Hi there! My username is !d!ot Amer!ca, but you can call me Peggy Sue if you so please. I respond to pretty much anything! Ever since my husband and I bought a house, he's had baby fever like mad! I personally would like to finish my second degree first, so to "hold him over," I've been making baby blankets! I hope to get into crochet by Christmas for hats, and I'd love to learn to make onesies sometime soon as well.

NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA BATMAN!
This is a Batman blanket I made for my brother in law, who's wife is due in April. I personally dislike both of them as people, but BABIES YAY. As my husband and I had a Batman themed wedding, I felt it was appropriate to buy 3 yards of this anti-pill fleece fabric from Joann's when it was on sale! I plan on making two blankets for my husband and I when we have a child out of it.

This is a puppy-based blanket. It has a soft dimple minky fabric on the back that I love! The colors look "warmer" than they actually are (stupid phone camera...) But I've had this particular piece for about 5 years now. I bought it when I got pregnant when my husband and I first started dating, but I unfortunately miscarried. I held onto this fabric as a promise for the future, and I'm not giving up on it! It's my favorite blanket so far. I got the puppy front and satin binding from Walmart, and the minky from Joann's.

This is some foxy fabric. wink I bought this when it was on sale at Joann's as well. My husband and I are planning a fox-themed nursery for our child, and I saw this and fell in love! It has a satin binding from Joann's, along with the dimple minky fabric. There's a sister blanket that I'm posting in the next post. It's literally the same, just different satin color.

Alright, this blanket I'm particularly proud of. Why? Because it's HUGE! It's about a yard long (plus a little bit). Much bigger than any of the other blankets. It's so soft and plush, and the satin binding is incredibly soft. It's the first blanket I ever made with the satin binding, which is another reason I'm so proud of it! emotion_kirakira Fabric on front and back, along with satin binding, is from Walmart. I met a delightful woman there who was a manager at a Hancock Fabrics. She kept trying to get me to shop there, but I didn't have the heart to tell her I was treated very poorly last time I went to the Hancock Fabrics in my area. sweatdrop

GOTTA CATCH 'EM ALL! cool
So in honor of Pokemon Go!, I made a Pokemon blanket! I left the binding off because the back fabric sheds a lot and the front pills, so having the binding would be a pain in the you-know-what when it comes to getting rid of it all. So I left it nice and simple! I was disappointed in this fabric. I loved it in the store, and the clerk told me it was anti-pill, but they were so wrong. crying Both fabrics were bought at Joanns'.

So this is a satin-free girls dimple minky blanket. It's meant for newborns to cuddle with, as it's fairly small in size. It's too small to be a proper swaddling blanket, but it's a nice size for those "loop" blankets that have the different textured ribbons sewn into the side lining of the blankets. Maybe I'll make one of those next... Either way, this fabric was all bought at Walmart. I made two others and embroidered them with a friend's daughter's names. They turned out darling, and his little girls love them! They are 1 and 3, if my memory serves me right.

This photo makes me angry, as did making this blanket. This photo totally mutes the colors of this blanket. crying When it's light outside, I'll get some nice photos of all of these in natural lighting. I actually started crying while making this blanket, because I got so angry! The fluffy fabric on the back was supposed to be rosette style, but one gentle wash in cold water in the washer per instructions and they all washed out! So that made me very angry. While I was sewing the satin onto it, the fluffy "rosette" kept slipping and pulling the satin in and super fluffed up the edges. crying It's still a nice grey, white and mint color scheme. The satin binding is a very light mint. All bought at Joann's.
