The 12th Division is in charge of gaining new information through experimentation. They research information that is sent to them from the third division before storing it.
They are also in charge of storing a mass amount of information known to Seireitei in their database. The 12th Division also develops new technology to aid shinigami in their missions.
Description of Division: The 12th Division is the largest research center in all of Soul Society. It has several labs all dealing with various things, from chemistry to mechanics. The most powerful computer in Soul Society can be found in the 12th Division but the only people who can access it are the Captain and Vice-Captain of the 12th. The Division also houses the largest library in Soul Society, with thousands of tomes on the history and advancements in Soul Society.
