Hi! I'm !d!ot Amer!ca, but y'all can call me Peggy Sue. wink Or whatever. It doesn't matter.

I've been wanting to get into crochet for a long time, but recently became discouraged when my *ahem* devil of a "sister in law" took it up due to her pregnancy. If I were to start, she'd label me a copier and would start drama for me (again). But I'm wanting to do it anyway and keep it under wraps until my husband and I have a child of our own. So I plan on starting up around Christmas!

I'm also a sewer! I have a Brother SQ9185 machine that I lurve. As of right now, I just make baby blankets but I want to get into baby clothes and plushies.

My husband and I are not "actively" trying to conceive, but if it happens, it happens! We plan on actively trying in a year and a half or so. emotion_kirakira

I found this guild in the Textiles and Crafts subforum thanks to faolan pointing me in the right direction! Thank you!

I'm hoping to learn a lot from this guild. I'm going to try to be as active as possible, but I'm also working on my second degree.

Hi and welcome, Peggy Sue.

If you want to learn to crochet, then just do it! Your sister in law doesn't have a copyright out on the craft after all, lol.

I like to sew too, but hand sewing - I'm actually scared of the sewing machine - it's noisy and fast and the needle jumps wickedly! ( Yes, it's silly, but still. )

Since I'm being so chatty, why don't you come into Felina's Gaming Chat Thread when you have the time? You can roll for some nice prizes too, with the random number gen feature of posts.

Even though you're new here, you can participate in the Question of the Week if you any good vacation stories to tell. smile

Finally, since you've done some blankets before, why not post some pics in our Other Projects Gallery? We'd love to see anything you've done. heart

We have a Crochet Along section (I'm very behind in that to be honest) which you can pick up and start anytime. smile Don't be shy to ask about anything at all.

Welcome again. ^_^ Cheers.

Greetings, !A. I will never remember to call you Peggy Sue. I have to be honest. I have four kids ranging in age from 14 to 3 and my memory is shot. lol. Anyway, you can call me Felina or Fel.

I see Dana has informed you of everything that's going on right now. I hope you'll make yourself at home here and ask anything you want.

I've been crocheting for 30 years. I know right? I've been knitting for about 8 years, I think. Not sure about that. See? My mind, she is going. lol.

I love my Singer sewing machine. The only time I worked on a Brother was in high school but I do remember loving it as well. I'm not as big a fan of hand stitching as our Dana but I can do it in a pinch. She got me interested in macrame which is so much fun.

Around here you will meet people who actually "get" you and understand your addiction to yarn and everything crafts. Again, welcome and make yourself at home.

Side Note: Thank you faolan for sending us a new member! heart

Thank you so much for the warm welcomes!

I do hand-sew when it comes to putting patches onto my denim jacket or backpacks, but that's about it! I also hand-hem my pants if I need to (which is literally 99% of all my pants, especially my chef whites).

I have finally posted my gallery, and hope to keep it updated. sweatdrop I'm so bad about that.

That's it, I'm going to learn how to crochet for Christmas! Haha. I've been looking at everyone's beautiful creations, and I so badly want to do that as well!

I'll definitely pop by the chat thread - thank you! It's so lovely to meet you both!

I'm so glad that you want to learn to crochet. That was one of the main reasons for creating this guild: to introduce others to the art of crochet. One little book that helped me learn was I Can't Believe I'm Crocheting. If you ever have any questions, I know there will be someone here that can help out. heart

I just noticed your signature. My oldest daughter is 11 and she loves Buddy Holly. In fact one year she went trick or treating as Buddy Holly's biggest fan. Have you ever been to the Buddy Holly museum in Lubbock, Texas?

Now I get what you said about Peggy Sue. Duh. It takes me awhile but I do get it. lol.
