The Cafe De la Vie is having a grand re-opening. A rebakening even! And to celebrate, Head Chef Hallu has prepared a particularly special treat. This pastry, unlike many of the others emerged early and fully formed. This particular Heila was different from the others they had created and though Hallu was quick to move on to their next project, Sous Chef Malkav wasn't about to let such a magnificent treat fall into just any hands. No, no, only an exceptional chef deserved such a fine Heila.
OOC: This will be a CYOA style event to win a special edited premade Heila. Although the Heila will not be revealed until the end of the contest, it is a variant subspecies that will be limited and also revealed at the end of the content. Each prompt will be up for 48 hours, after which a new prompt will be posted. If you miss a prompt, you will be given a single second chance but will lose the three possible points from your total score. If you miss two prompts, you will be disqualified.
Each prompt will give you a choice of ingredients and measuring implements. There is a correct recipe and deviations from the correct recipe will result in fewer points. Sometimes there will be added points for choosing the right ingredients and sometimes, even if you have incorrect amounts you will still get a point for the correct ratio. A perfect score is three points per prompt for a total of fifteen points. At the end, the highest scoring contestant will win the Heila.

Prompt # 1
Inviting the five young chefs into the kitchen, Malkav offered them each a spot at the counter with their own bowls, measuring cups and spoon, whisks and spatula and pans. The counter was littered with ingredients, granulated sugar and confectioner's, baking powder and soda, flour and eggs, milk and butter, even chocolate chips and cream cheese.
"You're each to make a cake to demonstrate your skills but to also prove your instinct, we'll be using no recipe," he instructed. "I will tell you the ingredients and you must use your judgment and instinct to decide how much of each to add. If you're the chefs you claim to be, you should have no trouble making a delicious cake. When we're finish, I'll taste each and the best cake will be deemed the winner."
Setting out the flour and the sugar first, along with a whole measuring cup as well as a half. "Begin with the flour and sugar."
OOC: Using the whole and/or half measuring cup, your chef must guess how many cups of flour and how many cups of sugar in the recipe.

Malkav watched the chefs as they carefully measured, taking note of each one. Some used more and some used less than what he would have, but they were all close in the ratio of flour and sugar. He didn't show any sign, however, of approval or disapproval, but rather just nodded as he moved on.
"Next, we will need baking powder and baking soda," he instructed, motioning to containers of each sitting in front of them. Next to the containers sat a single teaspoon.
OOC: Using the teaspoon, you need to guess how much baking soda and baking powder goes in. Hint: a little goes a long way.

Once again, Malkav watched silently as the chefs continued to add ingredients, taking note of every mistake but keeping his cringes internal. Moving on, he motioned to the next set of ingredients. "In front of you, each is a half dozen eggs. Use as many as you'd like or as few. You'll also find a package of cream cheese and four sticks of butter." He gave a little shrug and offered a hint, "You'll only be using one or the other. Either the package of cream cheese or butter. The other will be important later so choose carefully."

"Now that your batter is ready, go ahead and grease your pans and pour it in," Malkav continued when he saw what each of the chefs had added. He remained skeptical as to how these cakes would turn out but surely, at least one would prove deserving of the Heila they were competing for. "If you'll notice, there is also a bag of chocolate chips in front of your stations. Feel free to add them to the batter, as well but you'll need to hurry up and get those cakes in the ovens."
OOC: If you add chocolate chips, you need to decide how many (half the bag or the whole bag) and then roll a 10 sided die (because who doesn't love a little random dumb luck?)

Prompt # 5 (last one!)
The cakes baked and two came out on time with one a little over cooked and another burnt to a crisp. Sadly, the chef of the burnt cake decided to step out, leaving three competing chefs. Malkav instructed them to leave their cakes to cool on the table while they prepared the frosting.
"Well now, you've all got confectioner's sugar. Some of you have butter and some cream cheese. Choose from what you've got left and then..." And Malkav paused for a moment then. He hummed looking at the ingredients on the table. "It'll need a little something else but it seems you'll have to find that yourself." He gave them no further hints than that but surely a good chef could figure out the missing piece.
OOC: You'll need to choose how many cups of powdered sugar (hint, need to cover the whole cake so don't skimp!) Then, if you have cream cheese or butter left, you need to pick how much of which to use; make sure you don't use something you don't have or you'll lose points. Lastly, you'll need a little something else. (Hint, feel free to look up frosting recipes for hints.)
