Clicking on this thread, your ability to post suddenly faded.
Yes, player, I'm talking to you. You aren't able to post here, see? Your character can't see what goes on here, at least for now. Maybe another time, but certainly not now.
This is your secret window, you see, something to let you see events that you otherwise you would not see unfold. Events your character may never know about, but you will. The story makes more sense that way.
But enough breaking the fourth wall. You want to know what this place looks like, and as the narrator I'm only too happy to oblige.
A town over from Justus lies an apartment building. Two of them have been rented out recently - 412 and 409. Fortunately, it's these two rooms you're interested in. Let's start with 409.
It's very dim in here, with light only coming from a few candles and a lamp in the corner. That's rather unfortunate, since it's also very cluttered. There are several crates shoved up against one wall, a shelf with assorted (and carefully labeled) ingredients and gemstones, and there's a very large cluttered mess of... something in the middle. A mass of wires, steel, and glass take up most of the room, with very little to move around.
Shoved up on the far side of the room is a chalkboard covered with complicated figures. Next to it, a mass of glass tubes and fixtures that any alchemist would recognize as a standard alchemist's workbench. A dark sludge bubbles in a sealed container.
Hmm, this room seems quite dangerous. I don't think it's a good idea to hover around here any longer. Besides, this isn't where the action will be taking place. Let's go there, shall we?
This apartment seems like it has people living in it; at least, that's what you assume from the three bunk beds in on room. The main room is surprisingly spacious, furnished with a few couches and chairs and a large flatscreen TV. The kitchen is well-equipped, though there aren't that many sets of silverware. Most of the furniture appears to have come from a discount store too, judging from the appearance and musty smell.
There's one room that's locked both magically and manually. A sign on the door reads "Do not enter~ L's Private Goodies! <3" There probably isn't anything of interest in there, but we'll look at it anyway.
Oh. Well. That's a rather impressive collection of weapons. Very diverse, too. All sorts of guns, grenades, hammers, swords, everything you would want in a weapons arsenal. It seems the people who inhabit this place are rather dangerous.
Too bad you can only watch.
Welcome to the Apartment!
