Things had gotten quiet lately. Maybe, perhaps, too quiet for Tashi's liking. The Senshi and Knights had been searching high and low for something, anything to bring to justice to. But there was nothing to crack down on. No thefts, no hijackings, nothing. Everything was as it should be, yet it made Tashi grow more and more apprehensive every day. His search for any action was driving him mad and he found that today he couldn't even force himself to visit the Training Grounds. What was the point to go? Just to train his eyes out for some petty little crime bust?
Orders with the Knights had been at an all-time low as well. The lack of activity had made everyone so laid-back that Tashi's stomach churned and his face turned red with frustration. Now especially wasn't a time to drop their guards, but what other choice did they have in the matter? Nothing was stirring up trouble. Everything was at peace.
And then a disturbing thought hit Tashi. It held him there to the sidewalk, with the moon shining down around him and blaring him with its light: what if there was no more need for the celestial warriors? Perhaps evil had finally been vanquished and the ironic thing was that they all would have to live dull lives knowing their capabilities and what they had done in the past... maybe the universe was telling them to quit. Hang up the towel.
The more he came to this conclusion, the more Tashi aggravated himself. Was he not the guardian of endurance and dedication? Out of all of his peers, he felt he was the most deserving of his title. He had not yet given up. He had not yet lost hope! It was always a struggle to push forward, but Tashi had to. His whole existence depended on his inner strength. Everyone was counting on him to pull them along. To keep them all sane.
Yet, as he looked around the very deserted area, he saw no crime. There were homes, and trees, and cars. The occasional person would walk by and Tashi would sometimes pass a light post or mailbox, but nothing screamed "dangerous" to him.
Hope was fading fast from his heart.
"This is just... stupid," Tashi sighed, shaking his head and placing a hand on his messenger bag. Inside, he could feel the shape of a very familiar heirloom of his, tracing the outline with his hand. Tashi wanted more than anything to pull it out and fight. It had been so long since he had crossed blades with something. He squeezed the metal in his hand before letting go.
Night had already fallen around him, and the mosquitoes were starting to hum their way towards Tashi like a beacon. He swatted one away. The wind picked up, sweeping the pests away. It cut through the air like a knife and sent shivers down Tashi's spine. He pulled his jacket closer to his body. It was time to head home for the night.
The Platinum Knight turned and began heading towards his apartment. He would later report back to his fellow Knights about his watch and the lack of things to pummel. He tried to brush off the disappointment, but he was sure that it could be read all over his face. Coming home empty-handed was not Tashi's idea of a night well-spent.
As he was lost in his thoughts, a sound rustled a few feet to Tashi's left side. He froze and whipped his head to the side, hand already reaching for his bag. But what he saw made him stop cold in his tracks, "A Youma..." Tashi couldn't believe his eyes.
There she was, in all her demon glory. Just standing there, hovering over a bush. Her hair was black as midnight, with yellow eyes that watched every little move Tashi made. Her skin was a pale green, covered in a traditional kimono. It swayed in the wind, and Tashi noticed that the yellow fabric was dotted with flowers stitched with gold.
"Hmmm, one of the Metallic Knights," the Youma purred, she was slowly making her way around the bush that separated them. Not even for a second did Tashi's eyes leave her, "I wasn't expecting to run into one of you."
"You're not supposed to be here," the Platinum Knight's cold words cut through the air but did not slow the demon down. His eyes were hard on her and his hand slipped into his bag, searching for his trusty weapon. "By order of-"
He was suddenly on the ground, writhing with something else. He freaked out, wrestling with the creature as it tried to wrap around his limbs and neck. The messenger bag was ripped from his arms and his green eyes looked around wildly. In one hand, he gripped a vine, keeping it from wrapping his throat, while in the other hand he reached for the bag that had been wrenched from him.
The Youma was laughing as Tashi felt vines beginning to tighten around his legs and arms. The cords jerked Tashi every which way until he was strung up with both hands behind his back and both his legs immobilized. He struggled but he knew he would not be able to escape; the vines were strong and thick.
"I knew you were one," Tashi looked up at the Youma. In her hand, she held his sword, the messenger bag in tattered ruins by her feet. She admired the blade, fingers pressing into the Latin, murmuring the words to herself, "Tolle gladium... erige cor tuum. Hm, very poetic." she looked back up at Tashi, her smile twisted with evil glee, "Quite frankly, I was searching for one of the Senshi, but I think you will do nicely..."
After a moment of hesitation, Tashi tentatively asked, "Do nicely for what?"
The Youma smirked at him before returning her gaze to the blade, "Killing the Senshi, of course."

xxxxxIt was evening at Jacklyn Regulus' apartment complex. Laying exhausted on a bench after such an eventful day. So many things crossed her mind. There had to be order to the chaos swirling around in her head. Jacklyn counted it on her fingers one more time. One, there's more than just one Senshi. Two, they all live here or at the palace. Three, each one of them is more different and unique than the last. Four, there was no way that she could handle one, save the rest.
xxxxxJacklyn was still getting used to the idea that she was a Senshi. Even more so, the idea of other Senshi being around. It was an odd concept, considering she was so used to be being by herself. Jacklyn's mind flashes back to when she was with her parents. She could vividly recall how she was left out of everything. In fact, the more she thought about it, the more she realized how she was always left behind in everything. Her family, friends, even her career. Always left alone to fend for herself, by herself. The thought of being in a group frightened her as well as thrilled her. Maybe, here is the place I've been looking for. Jacklyn mused to herself.
xxxxxAs if to mock her small glimmer of hope, doubt crept in. They already have so many Senshi, and most certainly better ones than she was. Jacklyn knew out of all of them, she had the least experience and capability controlling her abilities as a Senshi. She could sometimes transform, sometimes not. Her gem always had a habit of showing itself off whenever it wants too. Jacklyn groaned as she remembered how she got spooked by someone once, she flew ten feet in the air and into a tree. She instinctively stroked her head where she hit a tree branch.
xxxxxJacklyn shook her head. How could she help it? It's not her fault this was how it was. She was new to this whole thing, of course she wouldn't be the greatest. Jacklyn knew she wasn't anyone special, as far as she was concerned. She knew only one thing; that she was the Sailor Sapphire, Senshi of Sincerity and Fidelity. Jacklyn figured she might as well act like it. I'm a Sailor Guardian! There's nothing I can't do. She concluded.
xxxxxCue the strange sounds coming from across the street. Jacklyn, stirred out of her revery, jumped a foot in the air at the sound. Her heart was pounding a mile a minute in her chest. Wait! Universe! I take that back! Her mind screamed. Jacklyn wasn't sure what she could do. She was by herself, everyone else was out of reach. Jacklyn shook her head. She had to know if someone was in trouble. Throwing caution to the wind, she heads toward the apartment complex.

As the days began to grow just a bit colder, Fion knew that she'd be able to spend less and less time outside. She dreaded the winter, feeling lifeless and depressed. When she was younger, she had never quite understood why... but now that her bond with plants was revealed it all made sense. So she spent as much time as she could outside, drawing the feelings of living, growing things into her memory, hoping that maybe this next winter, things would be different.
Of course, that meant it was often dark before she realized it.
She had been studying at a park again today, and had probably been there way too long. Tucker was probably waiting impatiently for her to come back home and let him outside. Stuffing her things back into her bag, she began the walk back towards her apartment.
The strange noises did not reach her until she had gotten close, but she quickly rounded a corner to find out what was going on. She was now a senshi, after all! Shying away from strange noises could no longer be her default response. Hoping that it was nothing, she turned onto the street and found a youma with a person - man or woman, she couldn't see well from here - wrapped up in vines.
Fion slung off her messenger bag and set it against the wall. She was by herself, as far as she knew, but she had to try and help. And the youma was using vines... maybe she could turn them back somehow? She grabbed her pendant in a flash of green light, and Sailor Emerald took the place of the young woman who had been standing there. Readying her attack, she rounded the corner again in a run.
"Grasping root!" Emerald shouted as she moved forward, stomping hard. Her plants raced away from her, cracking the ground as they surged out towards the youma and the person it held captive. Vines and brambles stretched out towards the captive. Emerald hoped to get her own vines under the youma's, to find some way to peel them away. She had to get whoever it was free first, and then try to fight. She bit her tongue as she concentrated hard, hoping to find an opening to pull the enemy plants away.

Ruby sighed as the sun slowly dipped low in the sky. The hues of the setting sun always spoke to the young girl. Like flames painting the sky as they rushed their target. As the sun vanished, she closed her crimson eyes and took in a deep breath. The cool autumn air seemed to freeze her nostrils. Pulling the lavish blood red coat she wore closed around her torso, the redhead turned and headed home.
As she walked, Rubys' mind wandered, slowly replaying the events of the last three years. Three years. Had it really been that long? Since that day, her life had taken many unexpected turns. She had formed a close bond with two of her fellow senshi. Peridot was like a mother to her. Something she had always wanted. And Mimi...who was still working to earn her senshi title, had become like a sister. She wondered what each of them had been up to since she'd seen them last. Perhaps it was time to pay Peridot a visit. Continuing on her quiet journey home, Rubys' mind was quickly snapped back to the present. "What on earth was that?"
Diverting her current path, the redhead began jogging toward the roucas. She hoped it was nothing. Children playing in the park perhaps. It had, afterall, been awhile since anything more interesting had been the case. Still, always check when you can, right? She was used to running into danger by now, and her powers were growing with each training session.
Rounding the last of the houses, she was pleased to actually see something interesting happening. A young man was being held down by a youma?! Her eyes scanned the area quickly. Peridot had taught her to always take a moment to gather all of the information possible before rushing into things...which went against every fiber of her personality. The youma, had a sword in its hand, and its tendrils around the boys arms, legs, and neck. But why?
Further inspection caught another redhead on the opposite side of the field. A senshi. Ruby quirked an eyebrow when she saw the younger senshi firing an attack. Could this girl really handle things by herself? Doubtful. Afterall, she had little...more likely no...experience with these creatures. Still..it was best to sit back and wait. If she was needed, She'd be ready. Her slender fingers grasped the pendant dangling on a gold chain around her neck, holding it, and waiting.

His wrists were beginning to hurt. The vines that bound him had become slick from Tashi's struggling, tearing the skin right from the green heart. Plant juice oozed from the damage Tashi had caused. He was strong, but it didn't matter how many hours he logged in the gym, there was no tearing these vines by hand. They were just too strong, too magical.
"I would never help a Youma. I'd rather die first," Tashi meant it, too. He knew it was his duty as a Metallic Knight to protect the Senshi and their order. Tashi was more than willing to put his dedication to the test.
The Youma laughed. It was a piercing and unpleasant sound. Like demonic bells twinkling, "Oh, please. You won't even know it was going on. It would be like a bad dream for you. Wake up another day and forget it ever even happened." She sauntered towards him, waving his own sword this way and that. Tashi watched his blade cut through the air and wished so badly that he could just take it from this demon and use it against her.
Tashi let out a deep breath, his eyes searing his hate into the Youma's soul.
Then, she placed her hand on him and Tashi turned to ice. He suddenly felt cold. Very cold. It was so unpleasant, Tashi jerked backwards to get away, to escape that icy chill, only to be held in place by the vines still wrapped around his limbs. A cry escaped his mouth and he felt his knees tremble under him. Still, the Youma watched him with devilish interest, surely finding some twisted pleasure in the exchange.
Tolle gladium... erige cor tuum. In his head, Tashi chanted the words etched into his sword. Tolle gladium... erige cor tuum. Tolle gladium... erige cor tuum. They were his guiding words, the words he had sworn to uphold. In each fight, the Platinum Knight pledged to bring about the qualities of endurance and dedication. So much so, even the blade served as a reminder to Tashi of his purpose, his duty.
But suddenly he didn't feel anything. He felt distant, numb. The warmth seemed to leave him. Tashi felt wrong. He shook his head, trying to regain control, but nothing seemed acceptable. It was like he was in a fog, a dream. Tashi looked up at the Youma, "What... did you do to me?" he blinked a few times. Something's not right, Tashi mentally panicked.
The Youma giggled, "It's our little secret, okay?" she traced a heart on Tashi's chest and gave him a wink.
"Grasping root!"
Tashi turned his head to watch as a Senshi jumped into the fray. He recognized her as Sailor Emerald, but only knew of her since they had never formally met. Fiery red locks of hair framed a pale face, and even from where Tashi was dangling, he could see how beautiful her green eyes were. She was capable of manipulating plants, Tashi remembered, as a whip of vines shot out from in front of her towards the Youma and him.
The Youma laughed, "Well, well, look who's come to play. A senshi, how precious. To be honest, I was looking to run into you first, but this Metallic Knight was just too juicy to pass up!" The demon broke free from the senshi's roots like a child pulling weeds, "Please! Like a couple of vines are going to slow me down,"
All the vines holding Tashi at bay slithered out from under him, releasing him unceremoniously onto the pavement. He cried out and rolled onto his back, not even watching as the Youma turned and directed her vines towards the senshi, "You wanna dance little girl? Then let's dance." Green whips began to strike at the senshi's feet, cracking with such force that Tashi even jumped.
He scrambled to his feet as the Youma turned her attention back to Tashi, her vines still at work keeping the unwelcome opponent at bay. His own sword was under his throat and he was forced to look up at the Youma. Those eyes of hers -- piercing yellow -- seemed to follow every move the man made. "We'll be in touch," Tashi gave her a confused look, but screamed as he felt something icy pierce his side.
Laughter and blood tainted the air as the Youma disappeared, leaving the sword of the Platinum Knight to clatter to the ground. Its blade was crimson. Tashi crumpled into a pile beside it, grasping his side in agony. He'd never been stabbed before and he would never have guessed that the pain could be so bad. Tashi grit his teeth and forced himself to look up.
The vines that had been whipping the air ceased to exist, returning back into the earth from which they had been summoned. All that was left was him and the senshi. He suddenly realized, much to his embarrassment, that he wasn't even in his Knight form. Would the senshi know who he was?
"Sen-shi," Tashi called out weakly to the warrior, hoping she would hear him.

The youma easily pulled out of Sailor Emerald's attack, and the young woman fought the urge to swear out loud. This was going to go really horribly if she couldn't get a hit in, but saving the youma's captive had to be her first priority. As the youma taunted, Emerald dodged her whipping vines. The movements came to her a little more easily now than they had when she had first transformed all those weeks ago, and this youma wasn't nearly as fast as Sidda was. However, Emerald could not get any closer, either to the beast or to its dropped captive, and she had no chance to draw her bow.
And then, seemingly without warning, the youma vanished. Emerald froze, confused. "Wha-"
"Sen-shi," came the weak call, and she turned quickly. The captive - a man with a vaguely familiar face - lay on the ground next to a bloody sword.
"s**t!" She dropped her transformation immediately. As Fion, she had been wearing a soft green button-down over a black tank top and skinny jeans, and she ripped the long shirt off as she moved forward, wadding it up to press to the wound on the young man's side. Putting the familiar face aside, she tried to focus on stopping the bleeding. For not the first time, and certainly not the last, she wished she had healing abilities like Sailor Peridot.
"Sorry," she muttered, turning him slightly and pushing his shirt out of the way to get the cloth right against the wound and try to stem the flow, apologizing both for his modesty and for not being able to do anything better than this. She had no way to know how deeply he was cut, but they needed help fast.
She needed to call an ambulance, but her cell was in her bag. Looking around and realizing she had left it at the corner when she transformed, she finally got a good look at the sword. The sword, like the blonde man next to her, was familiar. And then it clicked. A Knight. He was a knight. She hadn't met any of them, but here was the Platinum Knight and she was getting covered in his blood. She had to do something and worry about details later.
The lights were on in some of the apartments nearby, and with them and the streetlamps Fion could see figures nearby on the edges of the park. "Please help!" she shouted, hoping for the knights sake that the figures weren't youma.

xxxxxJacklyn Regulus rushed to the fight, however she was planted in place. She felt her heart drop through the floor at the sight. A youma hand wrapped a person in vines. She could see how the vine, like a boa constrictor, was wound so tight she could see dark bruises forming. There would be blood if it kept up the pace.
xxxxxBody! Move! We have to do something or there won't be anyone to save! Jacklyn's mind screamed. However, despite her greatest efforts, not one muscle moved. She was frozen with fear. Just as Jacklyn was about to give up, someone shouted out "Grasping Root!" Vegetation erupted from the earth and broke Jacklyn out of her revery.
xxxxxAs if on command, Jacklyn grasped the sapphire necklace in her bag. "I know you and I don't get along, but please! Let me transform, just once!" At first, nothing happened. The sapphire stone was still and dull, like any other stone. Jacklyn's heart fell, and began to lose confidence. Then a flicker. A crackle. All at once, the gemstone lit up as brilliantly as a star in the night sky.
xxxxxIn her place stood Sailor Sapphire, Senshi of Sincerity and Fidelity. It didn't take her long to notice the young man and woman. A red pool was steadily growing bigger from where his hand was. Blood. He's bleeding. Her deep blue eyes grew wider. Jacklyn snapped herself out of it. Running entirely on adrenaline, she rushed to the young man and woman who partially dressed his wound.
xxxxx"Are you hurt? Well, duh of course you are." She smacked herself in the face. Her analytical eyes scanned the young man over. Minor bruises where the vines once were. Large cut on his side was bleeding profusely. He needed medical attention. "Here, let me." She tried to lift the man's arm around her so she could help him up. Jacklyn knew she needed a first aid kit at least. Jacklyn knew she could take him to her apartment since it was close, but she couldn't carry him on her own. She most certainly wouldn't want to try flying again. Her mind flashed with images of them flying into windows or buildings or worse. "Please, help me carry him to the apartment!"

Ruby watched tentatively as the scene played out in front of her. Despite her unusual red-clad appearance and her position nearby and in plain sight, no one seemed to notice her presence. And why would they? None of them had spent much time.e together since being recruited. She closed her eyes, and sighed. She was going to have to help the poor young man, who had somehow summoned the strength to break free from the monsters tendrils, herself.
Raising her pendent above her head, Ruby spoke quietly and quickly. "Ruby Mineral Power,Make-up!" In a surely visable spectacle of flames, the crimson eyed girl was replaced by a Senshi in black and red. She raised a hand, summoning a fireball slightly smaller than a baseball, and hurled it toward the monster, but before the flames reached the target, before anyone else could react, the thing had vanished, leaving the boy bleeding on the ground. "Dammit!"
Running quickly over to the young man,she quickly noticed there were now two girls bent over the boy, talking about finding an apartment to take him to. There was also a sword on the ground. Her eyes widened. Was this young man...could he really be....a knight? She cleared her throat, before summoning another fireball. "He shouldn't be moved yet...not until the bleeding is stopped. "

xxxxx"He shouldn't be moved yet...not until the bleeding is stopped." She turned around to see that the voice belonged to another Sailor Guardian. Jacklyn flinched in surprise. The voice broke her concentration, causing her to revert back to normal before she could protest.
xxxxxJacklyn felt her face redden in shame. Her inability to control her new-found abilities were showing, but she willfully ignored it. Her mind scrambled to think of a new plan. "Well, alright. But I'm going to go to the nearby apartment complex." She was loathe to admit it, but for once her knowledge of medicine was useful. Jacklyn hoped it would make up for the fact that her powers were essentially useless.
xxxxx"I can use a first aid kit there to help stabilize his condition until help arrives." She stated. Jacklyn turned to take a look at the make-shift bandage. Already it was soaked through with the life-giving fluids. As a result, Jacklyn added another layer by taking off her yellow button-down shirt, and wrapping it tightly around his chest. She shivered in the cold night air, her white undershirt not really providing much. Jacklyn turned to the girl holding him. "Please, continue putting pressure on his wound, as well as this." She turns the wounded man on to his side, his wound facing up. "Keep him in this position, it'll help decrease blood loss."
xxxxxJacklyn ran for her bag which she left off to the side, and fumbled around for her phone. There! She grabbed her phone from her purse, but then a sudden realization struck her. Jacklyn had no idea what the emergency number for this area. She stumbled back to where the Senshi and the other woman was. "You guys wouldn't know the emergency number for this area is, would you?"

"Sorry," the words sounded so distant from him. Like she was at the end of a tunnel. Tashi blinked a few times and cried out as something pressed into his side wound. His hand was there, grasping at something that felt soft. Her hands were there, too, getting red with his blood. Tashi's shirt was pushed up over the wound at some point -- he hadn't noticed when it was moved. as he was rolled onto his side.
His eyes rolled around for a second before he finally regained control of his mentality. Willpower was the only thing that closed the gap between him and her, in that very long tunnel. Tashi coughed and tried to focus his eyes as the senshi called for help.
Red hands pressed harder into his wound and he found himself growling. Red hair framed a face that he could hardly recognize. A red hand was at her throat, choking the life from her. She struggled, fought, nails dug into his hand. He could feel himself actually enjoying it, even though it felt like a horrific nightmare that he couldn't change.
"Are you hurt? Well, duh of course you are." Another senshi appeared and Tashi realized that he had only imagined chocking... he turned his head and gagged. Nothing came out, which Tashi wasn't sure was any better. It only caused him more pain from the action, reminding him that he had a rather large hole in his side. "Here, let me."
Tashi felt an arm slide under him, trying to hoist him up, "Please, help me carry him to the apartment!" The voice was unfamiliar to him, but the Platinum Knight wasn't able to get a good look at her. His hands, which were still clutching the blood-soaked shirt to his side, were now trembling from the adrenaline pumping through his body. The cut was a dull ache now; he could feel every heartbeat in the broken fibers of his flesh and winced every so often at the sharp stinging it caused.
The streetlights buzzed overhead while moths circled their light. Tashi couldn't see beyond that, the light was too bright. The stars seemed to be swallowed up by the inky black sky above them and, for once, Tashi wished he could actually see those beautiful bright specks in the night sky. At least they would bring him some sort of comfort.
And then there she was, right in front of him. He had to blink a few times to make sure he wasn't just seeing things. She cleared her throat, "He shouldn't be moved yet...not until the bleeding is stopped. " She was bright, like a beacon in the darkness. Her presence warmed the air and Tashi breathed it in. The Platinum Knight felt like he could just...
He reached out his arm, "Ruby," It was so quiet, the senshi continued to speak over him.
The arm under him tentatively pulled away, redirecting his stray arm back to the side wound, "Well, alright. But I'm going to go to the nearby apartment complex. I can use a first aid kit there to help stabilize his condition until help arrives." Small hands reached around his body to wrap him in another layer of clothing. She then rolled him onto his side, spoke to him about applying pressure, something to decrease blood loss... she sounded further and further away from him in the tunnel now. He strained to listen, but it all began to slip away from him.
All he wanted to do was close his eyes. Go to sleep. Sleep.

The two people who had been at the edges of her vision when she called for help had been senshi. Fion felt relieved, at least these two wouldn't need an explanation other than "youma." She couldn't imagine what an average person would have thought.
The knight was disoriented, his eyes rolling back in his head. Even she knew that this was bad. She felt herself agreeing with Sailor Ruby that he shouldn't be moved yet, but they had to act fast. And the other senshi, one Fion had never met but who had been wearing a uniform in light blue and black before dropping her transformation too, at least had her phone and a first aid kit nearby. She too wrapped a shirt around the knight, and Fion could feel her own getting sticky as the blood began to seep through it.
She recited the emergency number for the young girl. "Please call while you grab the first aid kit. Quickly!"
Turning to Sailor Ruby, Fion saw that she still held a fireball. Did they dare...? Yes, it worked in the movies, but she doubted purposefully burning someone to stop their bleeding worked exactly that way in the real world. She hoped it wouldn't come to that, but if help didn't arrive soon they might have to try. The only comfort was that Ruby, though she didn't know her well, had proven to be quite in control of her powers. If it came to that...
The knight reached towards Sailor Ruby, his lips moving, though if he spoke Fion couldn't hear it. "Stay with us!" she begged him, hoping that his will to live was strong enough to pull him through.

xxxxxJacklyn knew she had to act fast. Her fingers trembled as she put in the emergency number on her phone. After a few still minutes and an address or two later, she hung up. Jacklyn, with adrenaline coursing through her body, sprinted toward the apartment complex. She burst through the front doors and headed toward the front desk. It took everything she had to keep herself together as she requested the first aid kit. Jacklyn could tell the receptionist wanted to know what was going on, but she didn't give her the chance as she fast walked out the door.
xxxxxAfter acquiring their first aid kit, Jacklyn sped quickly to the boy. She placed her two fingers on his wrist to check his pulse. His pulse was slowing down, and was getting more difficult to detect. This could only mean his body is drawing the blood away from his extremities due to loss of blood. She leaned in to his mouth to check his breathing rate. It was relatively steady, but it too was beginning to slow down. In a way Jacklyn was grateful; it meant that he wasn't going into shock, yet. Jacklyn turned to the red-headed girl who helped treat him. "Get him to talk more, it'll help keep him awake." She wrapped him in the small blanket provided by the kit and went to work.
xxxxxJacklyn was working automatically at this point. Her medical knowledge proved useful for once, as tried to treat the young man to the best of her ability till the ambulance would arrive. She immediately took off the two make-shift bandages to get a better look at the wound. It was a relatively large wound, but wasn't that deep. Jacklyn put on the latex gloves in the kit and proceeded to clean the wound with hydrogen peroxide. She also cleaned the cut with the antiseptic wipes to make doubly sure it was as sterile as possible.
xxxxxOnce that was done, she placed sterile gauze pads to cover the wound as well as wrapped it more layers of gauze as tightly as possible, but not so tight as to inhibit breathing. She heaved a sigh of relief after her work as done. "It's nothing fancy, but it should hold him till the ambulance arrives." At this point, she began to put away some of the medical supplies. Just as she put it all away, she could hear the sirens in the distance. Jacklyn turned just in time to see the flashing lights of an ambulance.

Ruby watched as the two, clearly experienced girls work on the young man. She could hear them speaking, as they worked to keep the boy from passing out, and getting an abulence to the scene. Still, her curiosity nagged at the back of her mind. Who was this boy? Why, out of everyone in this forsaken city, would he get attacked? Then she remembered the sword. She was certain there was a sword around, somewhere. But her small flame, which she had intended to use on the boy, was too small to shed enough light. At least, enough to stand still while searching. She hadn't noticed, nor did she care, that the blue clad girl was now in civilian form, or that one of them had left the scene, only to return with a first aide kit.
She didn't see it when Tashi reached for her, nor did she hear him say her name. And, as he began passing out, her attention was now focused. She turned, her eyes scanning the grass below her. Surely it couldn't be too far away. And, after a few steps, there it was. Laying at her feet, covered in blood. The boys sword. She bent down, and inspected it a moment. The blade was sharp, honed for battle. She reached down, and grabbed the hilt, and as she lifted it, she could feel the weight. Balanced, even. In any other situation, she's have swung it a few times. Then the light from her flame caught the words etched in the blade. She squinted, but half of the phrase was soaked in blood. Still, it looked possibly Latin.
As the ambulance arrived, the sound of sirens broke her concentration. She closed her hand, snuffing out the fireball, and turned to the two girls. " You two go with him. Keep him safe. I'll meet you at the hospital later."

Drifting off to sleep was the easy part for Tashi. There was no question that he needed a moment to recuperate and relax. His whole body felt like it was on edge. Every fiber of his muscles were firing signals to his brain and there was no way to stop it. The pain registered in his mind even while he was unconscious, and Tashi wondered if it would ever stop.
The Youma had gotten him good. Very good. With his own sword, at that. Tashi was abashed by how careless he had been, letting an enemy wound him with his very own sword. He felt foolish and miserable. His stomach became a pit of despair as he thought about how the Gold Knight would reprimand him for being so reckless. Tashi should have been accompanied by somebody. Someone else should have been there to watch his back. Instead, a Youma smacked him a few times and hit him where it really hurt.
Tashi was probably lucky to be alive.
Still, the scene played out in his head, over and over again, as if Tashi was looking for a hidden clue in the scene. There was nothing, obviously, but Tashi began to see that everything that happened was out of his control. Being a Metallic Knight meant danger (it was in the job description for crying out loud! Putting your life on the line for the good of humanity, remember?), but Tashi never would have thought that it could have actually happened to him. He'd been so safe in his ignorance and comfort that he'd forgotten what it meant to be a part of the celestial warriors.
His shame worsened, and he felt the coal of vengeance grow hot with fury. Katashi wasn't sure when or where, but he swore that he would find that Youma. He would comb through every planet, searching for her. It was like a venom in his veins now.
Her face came back into his mind. He remembered how she had just been standing there, with hair the color of nightmares and skin so sickly green, it made Tashi's stomach coil. The pattern of her kimono still burned into Tashi's eyes and he remember how smooth and beautiful her voice had been. His skin dotted with goosebumps as her words echoed, "I think you will do nicely. Kill the Senshi!" The Youma's face twisted into one of horror, her eyes and mouth stretching downward so that there were three black voids where her features once were. Her hair whipped around Tashi like a hurricane, slicing through his flesh like swords.
"No!" Tashi sat up only to realize that he was attached to something. His skin felt pinched in random places and his side still ached where he had been ruthlessly stabbed. Looking around, the room was solid white and far too shiny, blinding him. The knight covered his eyes immediately with the crook of his arm, tears already streaming down his face from the intensity of the lights.
When his eyes burned a little less, Tashi decided to take another peek. This time, the knight was able to see that he was in a hospital now. Somehow, he was no longer bleeding out on the street and Tashi had a sneaky feeling that the Senshi who had saved him had something to do with his being safe and sound in a hospital bed.
Thank the heavens for Senshi, the Platinum Knight sighed in relief. If they hadn't been there, Tashi was certain that he would have been dead. Or worse...
Currently, the knight was alone. He had his own room, which was hard to secure at hospitals these days with how many people were currently living in the city. The extra privacy was nice, so Tashi tried not to question why he was there and how he was the lucky one to get his own hospital room. Looking around the room further, Tashi spotted a jacket draped across the back of one of the chairs. If he was alone now, the knight wondered for how much longer he would be left in peace.
"Ah, you're awake," someone plopped down on Tashi's hospital bed. He winced, the wound in his side exacerbated by the disturbance, "I was starting to worry that I had stabbed you a little too deep."
Tashi's green eyes locked onto the stranger, almost unable to recognize her. The black hair had remained the same, but her skin color was now to a modest mocha color. Her yellow eyes were hazel now, and even the shape had gone from downturned to almond. His heart rate sky-rocketed through the roof, and the machine he was hooked up to started to beep erratically.
"You..." Tashi blinked, anger and confusion now battling it out inside him, "I should kill you," his hands twitched at the thought. The fact that she was just lounging on his hospital bed made it that much worse.
"Oh please, you know you can't do anything to harm me now," the Youma kissed the tip of Tashi's nose. The knight recoiled in disgust. His hands shot out to grab her and he held her at a distance. She only giggled in response, "I thought you'd like this... Me, appearing as your dream girl, and you, my knight in shining armor. We're a match made in heaven," the Youma had wriggled free of Tashi's grasp and was now staring directly into his eyes.
Tashi laughed darkly, "Heaven? More like hel-"
"Shh-shh-shh, there's no need for you to talk now. Rest and recover your strength, my knight. You can't do much murdering with a hole in your side now, can you?" A finger was on his lips. He looked down at her well-manicured hand and raised an eyebrow. The Youma laughed, "Do you like what you see?"
As much as Tashi wished he could say no, he realized he couldn't. The Youma had literally taken his ideal woman and made her flesh. She was sitting right in front of him, with beautiful, long black hair that looked soft enough to press his face into. Her form was shapely and perfect, and those eyes. Tashi forced his eyes away, "No," he licked his lips, "It's fake. Just magic. An illusion. It's not real!" He closed his eyes, wishing the Youma away mentally.
Instead, she grabbed his hand and placed it on her chest. He could feel something pulsating under the illusion, but he was convinced that she didn't have a heart. He withdrew his hand as if a wolf had bitten it.
The Youma pouted, "Fine, be that way if you want. You'll soon see things my way. Especially when your precious Senshi come back from getting their coffee." She hopped off the hospital bed and made her way to the chair with a coat on it, "You're pretty popular with the ladies though, huh? You had three of the Senshi come and save you. Three! I guess you're a ladies man, Tashi. They've been here this whole time, too, watching over you, in case I come back, I suppose. It's funny because, when I told them I was your girlfriend, they didn't even question it.
"I guess they just don't know the real you. They didn't even know who to call as far as your family was concerned. Don't worry though, I took care of everything while you were unconscious. Both your parents know and I've been keeping them updated with your status. But, going back to your Senshi friends, maybe you really should reconsider your friendship with them."
The words caught Tashi off-guard. A lot of what she said was true; he was surprised that the Senshi hadn't even noticed anything was wrong with a new girl touting the fact that she was Tashi's girlfriend. Then again, he hardly knew any of the Senshi yet. It was unreasonable to assume that they would know anything about him and his normal life. But after everything that happened, would they have been so lax as to let someone who claimed to be his girlfriend be by herself with him?
There was something else the demon wasn't sharing, "Why would they just trust you?" The Youma looked up from her phone at the Platinum Knight. Her lips curled into a grin and Tashi could feel another wave of nausea threaten to take hold.
"Well, because I know so much about you, Tashi, baby," she cooed, almost mockingly, "I remember when you first rode your bike and how you had scraped your knee on the pavement. I remember when you graduated high school and college with honors. I remember that you don't like eating shrimp because it reminds you too much of your dead grandmother who used to eat shrimp every New Year, thinking that it would bring her good luck during the next year. It's hard to argue with someone that knows everything about you. I'm clearly your girlfriend," she laughed. Even her laugh was pleasing to Tashi.
He couldn't believe what he was hearing, "But... but how?" his entire life was laid out in front of him by a woman he had only just met. A demon, he corrected himself, a demon that knows everything about me.
The Youma was beyond herself with pleasure, "Oh, Tashi. There are so many things about your knighthood that you don't even know yet, isn't there? Oh, it's always so cute when the Knights are first starting out. Helios doesn't usually like to share the secrets right off," she paused and reconsidered, "No, wait. I think it's more that he wants you all to figure it out. That sounds more like his style..."
Sounds of conversation were nearing the room. Both Tashi and the Youma glanced towards the door. Was it the Senshi? He had to tell them everything! Tashi couldn't wait to wipe that smug smile off of her face. Especially if the Senshi were the ones helping to beat it off.
