Tifu hadn't been here long, but it was already evident that the Stormborn favored strength. As such, this tournament seemed like a good way to catch the eye of a Captain and smooth her path to going on a raid. Viking. She was going to have to get used to the odd words they had for some of these things.
Rolling her shoulders, she padded forward and eyed the adolescent in front of her doubtfully. Younger and smaller, she didn't look like much of a challenge.
Her mama had always told her never to be afraid to stand up for herself. It didn't matter who. So when the opportunity to fight came she jumped at the chance. Yuriel wasn't going to back down to anyone. She lifted her head and curled her lip back. It was clear the lioness didn't think much of her.
"Don't under estimate me!" She challenged and leaped toward her opponent.

So be it, then. Tifu's reply took the form of a thunderous roar as she charged to meet her oncoming opponent. She expected the youth to potentially have speed on her side, but lack the coordination to really follow up on it. That didn't mean she should discount her younger opponent. Swifter than one might have believed of the large lioness, she closed, striking for the face with a sheathed paw.
