The trip up the first mountain had been a bit more perilous than expected, and her egg had nearly not made it through the gauntlet, but in the end Piper had been victorious. And somehow, the villager didn't seem the least bit upset that their meal had been nearly pre-scrambled before cooking it or whatever. The fact that she had gotten another egg in return was a little surprising in fact. Not that she wanted to eat it; frankly all of the events that she had stumbled across recently had been enough to quiet her stomach completely. But now it seemed the villagers were willing to entrust her with some more egg searching despite the near accident, and hey, if it got her in their good graces, she was willing to keep going. FOR POSSIBLE LOOT.
She still took some offense to being dumped, though. These creeple really needed to work on their manners, seriously.
And on a bigger mountain to boot. No matter. She could take it, easy.
After retying her hair back, Piper began to climb the mountain, keeping a wary eye out for more predators; no doubt the ones here were going to be even more powerful just by the sheer size and height of the place. And she wasn't wrong: near the egg was a giant snake who seemed intent on eating the suckers before she could get her hands on them.
"Oh no you don't..." Summoning her weapon, Piper sniped at the thing with a few fireballs until the snake hissed and recoiled and eventually fled the scene. "Yeah, that's what I thought!" she yelled after it with a grin as she went to collect her prize.

With the egg in tow, Piper decided to try a different route to get back down just in case something or someone was lying in wait. Well, maybe it was more curiosity than caution that made her divert to a new path. If it wasn't for the fog, she was sure the place would have been pretty—that and that nasty dragon that had stormed about.
As she founded a cliff, however, something tripped her and nearly sent her hurtling over the side. "What the—" Piper righted herself in time and saw that it wasn't a rock but a sand crab that had been trying to make her life that much harder. It clicked its pincers as menacingly as it could at her.
She kicked it in response and huffed, "Stupid wildlife..."

The forest reminded her a little too much of the dark forest from her time as a knight. She kept expecting a giant spider or some other over large mini let to show up again like before. Instead what she hit again was...
...another sand crab.
Okay, these were not the natural habitats of those things, she was sure. Then again, she thought she saw that sand whale earlier...Not a whole lot made sense here. This better be some damn good stuff she was working towards.

And then a third sand crab appeared as she made her way down. Heck, it thought it could stop her as she hit the base camp again. Was it the same one? More importantly, who cared? These things or thing were or was very tenacious, but she showed it the underside of her foot all the same.
VICTORY! And another egg was received in kind.
