go south. Not as in the gutter-south, more along the lines of an angry mob or the authorities. Which he was certain was probably going to happen.

"Hey! No hard feelings about what happened earlier.. but uh, if this is your way of getting attention? It's the wrong kind, miss. I don't think you realize your hurting people, might want to tone down on the special effects, y'know?" Julian could already hear sirens echoing off in the distance. Knowing fully well they were heading this way.

drake, being parked near the incident, began to step out of his car. he tossed one cigarette out of his mouth then immediately lit another one "nasty habit that" he said as he walked toward the commotion. he took a quick scan and as he figured, a the middle of all this commotion there was a pretty girl. "well this all certainly looks...interesting." he said from a safe distance. drake stood away from it but he was very obvious wearing a tan suit with leather armor all over it, that was the point, drake is a knight and a knight never hides.
